@@StripeyR Thanks, they were all really nice people. When I met Jim Kelly he was a surprise guest that was kept secret. We were watching film of Bruce as well as listening to a talk by one of the guys, I needed to the toilet and went to go and the guy tried to ask me to wait a bit longer but I said I couldn’t wait. I went into the room by the toilet and asked a guy in there who was on his own where the urinals were. He pointed the direction and I thanked him. I went back out sat down in my seat towards the back and the guy announced that the surprise guest was Jim Kelly and called him out. As I looked round I realised it was the same guy I’d just spoke too, it was Jim Kelly I failed to recognise him because he had his hair cropped short and didn’t have the affro style he was known for. When Jim saw me he gave a nod and a smile telling me without speaking that I didn’t recognise him, I was shell shocked that it was the great Jim Kelly I’d just spoken too. I got his autograph and had a chat with him later. That was one of those moments that I’ll treasure for evermore. 😁 I’m so sad that Jim, John and Taky are not with us anymore, it’s upsetting.

I have the Original Chinese Enter The Dragon double LP. This Is whole film on Vinyl, bought back In the 70's. Also Way of the Dragon and Big Boss. I also have all the Singles of the Films that had anything to do with Bruce. Like Man from Hong Kong (Jigsaw - Sky High) and Legend of Bruce Lee (Candy - King Of Kung Fu) and many more, also all the Chinese Singles as well. Keep Us Updated on these, thanks for sharing.

Saw Way of the Dragon at Forbidden Worlds Film Festival in Bristol it was the premiere of the 4k restoration from Arrow. It looked and sounded amazing on the Imax screen they projected it onto. Seeing Fist of Fury tonight in Leicester !

My best film ever. And I have seen many films. His aura, fighting style and presence, just captivating and magical. A masterpiece. It will still be absolutely timeless in 50 years. This man was ahead of his time. An absolute genius. Finally the uncut version, just as I saw it in the cinema as a little boy. I was just absolutely flashed and captivated and have already seen it at least 20 times. It never gets boring. I just love this masterpiece.

I was surprised to see the standard edition was being released before the limited editions. Gives people even less of a reason to buy those over priced limited editions. Great to see both versions of film on the discs. I’ve grown up with the theatrical version. The extended one doesn’t add anything really. How much motivation does Lee need to go to Han’s tournament they already killed his sister. Good couple of months for Bruce fans that’s for sure. Can’t wait to see the longer version of TBB. Going to watch the unrestored raw scan of the Mandarin Cut first. If this is the version with burned in subs will be just like watching it when it first came on in Hong Kong. Definitely up for more Bruce content from you 👍

For me irs not just about the extra content. The packaging and steelbook look really nice. I do think some people may regret not getting the ultimate once sold out. I would love to see a video about the different cuts of all the films. I can't wait for the Arrow set but not familiar with all the different cuts.

Yes quite, Joe Lewis who was arguably the greatest karate champion of all time regarded Bruce Lee as the top candidate for being the greatest martial artist that ever lived, he stated Lee was the fastest man to have stood in front of him & was incredibly powerful. Thanks a lot for your videos about Bruce Lee. What I'd like to see in your future videos is the comparison of the movies from differrent editions, by showing short videos of the same scenes or still images, in order to see which version has better colours, details and so on. The extra material like photos, posters, (old)tickets, I think they don't really matter so much since we can find them anywhere. But what we can't find is the perfect prints of original colours of Bruce Lee movies.

Hey mate. Great video. I bought both but won't be using the ultimate set. Like yourself, Enter the Dragon (theatrical) is my favourite movie of all time. I just wanted a spare. When the movies come out over summer, maybe review every disc? I've already seen The Big Boss - Mandarin Cut at the cinema and it was outstanding. Fist of Fury has NEVER looked better. The Way of the Dragon had a couple of the same flaws but generally looked excellent.

Mate. Last Saturday I watched all 4 of the Golden Harvest movies on the big screen as part of Bruce Lee day at Quad cinema in Derby. Including the mandarin cut of The Big Boss! Which was very interesting! But the 4K prints weren't amazing. Fist Of Fury looked the best but I wasn't blown away. Just a heads up regarding the box set next month. Since subscribing to your channel ive been watching your old videos and they are great. One i watched was where you said you prefer the theatrical version of Enter The Dragon over the special edition. Like you, when i saw the extended version, and the dub on Bruce's voice when he speaks to Roy Ciao as the monk, it suprised and disappointed me, because ive heard Bruce in his own voice say most if not all of that dialogue. It was on a cassette that came out in the late 80's called the Bruce Lee tape i think and it was from the Bruce Lee association. I still have it somewhere. Its a collection of interviews as well as commentary on Bruce. Im sure they could have used that and improved the quality of the audio. Hope you dont mind me posting this here, couldn't remember the video you spoke about this on.

The Big Boss is actually my favourite & the extras for that alone has sold me on it. I've already bought and rebought Bruce's movies countless times over the years. I've pre-ordered Enter the Dragon 50th anniversary HMV cine edition but only because i missed Warner's 40th anniversary. I'm kind of not overly happy as it's thin on the ground with extra features. I jumped in as they were selling like hotcakes & being re-sold for silly money on Ebay & it kind of forced my hand as a result of, the theatrical cut of Enter the Dragon is my favourite Lee movie.

You can never have too much Bruce. Fill your boots! I was also at the Quad cinema in Derby. I could only stay for Big Boss. Quality looked good but didn’t blow me away but I don’t think the screen was up there with Showcase / CineWorld quality. What did impress me is how the additional footage has been inserted: Arrow has clearly gone to a lot of trouble adding the split seconds of missed dialogue as well as the meatier scenes.

Hi Stripey, Great channel, by the way. Highly entertaining and informative with great balance and flow. I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned or noticed, but I've pre ordered the hmv edition of the 4K enter dragon 50th annerversary (Not to be confused with the standard) and studying the pictures and description on the website. I have noticed it's limited to 1000 in HMV as opposed to 3000 with Zavi's. Not only that, in addition to that, there's another difference in the packaging. The hmv 'Enter the dragon' 4k is housed in the same red hardbox as the zavi, but it also alternatively contains a red steelbook with same outer hardbox art and a different inner art with multiple faces of Bruce in the room of mirrors. So the hmv is a red steelbook opposed to Zavi's gold steelbook. Both with different art. Now, with the Zavi steelbook, it's good as it has alternative art to the outer hardbox, but strangely enough, I feel the red HMV steelbook with the hardbox artwork on works better. The extras presumably, well, it should be the same one would think. However, from what I can see, there's no mention of what it actually entails on the HMV website. I wonder if HMV has any exclusive content as the 1000 is exclusive to them. Let me know your thoughts anyway and catch up soon on here, hopefully. Watched the way of the dragon yesterday and it looked great in 4k! Not that much HDR color pop in that one, but the definition is so clear. I struggled landing on an audio track, the mandarin had the best most believable voice acting, but the English one had a better punchier, more atmospheric mix. So I went with English, even though Bruce lee sounds like a CNN announcer, but you get used to it.

A HK cameraman( Sorry can't recall his name) film over hundreds of hours behind the scenes of Enter The Dragon. (Read in the old Impact action magazines) At the time he sent all the footage to Warner Bros in the 1970s. The mentality of the managers and heads of Warner destroyed them.. This gentleman is alive today and he has a copy. Back in the early 2000s all he wanted was $1000000. And he'll send the footage to them. But no, Warner didn't want to pay as they say it's their legal rights that they should get it back for free So the stand still is some smart guy should pay up at Warners and we'll see it in our lifetime😞. Also Warner Bros should use the best documentary used in the HK Museum of Bruce Lee and the excellent documentary where I walked out crying. It was so emotionally well made.

At least it includes both versions of the movie. Extras were never that good on the last discs anyhow. I don't buy discs so will see if my iTunes download of the movie will get a free upgrade to 4K. Thanks for the update mate

I'll order the £20 version now, I've already pre ordered the Arrow boxset. I could imagine some people would have liked Chuck Norris signature on it, but it gets released after Chuck's appearance in London.

Did you see the HMV Cine bluray edition that has some slight differences to the WB ultra edition? There’s only a 1,000 of those and got my pre-order in. Anyone else get this?

I saw the HMV Cine version last night, it looks like the ultimate collection with a different steelbook cover & inner (it does look nice), but for me, the extras are the same (I think anyway) Glad you have you're order in, mate. Enjoy. cheers pal 👍

I purchased the standard editions of both. I’ll trade out the Enter the Dragon Bluray for the 4K in the box set. Since im in the US I bought an inexpensive region free player to play the additional Region B discs in the box set.
