I like your style. My local chain garage wanted to do a piece here and there. I'm going to visit a private garage and have the entire assembly redone. Sure, those old bearings looked good, but for another 300,000 km? Those B6 will last a long time.

@@ZakiGarage you and MB212 are the only two guys I watch for W212 stuff ❤️🫶🏻

Thank you, my w212 also needs strut replacement, this helps me out a lot!

Good questions, I didn't explain it in the vid. Bilstein B4 would be factory equivalent, while B6 would be the stiffer shock at factory height. So yes, they are stiffer and there is a big difference now in the ride quality which I like. A lot of the improvement is due to I had bad old shocks, body roll is gone, had suspicion noises that got resolved, more stable at high speed. Why? I had B6s installed on my E46 10 years ago and its the best riding car I still have. If you are not into the stiffer ride would recommend going with the much cheaper OE options like the SACHS, B6 is much more expensive and isn't for everyone especially on an MB.

@@ZakiGarage thank you for responding, I'm not a fan of stiff rides so I'll stick to the SACHS I guess.

This is a fantastic video. Why did you go with the B6 shocks versus B4? I’m curious to know
@ZakiGarage22 күн бұрын
Thx. Well, had B6 installed on my E46 BMW 10 years ago and till today it's my favorite handling and stable car with those shocks.

I wish I saw this video a day earlier! I just ordered a set of B4s because I thought I had to use “dampmatic “ for code 485 W212. What are your thoughts on this?
@ZakiGarage22 күн бұрын
@@raveservice3749 First time hearing of the dampmatic. I checked my vin and I also have code 485, I don't think I looked at that code when buying. I don't think there is anything wrong with the B4s since they should be OE spec, going for the stiffer B6 is a preference thing. If I didn't care for the B6s I would have got the cheaper OE sachs shocks.

Okay that’s good to know. I should have my order come in next week. I’ll let you know how it goes. I’ll have to make do with Vaico stop bumps since I cannot find Febi. Your videos are great. Thank you.

How's the ride quality after installing the B6 struts? More stiff than before?
@Blast69263 ай бұрын
Why did you chose Bilstein B6 shocks? Are they more comfortable? Or cheaper?

As always great video. Just curious what was the mileage on the W212?
@ZakiGarage2 ай бұрын
Thanks . It has 230k km. Had an old bill from when the car was 130k that said shocks work with no details. To my surprises seems the mounts the only thing changed at the time not the struts.

Having a hard time finding exact pair online. Could I buy coupe struts? But still install onto the base RWD 2010 w212?

Also had a hard time figuring out what part number and where to get it from. But here is what I'll do: 1. Find the current MB part number for your shocks. 2. On the Bilstein website check their catalog for the matching shock with the MB#. 3. usually can find the Bilstein shocks on ebay from European sellers or from European car part website.
