Great magnet idea and running session. I can see you are going to get hours of fun with shunting those wagons. Cheers Malcolm
@robertstrainset65563 ай бұрын
Hi Malcolm, Not so much shunting more a train comes in and the loco uncouples and runs around or just uncouples and another engine takes it out as well as putting the wagons where they need to be so cheers for watching and your very nice comments watch the next video for another way to uncouple. Cheers Robert.

Hi Robert, The video is beautiful and took me back to 1965 when I received two Rivarossi trains from my parents. At that time Rivarossi provided a straight section of track with the magnet set in the center and a paul to signal the position where the wagon unhooked. The hooks were made of metal so there was no need to do anything else. Congratulations a simple and effective solution. Thumbs up for the video and have a great weekend. Alberto 👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊

Hi, Yes there a nice wagon they even make them in O gauge but I bet the real ones were not in as good a condition as mine!!!! I thank you for watching and your very nice comments I hope you are keeping well. Cheers Robert.

It has been a while since I watched your progress on you layout and I am very impressed by what you have achieved it’s such a well build and thought true layout you have created there. And it was very interesting to se the magnet coupling system in funktion. Thank you so very much for sharing.

Hi Jean, Well thank you for watching this time and your very nice comments yes its coming along ok so watch on Friday to see another way of uncoupling. Cheers Robert.

Hi Robert, using the magnets has been a real eye opener for me. I have ordered some to try for myself. Thank you for showing this. Watching your trains running it looks like a really good fix for this.

Hi, Thats what YT is all about showing our hobby and helping if we can as I said good luck with the Magnets I hope your eyes are good and the fingers nimble. Cheers Robert.

@@robertstrainset6556 haha my eyes are fading fast. I have bought a pair of close up glasses with LED lights on, they are like being 16 again when I could actually see to paint small figures.

Hi Anthony, As always thank you very much for watching and your very nice comments and in the next video even another way to uncouple rolling stock. Cheers Robert.

Hi Robert - That was a very good idea using magnets and it does solve a hands free uncoupling as yiu say just needs a little fettling. Cheers Kev
@robertstrainset65563 ай бұрын
Hi Kev, Thanks for watching and your very nice comments watch on Friday for another way to do uncoupling. Hope you are all well and your layout is progressing ok. Cheers Robert.

That really is very impressive Robert. I have awful problems with uncoupling when doing shunting or running round. I have tried making my own with clear plastic strips and had some success. Well done.
@robertstrainset65563 ай бұрын
Hi Philip, Clear plastic strips do work as do the hornby ramps but this is not so visible so I am happy it does seem to work ok. Cheers as always for watching and your very nice comments. Cheers Robert.

Hi John, Yes it works well but as I said there is a bit of fiddleing to do but simple it is. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments will look forward to seeing your take on it. Cheers Robert.

Morning Robert. Good to see you are well. Looks like you've put a lot of thought, and effort into this, and it has paid off. Really good idea. It must add so much more playability. Really enjoyed this video. Take care Robert l. Lee

Hi Lee, Your one video behind my latest is on the Bachmann class 31 with the auto uncoupler but thank you for watching this and your very nice comments so with the 31 I now have 3 ways to uncouple hopefully that will be enough. Yes I am well and I hope you are also and are you going to GETS this year I am going on the Sunday as to much hassel on the Saturday for the parking hope to see you there. Cheers Robert.
@leewhall25043 ай бұрын
Is 3 ways enough though?? Hahaha. Yes, I am 1 vid behind, but every now and then I get a sunday morning to binge watch and catch up, and you are always on my list. To be honest, with GETS, I was so put off last year by the way it was run and it was so packed, it was ridiculous. I was also thinking of sunday this year, hoping it might not be so busy. If I do go Robert, I'll say hello as always, and maybe a pint? I'll look at your latest vid and comment as always. Take care my friend, and best regards as always. Lee

@robertstrainset65563 ай бұрын
Hi Adi, Not my idea but it does work ok so I am pleased the more ways you can uncouple automaticely with different couplings must be good. Thanks for watching and your very nice comments keep well and running your trains. Cheers Robert.
@gordonmcillroy4553 ай бұрын
Well done with the magnets Robert. Iv'e been messing around with similar ideas with less success than you. Being able to use Kadees and a mix of original couplings is a great notion. Kadees are so prohibitively expensive now and im far from convinced by hunts couplings. I will continue to experiment.
@robertstrainset65563 ай бұрын
Hi Gordon, Yes hunt couplings and the like are great but no good if you want to uncouple automaticely so I am pleased with this and now have a couple of ways to do it whatever the couplings are. Thanks very much for watching and your very nice comments. Cheers Robert.

Sorry for choking so much, I've got a cold. I received a Royal Mail Parcel of my own today. What have you purchased? I hear you ask. It's a pre-owned model engine from Rails of Sheffield, and this time it's not a steam engine. I'll give you a clue: it's the one kind of engine I hate with a vengeance.

Coupling and uncoupling, the age old problem.
@robertstrainset65563 ай бұрын
Hi Andy, Yes but on an end to end i do not want to have to uncouple with the hand of god so the more ways I can do it the better see my next video on another way to do it. As always thank you very much for watching and your very to the point comment. Cheers Robert.

Hi Alan, Thanks for watching and your interesting comment but as I said in this the big D's are fixed and yes I know they can be changed but I do not want the expence and time that would take so for £10 I have made these uncoupable and if you watch the next video I have another way to do it also and with any of these systems it is getting the train in the right place so it works. Thank you for your input and hope yours is doing ok also. Cheers Robert.
