Hi…1st time watching and boy did you answer a lot of my questions. I live in Zone 5 (Upstate NY, near Albany). Your program is informing especially for newbies trying not to raise Moringa. I lost so much cash on EBay😢 😩😢. Finally, I connected with the Grow Moringa man, Kindred Allen in Plant City, Fl. Bought some of his tree branches and 3 of them are actually growing branches. I wanted to bust out crying or laughing. I was happy to see life coming from just sticking the limbs in soil! I will be tuned in regularly to see how your plants are doing! Blessings, Bettie🙋🏽‍♀️

This might help you. I live in zone 5a, Canada, Montreal. I grow many tropical plants in large pots. What I have learned is that one third of the soil will be dry and I thought that they needed to be watered, so I would water the plant, which was wrong. I learned this trick from a professional plant master how to gage the water levels in the pot. He took a large plastic stick and poked that stick all the way to the bottom of the pot. When he took it out he could see where the moist soil stuck to the stick. That meant that the roots are still moist. When he would see that the soil only stuck 1/5 of the stick that meant that it was time to water. He would water a little at a time and let the water penetrate the soil as far as it would. Then he would use his stick to see where the water stopped penetrating the soil and he would add more until the full stick was covered with moist soil. I hope this helps to gage the water levels of your long pots.

Very informative. Thank you. I''m in Michigan and only just learned about this plant being a wonderful supplement. Figured I'd see what kind of plant and yea this one seems easy. So you don't have any videos on USING the leaves do you?

This is my first attempt on growing moringa and doing it from seed! (6a Ct) I know the process will be challenging but you have given me inspiration that it can be done in Connecticut! On my research I found you again! I've been subbed to your channel for a while now. Thank you for sharing! Blessings!

I managed to get one moringa through the winter 🤗 I have to grow them in containers as well. I left it over winter in the garden shed and there was only a dry stick left but it came came back in spring. 🌱😸

I was just talking about how much I love Moringa tea and wondered if I could grow it in PA. I did a KZbin search and you are the first video I came across. Super informative video. I will invest in a grow light. I will also check out your channel. Thank you for making this video. God Bless and God Bless our plants

So glad I found you! I've had moringa seeds for some time but being in 5a, I didn't think I could grow them. But I'm SUPER excited to see this could be possible. Two things, first, is it really as easy as just putting the seed in soil? Typically, trees are challenging to grow from seed, and I haven't learned how to do that yet. Also, what are your grow lights? I'd love to get a set that I can just up like that with minimal space required (and hopefully inexpensive).

I started a moringa from seed in February. Put it in the ground around June 1st at 14 inches. September 1st now and it is 7 feet. I’m in 5b as well. It was just an experiment and I know it will not last the winter, even if I cut it to the ground (frost line is 4 feet). I might hack off some branches and put them in pots by a southern window. Hoping to plant a bunch in the ground next year. Love munching on the leaves.

Hi! I'm enjoying and profiting from your videos about growing moringa trees in a cold climate. I am trying to do the same thing, and so I appreciate hearing your experiences and suggestions! We love in zone 6, in Central Utah. I have a few questions -- how do you determine when to water your moringa if the finger test doesn't work -- as it appeared it didn't in this video? Do you wait until the leaves show signs of stress? Do you water once a week on average, or less? And how much water, are you using, approximately, each time you water? I know that would vary depending on season and conditions, but could you perhaps give me a ball park average? I would really appreciate it!

Morniga loves temps above 60 degrees I’m in zone 9B and have been growing morning four years from seed I have learned so much due to having friends and family from other countries who have morniga trees etc I would say the key to growing morniga outdoors is pruning second full sun third feeding composting or high nitrogen source. I also find out that they can grow without feeding or watering for months and can grow any type of soil. I had the same issue as you did when growing it indoors I agree 100% I prune my morniga heavy every year in the middle of full and place mulch around the basses to keep the tap root warm have you tried that ?

Thank you for your comment. I'm in zone 5b and our frost depth generally ranges between 24' and 36″ I'm still experimenting with how much mulch I need to insulates soil that deep.

If you chop them off, do they ever get to the point that they flower and produce pods. I'm in zone 6b, and I got two pods this year, but the tree itself is probably 4 ft tall with just a few branches of leaves.

J’habite à Paris, donc assez froid 😅. Vous semez des graines et repiquez ou alors vous mettez une graine par pot définitivement ? Merci infiniment de me renseigner, car on m’en a données une vingtaine. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I'm having the same problem with watering. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. I can't say what the zone is because it appears that there isn't a consistent chart for me to follow. But getting back to Moringas what do you think if we watered from the bottom?? Since the soil is dry from the top to halfway down we have no way of knowing what is going on at the bottom. If we water from the bottom then if the plant needs water it will take it up from the bottom. What do you think? Hope I'm making sense.

place pot in a dish with 1 inch deep water( I would use potting mix, water would go down itself, I use 1/2 gallon milk container with a few holes 1/2 inches from bottom to let water out.)
