I loved watching how your girls sat on the floor in the room while you had your infusion. It reminded me of my 4 eldest daughters when they were younger. I've had many a pregnancy check ups just like that and they all sat so sweetly like your babies did. ❤️ My older girls are now able to watch my younger ones at home when I have midwife appointments.

I'm pregnant with my 5th as well and I learned something about iron supplements I never knew. My nurse told me you have to take the iron supplements at a different time than your prenatal vitamin because it won't absorb as well. Also, you're supposed to take it with vitamin C to help it absorb better. Idk if your doctor tried that with you, but wanted to put it out there in case it will help someone else. Like I said, I had never heard that before.

Yes, and not take it with dairy because foods high in calcium prevent absorption!

For a long time I got infusions for my lupus and it was like a spa day. I’m so glad it went well for you. Prayers for the rest of your pregnancy and your anemia.

When taking iron it is imperative to take vitamin C for absorption. Also,when eating iron rich foods, do not drink coffee or tea at least 1 hours before or after. 2 hours is optimal. Bump up your vitamin C. Good luck.

I was severely anemic. In order to absorb iron you have to take it twith vitamin-c. A doctor told me this and it was LIFECHANGING!

I've been diabetic and pre-eclampsia with all 3 of my pregnancies, and there are always 3 appointments a week in the last 6weeks lol so I know the feelings!! I'm currently pregnant with #3. I take my older ones with me too :-).we bring snacks etc as well!! ♡ my girls love going to my appointments!!

In 2021 I had to get iron infusions as I was very anemic and they definitely take a bit to kick in!😅 I remember being SO tired and just bleh feeling afterward but I think it was by the third or fourth one that my energy really came back! Hopefully, these work great for you!🥰

Very nice clinic for IV infusions. When I’ve gone for them it was a small room with 5 patient chairs and no room to bring anyone. I hope your feeling better after them.

Iron infusions saved me. But it was 4 weeks of 2 a week to feel better. Mainly noticed after I had my son. I did a lot better after the infusions than I did with no infusions and my daughter.

I had an iron infusion and a blood transfusion after the birth of my twins. Wow did it make me feel SO much better. Hopefully you won’t need a blood transfusion. My girls were in the NICU and I wasn’t allowed to leave the room and my husband had to leave me to go check on the girls. Prayers for you and little guy.

I had low iron several times pregnant and bf. No otc pills worked, they don't absorb. I read in my natural book to take ancestral blood and liver capsule then 2 spoonfuls of molasses daily. Even my stores, ferritin levels were extremely low and in 2 weeks both levels were good. I still take them till I'm done nursing just to be safe. It was amazing how better I felt! Oh I was also told babies born to low iron moms have more color, they look tan lol I found this true.

You could try taking natural iron in the form of beef organ vitamins along with vit b12 and folate. Many women do have low ferritin levels;)

When my iron got low I was sent to have several infusion's and the only problem I had was I was so achy all over like the flu and the Doctor told me when your iron is really low your body needs it so bad that it absorbs it so fast that is what causes your body aches. I am so excited about baby Rhett arriving. You and John are such amazing parent's and are raising such really great children. I have regular Iron infusions due to chronic anemia. I can always tell when it’s time for an infusion because I start craving ice. I know it sounds weird right? It is a form of PICA though and when I researched ice craving it points to anemia. Good thing though, I have never had any type of reaction or side effects from iron infusions. I can’t even tell I’ve had one. I don’t get tired, or nauseous.. nothing at all. It usually takes two - three infusions before you start to feel better. Hope your last infusion goes great!

I just got done getting iron infusions. They are usually quick and easy. Mine take about 15 minutes. In 2 days you will feel more energy. One time it only took an hour! No worries. Wish I had gotten them sooner.

I've always been low iron but in like 2017 it got so bad I had to get an infusion it is now 2023 and I am still OK in Iron, I heard they last for 5 years or so, I guess I better go get checked again I do seem to be tired a bit more lately!
