Hey @lifewithpal it says drain free operation I just got an hour ago, if I'm not running humidifier and if I'm only running a/c do I still have to drain it? I figured I would need to drain it I'm using dehumidifier, we just need it for a/c but I figured check like once aday if it would need drained cuz water can build up
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal 2 ай бұрын
I drain it periodically when running the a/c after a few days. It may vary by user and climate but even using the a/c some condensation does build up. Since I live in a drier climate I find that checking it once a week is best. It also depends on how long you will be running the a/c as well. So i would suggest checking it every weekly If you are running the unit for short periods of time on a daily basis. If you will be using the a/c at a prolonged period (over an hour at a time) check it every few days.

have you had to clean the coils? if so how often have you needed to clean it? I have this model and it cycles a lot so i wondering if it’s the coils
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal Жыл бұрын
The AC unit has an access panel you can remove and clean the coils. You can dust them or use a vacuum with a hose attachment. There are filters that can be rinsed. I clean it at least once a week or at most once a month. It may depend on your environment. I showed how to remove the panel for the coils in this video at around 1:59. Sorry for the poor sound quality, however. kzbin.info/www/bejne/babbiaKcl9h9ppY

Do you know if we're able to use these when its smokey outside from wildfire smoke? Thanks

@LifewithPal 11 ай бұрын
That I can't answer. I would say you could contact the company and ask. www.hisense-usa.com/contact I would think that would be your best bet. I did find this info via the EPA: If you have a portable air conditioner with a single hose, typically vented out of a window, do not use it in smoky conditions because it can result in more smoke being brought inside. Consider other cooling options like a fan or window air conditioner. www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/wildfires-and-indoor-air-quality-iaq#:~:text=If%20you%20have%20a%20portable,fan%20or%20window%20air%20conditioner.

I don't have a remote for the AC unit and it keeps dripping off every 2 minutes and never cools down the room. What can I do?
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal Ай бұрын
sorry for the late reply. It could be that the ac unit has the over heat switch triggered. You can unplug the unit and press the reset button on the back of the plug. You may need to test it in another outlet just to see if it's not an overload issue. Aside from that I don't have any othe suggestions.

The manual states the unit will utilize lower, quieter fanspeeds in sleep mode. Mine is just as loud as in high speed so I end up shutting it off but that's when I need it most. Have you had any issues with this?
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal 9 күн бұрын
i'd never used the sleep mode until now. What I noticed was a slight decresase in the fan sound and that the unit panel goes dark. Aside from that I didn't really notice any major differenece. I'm wondering if that may be more for the fan mode possibly. Sorry I couldn't be of much more help.

Can you leave it constantly running or do you have to turn it off while you’re not home?
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal 10 ай бұрын
Personally, I've never done this or tried it so I can't say. But, I know that the AC unit has an overheating sensor so it will automatically shut off if it's been running for too long and the plug gets heated. You can set a timer and have it run for a set number of hours.

Hello, my hisense AC keeps shutting off during cool mode. Sometimes it'll be 5 mins and sometimes longer. I'm trying to figure out why. I cleaned the filter and drained it as well. The placement of the unit seems like a good enough spot. Not sure what else to do, I just got it and it's new. Please help. Thank you!
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal Ай бұрын
the only other suggestion I can give is unplug the ac unit and press the reset button. It could be an issue with the sensor that's triggered into thinking it's over heating. You can also try using the unit in a different outlet to see if it does the same thing. If that doesn't work you may need to buy a new unit.

The outlet could be not powerful enough to run the AC unit. You can unplug the unit and press the reset button and try it in another plug. You may have to return the unit if that doesn't solve the issue. HiSense has a how to video on the issue too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6DRp5KnjdqoesUsi=kFYAzRK3Tau_K6l5

This can happen if it's too powerful for the plug it's connected to. You may want to unplug the unit and press the reset button. Or try it in a different plug. if this doesn't work you can contact the brand by visiting the link below: www.hisense-usa.com/contact

The fan mode is just that a fan so it won't really cool. You can try unplugging it pressing the reset button and moving it to a different outlet to see if it works better. If not it could be a sensor issue. I also found these two articles that might help the issue. If not you may need to reach out to Hisense customer support. www.luce.sg/blog/e5-error-code-on-hisense-air-conditioner howtopro.us/how-to-fix-the-e5-error-on-your-hisense-air-conditioner/

This seems to be a common issue lately I personally haven't experienced this yet. You can try unplugging it and pressing the reset button. Then plugging the unit back in after a few minutes. It may also be a sensor issue that is triggered because it senses the system is overheating. I found these two articles that try to help fix the issue. www.luce.sg/blog/e5-error-code-on-hisense-air-conditioner howtopro.us/how-to-fix-the-e5-error-on-your-hisense-air-conditioner/

Can you tell me why it shuts off then comes back on again.
@LifewithPal
@LifewithPal 14 күн бұрын
It could be that the unit needs to be reset this coud be due to the unit being too powerful for the outlet. Unplug the unit and press the reset button on the back of the power plug. Or it could be that it thinks the water tank is full. So may try to empty the water tank. There is a drain at the base of the back of the unit you can remove the cap and place a pan or something under it to catch the water. Once it's empty you can replace the cap and turn the unit back on.

For me I check it every few days. i'd been using the unit off and on for the past week and drained it on Sunday. It had about an inch of water in it. This will depend on your usage and overall enviroment.
