Update on my 1967 Leyland Titan Double Decker Bus !!

I was overwhelmed by the bus community showing so much love for my purchase of the Leyland Titan I've decided to do a miniseries to keep you updated on the changes I’m making to the bus and future plans for it (including driving it once again!!)

Contact Greater Manchester Museum of Transport, they have 3 ex Stockport Leyland Titans of similar vintage, in fully restored condution. You will at least see what your bus originally looked like.

It’s a former Stockport Corporation Leyland PD2, with an East Lancs body, powered by a Leyland O.600 engine with a 4 speed gearbox with synchromesh on the top 3 gears, so not a crash gearbox.

How big is its engine ..?? As in 6 litre v12 or whatever …

Crash gearbox means no synchromesh and you'll have to double de clutch changing down gears. Should have bought London Routemaster - you can drive that in auto.

For dealing with the double skin roof panels check out Pete and His Bus (its a Park Royal/Weymann Routemaster but principle applies)

Removing the inner roof panels you will be down to the outer skin so be careful you don`t want to be putting holes in it.....I had a PD2 i dont half miss the ol girl ,engine had a great sound on tick over, get yours started and you will hear what i mean.

Yeah true ..!! I’ll see how many holes it has already when it next rains..! Ps.. it’s engine sound I assume will be best described as “ agricultural “ 😂😂

Does this one have a Leyland Engine . I dont know how many PDs came with gardeners( they tended to be fitted more as an option on Daimler Vehicles). (ahh , seen other comment Leyland O(oil).600 )

Do it up as a simple tea/coffee with seating. Views over the lake too or if it’s raining could be a money spinner. Only saw bus on fb and checked your channel out. But like your other stuff too 👍

no synchro on the morris minor I drive , makes going into first "interesting". Some Leylands did come with the SCG auto gearbox.
