I also got a K9 as my first printer about a month ago! one thing that is super crucial to get good bed adhesion is to do 2 full passes of leveling using the 1-4 buttons and getting just the smallest amount of drag on a piece of paper between the nozzle and the print bed. the next thing is that you need to cover the printer with something like a clear storage tote if it isnt in a warm room with little to no air movement, because you want your first couple layers to cool slowly so they don't quickly contract and curl up away from the build plate. also if you are using Cura slicer, make sure you turn your retraction down to around 2.5-3.0mm from the default 6.5mm when printing PLA, that should help a lot, I'm testing it myself right now!

I used the back of an old CD case with double sided tape on top, in place of the build plate. It fits perfectly & the lip on both sides of the case prevent it from moving: Cover the top surface evenly with double sided tape on for adhesion. Level the bed before removing the protective layer of tape then print. Prints are smooth & removed cleanly & easily. When finished put the protective layer of tape back on sticky surface ready for next use. You should get around 4 prints out of it before needing to change the tape.

You'll be an incredible 3D printing guy!!! I remember me starting 3 years ago with an Ender 5 Pro that is really really sturdy but not the smartest printer and it helped me a lot to learn about how to calibrate everything manually, how to get the leveling right, how to slice nicely for that device. People around me are just starting with 3D printing and getting their Elegoo Neptunes or Anycubic Kobras or Ender 3 V3 and always ask me about WiFi, Cloud, Webcam and Auto-something-calibration, .... nothing! You simply hear and feel and see what is going on on your printer and how to get the desired results. I would recommend people to spend these 40-50 bucks and find out if 3D printing is something they enjoy. You can either fine-tune these tiny flimsy things and get really decent results or you upgrade quickly to like an Ender 3 V3 or something similar and give this one to another family member or friend for them to find out how it works. It's an awesome introductory toy!!

i made the experience that using the home brew slicer software isn't always the best path on operating a 3d printer. wasted 4 attempts on a ender 3 v3 se to get my first benchy printet until i switched to the ultimaker cura software which was a breeze to use and configure. with my easythrees k9 i only build the rocket so far. i was impressen how good it came out after first bed leveling. but if i find a ultimaker cura profile for it i will try some similar models for table top like you did. i heard there is a 3d print for holding spools on the table that only needs some ball bearings and then is good to go, but you solution seems to work to. so props to yiu for doing it cheaper. i also have to work on limited budget so everything done with means available is a win. quality over speed. if i can scrape some money i _might_ upgrade the ender 3 v3 se with a kit that turns up it's speed. it comes with a new touch display and a meaauring device for accerations that measures it's vibrations to optimise acceleration and thus use it's full potential. There are some videos on the easythreed k9 on upgrading it's rigidity out there too. one involves upgrading it's stiffness with 3d printed parts. this should improve build quality and thus print quality significantly. also exchanging board and stepper motors for speed. but those i guess need a bigger budged so i'll put them to later. your print quality is seriously impressive. hope to see more of this coming! congratulatuons for your patience. you deserve a commendation!

To solve the plate I have seen others use a glue stick. They run/run the glue stick across the plate. I have not tried yet.

I’ll give it a shot though I did learn that it wasn’t sticking because it wasn’t properly leveled. I haven’t had an issue since.

Also goth k9 and a tuned cura. And it can really move. The buildplate is a problem. I Tryd a glas plate with some sticky glu and that works super iam searching for a glas plate. I printed a ghost ship benchi.mine was 65 . You can also use tinkercad and then Export a stl and print everything you want.

if you are having issues with bed adhesion before ordering new build plate try an ordinary glue stick. it works wonders with this printer. i have the same setup ( even the same filament ) and i haven`t lost a print due to bed adhesion since i did.

The print bed rocks a tiny bit on mine. I am going to mount it against the printer with double sided tape or put another screw with a nut horizontal to the control box. I might also make some clamps to secure it to a board underneath. I am going the double sided tape first to see which is most effective. I will let you know if there is any improvement.

Those are neat little printers. But look into the ender 2 pro. They are around 150. And they print very good and are super user friendly. Also use brim build plate adhesion instead of the raft and tree supports. Or you can wait for the release date for the bambu labs a1. It’s 399. Or the a1 mini. Can’t go wrong with either one.

So, what about upgrages? Just hanging the roll up to the ceiling? Right?
@anthonypopp7954
@anthonypopp7954 6 ай бұрын
As far as upgrades go I’m not certain how far you can get with this thing without tampering with the device itself. The PLA roll arm that supposed to hang off the back doesn’t hold well so hanging it from whatever I can gives it a smoother travel to the melting tip

@bencastor9207 4 ай бұрын
@@anthonypopp7954 I wouldn't suggest upgrading because a Bambu Labs A1 Mini isn't that expensive and you can get great quality prints off of it, it's perfect for TTRPG miniatures. I still use my K9 for little parts like balls for my kids foosball table and things like that.

And here i sit even after a week with it and it refuses to print in the middle of the plate, Are you using Easyware or the Cura that came on the SD card?

Smal update . I have some new Springs. Just cut them down to size. And use the same screws. Now you dont heva to Level the each time. Also i cut down a metal plate. Down to de building size. And glued that to Magnetic plate. And use the glue stick on it. And i stoped using raft and brims. Works just super fine. The last time i leveld the bed and the nozzle is two weeks ago

Why are you gluing things lol It’s plastic🤣 a lighter, metal paper clip or sumn and “weld”. Record in landscape! Trying to use the right terms every time makes you stumble over ur thoughts. I’m guilty of this as well lol Plenty of apps and web sites now that’ll do just about everything relating to the software like turning a photo to a usable print, scaling things up or down, etc
