I did a tru-oil explorer guitar! Looks amazing! I've refinished many guitars in different ways!🤘

I bet ... again MANY years ago when I started to explore refinishing a guitar ... I looked at many technicques & finishes. As I said in the video .. the regulations by goverments on chemicles in finishing/paint products makes it difficult to come by. I do agree though ... as much as its a long process .. a french polished applied Tru-Oil looks sharp on a instrument with alot of figure in its wood !! :)

Very interesting to see the guitar sanded back. What’s your plans for a finish terry

probly water based wood dye with a sealer overtop ... will be ALOT thinner on sealer then when I got it in trade .. I think between sealer/paint/top coat .. there had to be like 20mm+ of it all over it !! I've left most of the neck with the original amount on it .. ha

it's nice and all to refinish the thing, but it's superficial. All that has nothing to do with the cheap materials, construction & shoddy alignment/warping issues that will eventually occur as a result. A well constructed instrument is much more than just looks. In fact, looks are way at the bottom of a list for any actual working musician who needs reliable tools
