Business papers - such a satisfying moment in the video. Key clip for me is not used everyday, but happy to have. I definitely appreciate the pocket in the laptop compartment, not too tight to access - a small detail but glad that Bellroy paid attention. I use the key clip for when I travel for work....I only have my house keys because I Uber to the airport. The key clip gives me peace of mind that my keys won't fall out at the airport, hotel, etc.

Yes to the key clip. Lost a set of keys on a work trip to Chicago. It sucked to get into SFO without them. Clip in on the cab to the airport, clip out in the cab on the way home. Not having to think about where my keys are? Priceless.

I traveled with the old version of this bag for 2 years straight, so excited to see these changes: - Luggage passthrough yay - Harness system looks great, was always great though. - Removal of the long tall pocket on inner of the beaver tail is good, I never found a good use for that thing - Like the changes on the side pockets, the old version with two waterbottle-sized pockets was just overkill - The big long deep front pocket, idk... I could see this being impractically tight as the bag gets tightly packed, and it would flex depending on your load so not so good for something like keyboards or business papers. It could just be a place to stuff soft stuff though, masks, beanies, etc. - Removal of the zip on the tech organizer pocket... idk. Worried about stuff falling out if your trying to pull the laptop out while the bag is horizontal, such as at airport security. - What happened to the sunglasses pocket right on the top! That pocket slaps, I guess they're replacing it with the inner mesh thing in the top organizer, but two zips to get to sunglasses, kinda annoying. Overall though banger update

I like so many of the updates, but they got rid of my favorite materials, and the aesthetics definitely suffered as a result. My Transit 28L in canvas is definitely showing the wear and age so I'm left wanting for a bit more durable exterior materials like the Baida nylon.

Happy the business papers found their way into the bag. I have the Transit plus and have loved it. a smaller version with a water bottle pocket sounds nice. Also love the shout out to Beginner's Mind. One of my favorite things I've learned in Buddhism.

I'll use a keyclip to keep my keys in one place with more certainty - but if I'm actually going to want to use the keys regularly, a keyclip is usually the worst way to keep it and have it accessible. In other words, a small zip pocket would also serve that purpose

Got a new job and going hybrid after 4 years of WFH and immediately started to look around for a new work back to add to my collection of other work bags I had accumulated over the years. Bellory and Peak Design are generally my go-to's so this review made it very easy to make my decision haha. Especially not that ill most likely have more business papers to store.

I use the key clip when leaving a vehicle at the train station to ensure I don't lose my keys. If I'm driving, I either don't use it or use it for the spare key. I can't believe how excited I got about the business papers! I stopped working, and you got my full attention! The visual aid was amazing, too!

Get an Owalla bottle. It has a straw but it stays covered, you can also tip it up and chug it with just the right opening width, and you can take it apart and put the components into a dishwasher (or handwash very easily).

I was hesitant until it was shown that I could fit my um... papers... my business papers. As for the key ring... I use it sometimes. In my sling packs I often just have a flashlight attached to it for convenience. But for other packs when traveling I attach my keys so I know where they are and they don't get lost. I don't "use them" with the key ring. It's just to be sure I know where they are when I get back to my car/house.

Chase, re: water bottle, I had the same requirements as you and finally figured it out. I recommend Hydra Flask 32oz Lightweight Wide Flex Cap PLUS get the Chug Cap for Wide Mouth which makes the mouth opening smaller to drink from but when you unscrew it's wide for ease-of-cleaning or adding large ice cubes. Win-win!! Hope this helps man.

Key clip in my Bellroys is used all the time, but I use it more when I’m away from home. I know my keys will always be there not in my pocket, don’t use the string to pull on to put the keys into the door. I sold my transit as I found it too bulky for the usual 1-2 day business trips I find myself on. A small roller with the 22 litre could be a winner now we have the luggage pass through that’s the best addition!

Yeti waterbottles are the best for me. has a two cap system that can go narrow mouth or remove to have wide mouth for cleaning. Also dishwasher safe if you are in a rush. No straw, easy to clean, insulated

Yes. I love key clips. 1. They help me find my keys quickly if I have a lot of stuff in the pocket. 2. Adds some safety in that I can unzip the pocket and get stuff without worrying that my keys fall out and I don't notice. Neither probably matters but it's why I like key clips. Only Chase Reeves can make a back pack so interesting.

Thanks for the review, Chase. Business papers gets me every time! I like the 22 version. I have the 28 version of the previous version and I use it for a two day trip and when I know I'll be carrying lots of stuff. The 22 version looks great for a work daily bag and yet good for a work trip but bringing a carryon bag along.

I use key clip on backpacks for extended travel so they don’t get lost and I know exactly where they are when i get home. I use the key clip on my sling daily for house keys cause it’s easier than digging in my pocket for it especially when I’m juggling kids and gear.

Key clips are always a plus. It doesn't take up space. And I know my keys are safe. When I'm traveling, I set it and forget it. When I get home, if I travel with bags that don't have it, there's always that moment of panic of where's my keys? I also use those clips for my travel wallet which has a line and clip. It's a little deterrent for if someone wants to pickpocket my wallet from my bag.

I use the key clip in every bag! I usually swap out the annoying clip for a magnetic one (search for lixada magnet) and having The same side positive/negative on every bag and the corresponding one on the keys, so one applies to all and I just need to pull hard without fiddling with clasps

Water bottle: We love the Camelbak Chute bottles in our family. Loads of sizes to choose from, all with the same lid size, the spout is a nice size and the lid and bottle are easy to clean. Also the Contigo Free Flow is a really nice sipper, no straw but auto sealing spout that is really easy to clean.

I use the key clips when I travel, not for day to day. When I hit the airport, I immediately lash my keys down so when I am going through my bag, I do accidentally drop the keys out of the bag. Electronic car key fobs are incredibly expensive to replace, often a $200-300 dollars for OEM.

I don't use key clips in bags for keys. For EDC, keys are in my pocket. For travel, keys are in my bag, preferably in a small pocket I dedicate for keys - so I always know where they are after weeks away from home. If I do use a key clip at all, I might use it for mini tools.

Would the 28L support a 16” laptop AND an iPad Pro 12.9”? RE the key clip, yes I use it. I typically use it to hold my keys to my vehicle when I fly so I’m assured they aren’t going to slip out somewhere while I’m abroad.

Just get the Yeti rambler with the chug cap. Chug cap is a single screw top (easy to clean) that’s not super wide mouth. It’s perfect. Yes, everyone has a Yeti, but there’s a reason for that. It’s like someone suggesting you to just buy a Toyota. Sure it’s boring, but they aren’t wrong.

Reading through some of the previous comments...and I see that I am like a few others and just use the key clip when travelling for work. House keys and any other keys that I only need around home go on that for safe keeping. So, if I saw the end of key clips it would be no big problem really. Even on EDC packs, I seldom use the key clip, since they are more problem than they are worth. I will say too, on my Sympl backpack, the magnetic detachable variation is so loose to not be reliable.

I’ve tried, but I haven’t found a use for the key clip on any of my bags/pouches. I want to use them! But, I have a coded/thumbprint door lock and my car only uses a fob. I guess I could attach the car fob to the key clip, but that tucks nicely into one of the pockets on my sling (Aer Day Sling 2) so my key clip goes unused. Anyone use theirs for a non-key item?

I am a huge fan of bellroy and many other great brands, but the fact that companies continue to put a luggage pass throughs that puts ur backpack sideways on top of a carry on is still very confusing, you cannot use ur backpack while it's on a carry if it's on its side 🤦🏽‍♂️

I've used a key leash in a backpack or sling once in my life despite having them on all but one of the dozens of bags/slings I've owned and decided they're more trouble than they're worth. Maybe it's because I only carry three keys regularly, my house, mailbox, car key fob. I keep my keys on a Nite Ize clip and the key fob separate (no key loop, chain, etc) and they fold/lay flat in my pocket. Key leashes, organizers, etc are a total waste of money for me and have always proven too inconvenient.
