The soft shelled Hummer didn’t really inspire confidence. This looks beautiful and capable. Hopefully they don’t go to crazy with digital systems. I still think analog systems and gauges have their place especially in harsh environments where technology often fails from durability issues. Hopefully an active protection system is in its future even though they are costly. However, active protection is vital in today’s theaters of asymmetric warfare & MOUT operations. Being able to defeat threats like chemical energy rockets from infantry and helicopters is necessary. We are behind Israel and Russia in this area which is just mind blowing. We definitely need to improve our systems for our armored vehicles.

Hp means nothing... It's torque that matters with this type of vehicle.
@rogerdavies62264 жыл бұрын
This is a diesel-electric vehicle and the motor just turns the generator which powers everything else on the vehicle including travel. it is so designed to also serve as a power unit for hospitals fob and anything that needs electric power reducing the military from relying on boat loads of generators (saving Money)

@@NoName-nf5xl yes, kzbin.info/www/bejne/e57IZ3aChceti68 please see 9:07 where the complex engine is covered by a bullet shield so thin it flaps in the wind. I wouldn't field this vehicle yet without a proper bullet shield over the powerplant. From a reliability in usage standpoint, the engine looks very complex, keeping it running under combat conditions is going to be difficult. See all those little wires, they all mean something to the ECU's. All those hoses, easily penetrated by shrapnel and bullets. Bullets can come from above, like in cities with fire from above from buildings, when vehicles get disabled in narrow streets, the entire convoy is put at risk.
@BeKindToBirds3 жыл бұрын
@@zio205iq2 Engines are replaceable, people aren't. Believe it or not the US Army knows a bit more about what is needed in their trucks than you do. If you want a vehicle that can carry troops and take heavy fire, you get an APC. Making the light vehicle into an APC makes it no longer a light vehicle. It isn't supposed to have an armoured powerplant, it's supposed to keep the people inside alive and drive them and some stuff around.
