How funny this response would be at the top of the page… I’ll share: As I waited for Peter’s mom to begin speaking, the very first thought I had was “Peter has her eyes.” The next thought was “She is so naturally beautiful.” So … to whomever made any such disparaging comment, he or she is not only thoughtless but they too reveal perhaps a reflection of who they see in themselves, or allow how others may treat them - and that’s sad.

The last time I checked there were no Vogue cover models sitting around a children’s hospital. When you have a sick child the worry alone is enough to make you weary. The people being jerks obviously do not have children or have never sat with a sick family member at a hospital. Thank you so much for the update on Peter. Please keep us posted when you can. Man, you are way up there on the cool factor for breaking a bone while skateboarding, whose mom skateboards! My sons are bummed because I broke my foot tripping on the stairs. Small gift to say thank you for continuing to share your family with us, despite the terrible comments you get. I’m really sorry you experience that stuff. One other small comment: Peter’s face movements realllllly look like stereotypies to me. I’ve thought that before when seeing his “frown” face that’s not really a frown, or seeing his “I like it” hand motion (stereotypies can happen when people are excited). Just an observation, not trying to give you unsolicited medical advice. I know you’re an incredibly smart, engaged mother who knows Peter better than anyone on earth.
