It was so interesting to hear Luke explaining Faith and Hope’s particular behaviours. It was then amazing to see Mr Yo-yo deciding to jump the fence and join in the proceedings with the effect of instantly reassuring Faith and Hope that their new environment and new humans are safe and caring. I know it is often said - Aunty Sam and Uncle Luke are really amazing people.

I adopted a grown dog about a yr old that was found in woods with a litter of puppies. The only way the rescue org could capture her was to take her puppies. I have had her 3 years now and she still flinches if you toss anything her way. She is always looking at what is in my hand and will back off if she see an object in my hand. She will come up to me if I am laying down and loves affection. She also loves other dogs.People must have thrown things at her when she was in the woods. I named her Rabbits. I love her so much. Both of the tips of her ears were cut off.Anyway there are alot of dogs like this in the shelters. Thank youboth

I have to admit that many a time after witnessing this I have had really bad thoughts of how I'd love the opportunity to make the people responsible have to cower in fear themselves . Even if it was just once, so they understood what it felt like to be terrified and powerless. Probably bad of me, and I've wrestled with my conscience over it...but I'm sorry there are no words strong enough to describe my loathing of people capable of doing this.

This is an incredibly powerful video! Luke's calm explanation of a situation that is obviously emotionally painful for him is both heart-wrenching and beautifully touching. To hear him empathize with Hope and Faith as they deal with their PTSD makes it clear that they are in the right place to begin healing. Add Mr. Yo-Yo's calm, confident, friendly aura, and Sam's gentle guidance of the questions, and the mix becomes a complete package of hope, healing, compassion, and love. Luke, several times you paused.. I could feel the knot in your throat. You definitely understand PTSD and how it has affected Faith and Hope. I too have been diagnosed with PTSD after 25 years in emergency medical services. Triggers are real. As a mom to 4 boxers, 2 have crossed the rainbow bridge…Faith and Hopes journey is really hitting me hard. I know they are in the best possible place now. As someone with C-PTSD myself I find watching the dog going through their own trauma recovery so interesting. There's been some great research into animals helping people retrain their autonomic nervous system out of fight/flight/freeze mode to a more natural healthy response system. It's amazing to see how dogs can help other dogs in the same way. Cognitive therapy obviously doesn't work for them but that connection to to another living being probably has an even greater impact. The work you guys do is wonderful. I so love your focus on positive reinforcement.

Watching these videos about faith & Hope brings me to tears, just seeing the reactions to Luke moving his arm, it’s just so pretty obvious they are from an abusive background. It is so sad to think that they have not had even the smallest amount of love, they don’t even know what it is to be petted, kissed and cuddled 😥Poor beautiful girls, if anyone can bring them around you guys can. They so deserve a great life and you and the DDFT are the absolute perfect team to do that. ( case in point, freddo, yoyo, shadow etc ) these are all model dogs now👍🏻. YoYo was determined about coming over the fence! Hope and Faith noticeably relaxed when YoYo arrived on scene. There has been a couple of times) other video also where the boxers seemed much more open to coming to Sam. When you see the happy dog YoYo is now, you know there is a way forward for Hope and Faith.

It was amazing the difference in Faith and Hope when Yoyo came in - they saw the trust he had with humans, confident body language with his waggy tail and relaxed attitude - a great role model! Those boxer girls will only have the best opportunity to rehabilitate under your care at the farm.

I had just been thinking it would be great to have another dog demonstrate how it's done and then Yo volunteered. How beautiful that he's able to help other dogs just like him, heal and find joy again. The shelter dogs that find themselves at the farm, are an incredibly lucky few indeed and I think they know it.

It was almost like day and night the change in Hope and Faith once YoYo made his entrance into the area. And at the end, to see Faith actually eat out of Uncle Luke's hand - and probably Hope too. Amazing. Glad YoYo is there for a week and pray that his presence helps Hope and Faith begin to trust Uncle Luke even without his presence.

The fact that Yo yo will be there for a week, on holiday,, is such a plus for these fearful dogs. Some of the other rescues will no doubt help, as well. I’m thinking of Freddo, Maggie, Barney, Bailey, and Lily, in particular. I feel so sad for Hope and Faith, but I know that time and patience and the healing pack will help them overcome their fear of humans.

If you look at how Shadow reacted to her puppies, it's probably normal for over-breed dogs to see puppies as another burden put upon them and they become intolerant. Shadow is tolerant now but she does not engage with the puppies when they come up to her; she either ignores them or walks away.

I thought that & also maybe had the same poor response from her mother & was not able to bond & learn about bonding. 💕

@@jellyJen2000 That's very true! The way you are treated by your mother when you are young does affect your nurturing as an adult. They probably never received affection from their own mothers and this resulted in them not knowing what affection is, and have had to depend on just their instincts which involved just doing what was needed to keep the puppies alive! We will never know how many generations this has been happening for them. Humans have other humans who are triggers for them, so I can see the same happening with Faith and Hope when they are around puppies. Faith and Hope are blessed that they have Luke in their lives to understand why they react as they do, and Sam is the best interviewer, knowing which questions to ask so we receive the answers to our questions.

Remember that video where Sam was overwhelmed and crying at the idea of sending YoYo back to the shelter, so they didn't? What a pivotal moment for him. He stayed in doggy paradise, continued to thrive, and is now living his best life. Such a great call, Sam. You're an angel in a sea of angels at the farm 😇 💖
