Update on 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD off road with 10000kms

Nice video, love the truck! I just ordered a 2023 Tundra SR5 TRD off road in the same colour (though I went with the double cab and the 6.5' box since we have no kids so it's just our dogs in the back), super excited to get it but it's going to be a long wait. I had K02's on my old Ram and they were fantastic, I definitely want to get them for the Tundra as well. This will be my first Toyota, hopefully I love it as much as you do. Although it's going to be my wife's daily driver since her work pays for her fuel, I'll only get to play with it on weekends. Nice to see a video from Ontario too! Enjoy the truck, it's a beauty!

Good vid luv you accepted the scuff marks, reminds me of the scars on my face and body from living & not observing. I mostly too agree with your review as I luv my 22’ TRD off road. I do wish the buttons just below the radio screen were easier to read in the day time and I wish the the gas door had an inside release. I had too put front tow hooks on and a bed step as I see them as a necessity.

Love it love it love it! Finally some Canadian driving videos! Yeah, I had my 21’ Tundra stolen out of my driveway in Mississauga a year ago. So I have no choice I’m buying a new Tundra in January. So keep the videos coming, I’m always on the 401 driving and relieved to hear the mileage numbers. Thanks so much.

Great video from a real tundra buyer..I looking to buy soon and you gave me more confidence to consider a toyota tundra more...I've owned a 2003 corolla.. 2009 matrix..2015 rav4 and now I completely love 2019 rav4 LXE...now want to go bigger with a truck....keep updating us...thanks

Your very welcome. I honestly love the truck, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in all the “truck wars” and what they all have and don’t have. I love Toyota and always have, I look forward to driving it everyday and it hasn’t let me down. I would recommend or at least have people give them a shot. But people will buy what they want and that’s our right as consumers, I love my tundra though.

I have 13500km on my 2022 tundra sr5 off road. i like the truck. i am disappointed with the fule economy and its not as tough as the previous truck. also those don't look like the tires that come with that truck mine are not aggressive.

I upgraded my tires right at the dealer on day one, didn’t even drive the factory tires, I love the K02 tires and I just sold the originals. I didn’t own the last generation so I can’t comment on “toughness” but I’m happy with my fuel mileage compared to other full size vehicles. I owned a Honda Ridgeline once and they get about the same fuel mileage and this is full size and way more capable. I do love the 10 speed transmission too.

I ordered a similar truck in Canada, sr5 TRD offroad, army green, a 2023-year model. The only thing I am concerned about is a lot of videos that point out the terrible interior quality in the new Tundras, Based on some videos, the consensus is that the Limited trim has a better fit and finish. How do you like your interior build quality? Is it worth upgrading to the limited trim? Do you use the TRD features(Crawl control, locker..)?

I have never had a complaint about the interior quality. I think most of my videos would show that I’m not really buying the truck for it’s fit and finish anyways, I’m a Toyota guy who has always had Toyota trucks. I have zero complaints about the interior other then the lighting could be a bit better and the button for the rear window could be bigger, that’s all really. I was in a limited once for a test drive and didn’t notice much different. Please just enjoy the truck you bought, no need to worry about this and that on the interior, it’s a very nice new truck that you will enjoy and love driving. I have used some of the off road goodies just to try them all out but not in any serious off road conditions. I think I’ll wait to get a bit of age on this truck before I start off road if it too hard, I have my 1988 Toyota diesel pickup for that! But give me a few years and I’ll get this one a bit more off road credibility

Look up the video of the AFE tow hooks on the 2022 Tundra. They look pretty decent. They replace the sway bar brackets.

What size tire? I put Same bfg 275 70 18. I can't get anything under 14L/100km hwy only 3000km on mine. Right now my avg is 15.5

Same size, at 120km per hrs on the highway I average about 12.5, I have had it as low as 11.5 in the summer. Sounds stupid but obviously wind direction also plays a huge role, the other day it was very windy and I couldn’t get much below 14 or so.

How do you like those running boards? I would prefer the TRD ones, but the $1500 price tag is a little ridiculous. I’ll probably go with the boards you have when my rig lands.

Yeah that’s what I thought, honestly it says Tundra and TRD everywhere on the truck already, these running boards are great and I didn’t really need more “TRD” stuff. They were a decent price and I installed them in about 20 mins
