How exactly are you controlling the speed of the vent fan? I've got a vent fan that is variable speed. It has a 120VAC plug and another plug used for speed control. When it is connected to the temp controller that came with the vent fan i can control the speed through the controller and when speed control plug is unplugged from the controller the vent fan turns at a constant 100% speed. I was wondering if you could explain a little bit how you are controlling your vent fan speed? I haven't been able to find a electrical schematic that explains the internal circuitry of the fan online.

@TheUnofficialMaker4 жыл бұрын
please elaborate on why the flask?
@TripSoup4204 жыл бұрын
@@TheUnofficialMaker I also put my nutrients in ball jars, makes it easier to use syringes to measure, when the nutrient comes into contact with the metal of the lid, either from bumping the jar and causing a splash inside, or just through keeping it closed, there is a reaction between the metal of the lid and the different salts. I use all general hydroponics, not all, but some of the nutrients have growths that are "weird" or rust is coming in, I don't think the nutrients should be in a container with a metal lid, so the jars would be fine, in my opinion, but either replace the lids with plastic, or just get the right flask, guess there is an exact right flask to use, i just saw one that could replace what he has in his set up, plus it looks good enough to go with a project this nice, in my opinion. I also think some of the nutrients are supposed to not see as much light, but I only know about the jar build up on lids for sure. I would in no way think i have any complaints about what he built, this is awesome, this is just a thing i personally deal with right now

so awesome! how much power is the automation adding to the grow? normally i factor in my fans, lights, hvac, pumps, (normal grow stuff) how many watts does your set up, the automation, the nutrient stir, controllers, about how much EXTRA would you say it adds?
@LEDGardener4 жыл бұрын
Great question - I've never measured it. The control box likely runs on very little power though and I've tried to minimize consumption... for example, the pump that stirs the nutrient solution cycles on for 5 minutes every 20 minutes, rather than running continuously. The nutrient stirring only fires when I'm mixing a new reservoir of nutes. At idle, the system is pretty much just powering a couple arduinos, logic level components and some LEDs.
