About the book of Proverbs which is a great book. My sister and I picked our favorite verse every other month from the book of Proverbs for 31 months to learn. At the end we recited 31 verses at one time each. What a great learning experience. We have been doing this for 10 years. We just pick a verse every other month based on what place our life is in at that given month from daily devotions.

I had friends close the open game room upstairs to be the bedroom they needed. They also platformed the vaulted entry to be a homework/office nook. Just fyi for a family that turned their 4 bedroom house into 5 and a flex space. Increased their home value very inexpensively. Beautiful family! Inside and out.

I love Proverbs also. Yes. It does apply to our daily lives. I love the challenge you are doing to memorize the book of Proverbs. I respect your decision to pull away from Instagram and spend that time with your family. It's so true that family is SO important. You both are so responsible financially. God had provided a home and a car for you at this time. What a blessing. I'm sure if it's meant to change at a later time, God will make it happen. When our whole family is home, I wish we had more space but I'm trying to be content with what we have and make the best of it. Blessings on the birth of your baby.

Stinkin Amazing about the Bible verses. We have 6 kids and they are now teenagers. We have only had one bathroom and our kids share 2 bedrooms. It has been Great and they learn so much about how to get along with people.

About houses? What about dividing the large room upstairs? I’ve been thinking that for a while. It looks like the bedrooms for the girls are for bedtime and the big room for play. After 27 years of marriage and 2 children who are nearly 25 and 22 who at the moment have decent jobs we have not really fought through or marriage. We have small disagreements like everyone does but major ones - never really.

There is a school curriculum that has an award for a student who memorizes the book of Proverbs. No set schedule, but if they do about a chapter per week, they are done before school lets out in the spring.

The question about discipline - as parents you need to both be on the same pages and back each other up. I have some friends who are not doing that and the mother is favouring the oldest of 3 and the oldest goes and ask their father and does not get the answer they want and then they go to their mother who just agrees to what the child wants. This is going to backfire on the parents when that child get older as that child will always go to the mother to get what they want regardless as to what it was.

❤. About the fighting - I think there is a lot of truth to the idea that the longer your married the less you fight. I know my spouse and I had so many disagreements for like years 1 - 7. Honestly, maybe the biggest factor was the kids were so young during the first 7 years. But as the kids got older we were able to show more grace and kindness to ourselves and each other. Just being able to sleep and eat at normal and decent amount was hugely significant. Then as the kids grew, they were more self sufficient and developed interests and hobbies. I don’t think you realize how much stress little ones can put on a marriage until they are older. Then you are like - wow, this adult and marriage stuff is a piece of cake.

It's interesting because with some couples it's the complete opposite. They fight less when the kids are young because life is so busy they don't have the time and energy to fight. But when the kids are gone suddenly you aren't as easily distracted by the craziness of life so you're more likely to be aggravated about certain situations. I'm sure it's different for every couple though.

You actually have plenty of room in the house you have now. And it's so perfectly set up with the extra room downstairs for the schoolroom and the way the kitchen is open on the living room and dining room. Just take the bonus room upstairs and convert into a couple more bedrooms. Then you could take one of the bedrooms and turn that into a small office or the playroom for Macy and Rhett.

I love what you’re doing to try and memorize it all. I did a challenge with it last year where I read one chapter every day, and of course that would take me a month to do with the 31 chapters, but I did it every single month for a year.
