3d printing custom parts for gunpla has gotten big over the past couple of years alone. Even before the pandemic hit, it has been on a rise and companies like anubis has been selling resin 3d printed parts for gunpla since at least 2020 or earlier than that.

This has the same energy as an easy bake oven. It's just so small, looks cheap, looks like an obvious toy, but actually functions just as well (or almost as well) as a normal resin printer. The initial kickstarter $119 price point is also really really nice. Like, that basically makes it one of the most affordable 3d printers out there now and will open up the ability for more people to get involved in it.
@Zhinoi

It's only 40 bucks less than a normal resin 3D printer. For the limitations you place on your prints, it's definitely not worth it. This is seems like a niche thing to have just because.

I want one for the party trick of pulling it out on a dnd weekend trip, just to print that unexpected goblin friend that our party kidnapped or a baby owlbear our ranger insists on looking for after we killed it's parents. @@DonsArtnGameshow much do you think that plastic pallet costs? I dont think putting that money elsewhere would do anything
@DonsArtnGames
@DonsArtnGames 27 күн бұрын
@@LarsBakhuis It's not the cost of the pallets themselves that was a concern, but the time and costs of machining the molds for it and such. Earlier in development, they had trouble getting the wash and cure to integrate the mixing bar into the casing. I thought the money would have been better spent developing a better design for the mold and case.

320x240 is a huge dealbreaker. At $119.99, you should get at least a 2k screen on it. For $50 more you can get a full-scale resin printer with a 4k resolution from Anycubic.

@DonsArtnGames 28 күн бұрын
I find the 320 x 240 a bit misleading... When compared to most non-Mono LCD printers, TinyMaker actually puts out a better resolution than Sonic Phrozen and Elegoo Mars printers... it just lacks the build volume. When I ran the resolution into their build volumes, the Phrozen and Mars came in at 0.12 mm per pixel and TinyMaker came in at 0.09 mm per pixel. Granted I am comparing the non 2k / 4k / 8k / etc versions of the printers... At 2k, the resolution for many of the printers I compared averaged about 0.05 mm per pixel.

But I can see this tiny thing for something like a D&D party where players choose their characters and they get printed on the go, assuming wash&cure will manage it properly in reasonable time.

As someone who mainly uses my 3d printer for bits, basesm and other small accessories for my mini's this looks like a great solution I can use to supplument my main 3d printer. I wonder what the retail cost / quality is going to wind up being

WIth this small of resin volume would you say its safe to print without much ventilation? Would an open window be enough?

Man it looks so cute and probably involves less cleaning work like I have with my relatively huge Halot Mage printer. It's too small for the stuff I want to create, but looks fun

This would be a cool gimmick that would be nice for around 70 - 80 euros

I actually ordered this but had 2nd thoughts and canceled. Kind of glad I did now. It would look cool on a shelf though.

This looks like it could hit it big in the tabletop scene, given it's a great size for printing minis. If only it was a little easier to use.

the technology is definitely advancing, but i would say its 5 to 10 more years before this is plug and play and mobile like they tried to do. Very happy to see it developing in this branch of 3D printing. This is the kinda thing id have printing in my car plugged into the cigarette lighter with the windows cracked 20 years from now cuz i need a comb that day or somethin trivial lol

It's soo stinking cute 😂❤ I think this little printer would be perfect for like creating things like tiny simple necklace charms or earrings or all things like that where getting a huge one doesn't really justify it.

I could see myself using it to reprint those tiny-ass parts that don't really need a lot of resin. Maybe something with clear resin for glasses/jewelry and other accessories.
