Update on the Home Depot Ego 56v Score.. Battery Issue

My 2.5AH battery says that it has 55.5vlts but when I push the trigger it runs maybe 5 seconds and quits. I can repeat this over and over and it does the same thing. I have only had the battery about a year and a half but the date on it is Non 2017. Any suggestions?

Brought a blower and line trimmer to find out the battery is fucked, so far not impressed

How were you able to charge only half of the battery pack? I also had a failure and the Ego phone rep was very good walking me through their testing procedure but wound up sending me another battery gratis. It only took a couple of days to get delivered and the unit works fine but I'd really like to have a backup battery by fixing my old one, if possible. Thank you !

Is it possible to fix them. Mine stay on blinking red light when I put in in the charger.

If the LED starts blinking non-stop continuously open it up and check q12 being shorted.... And you want it open it up before it stops blinking because it will drain the battery dead...

How do you know which is q12? Is it a wire? Or a resistor on the board? One of my ego batteries is flashing green Non-Stop

as a technician I recommend you do not open the battery that will void any warranty immediately call EGO get a case number if needed take it to your nearest home depot with a rental center unless you are 100% it is just the battery or mower take everything to be tested and @psfanbooy sorry to hear you had a bad experience but it could have been battery causing a problem with mower some times its dead batteries sometimes its a short in battery that can damage the mower as well everything needs to be tested

Battery hd a weak elf discharging cell group. Opened a case got. Replacement. Salvaged the cells for various other projects.

Is running it down a problem? I was always taught you want to get the battery low, but not dead, then recharge it. Both 56v batteries will not charge. One last year at the beginning of summer and the second one at the beginning of this summer. Can anyone help me with what's happening with these batteries?

hi, I want to buy the ego chainsaw but I want to reuse other lithium batteries that I have but I'm not sure if the chainsaw has some protection of different batteries, can you please try to put a piece of paper or tape in the 2 middle slots of the chainsaw battery conector and tell me if it still works? (the outer connectors are just the + and -)

hey ice, bonzo on ES here, bummer man.. I have two 2ah and one 4ah of these Ego batts, and I am bummed to hear that the batts/charger don't do the balancing on these!

I LOVE Love love my EGO 56v Lawn Mower, I love it so much that I am waiting for Home Depot to deliver my EGO Pole Saw and String Trimmer, living in Florida with all the rain and humidity it is so nice not to work with Gas, draining the tank and line, no oil or spark plug to worry about, no putting on a new Carburetor due to corrosion... and my Steel deck always rusted... EGO RULES!

I hate this mower. it failed on start up and then home depot damaged it during repair. took four months to resolve and after running four more time it no longer works again. battery shows beautiful green on both batteries but no ignition

What kind of charger did you use to charge the cells individually?

You can see the blue box on the left during half of the video. Its a multi-chemistry charger for RC cars/planes. Search amazon for 'lipo charger' or 'tenergy charger' or visit your local RC aircraft field.

Why would a company have a blinking red light labeled "DEFECTIVE" built in to their product? How many defective products are they selling? I agree, Customer Service was excellent, but it was like they were expecting my call. "Hi, I've got a blinking red light". "OK. We will send you a new battery. You should receive it in 5 business days". It sure sounds like they know that a certain percentage of their batteries are defective, and it's cheaper to let their customers discover the defective ones rather than find them themselves. Of course it's Fall and I gave away my corded blower. I like rakes better, anyway.

The indicator red light is to tell you when a battery goes bad over time.

@@AustinWilhite Not 2 years ago. The charger has a red light with the word DEFECTIVE printed next to it on the charger. I would show you a picture of it but YT doesn't allow that. BTW, the leaf blower is one of the most amazing pieces of equipment I have ever owned. I have used it every day, at least 45 minutes each day (a one acre area with 40 trees) for two years and it is still going strong. But the way they handled the battery issue (either throw it away and have it end up in a landfill, or take it back to Home Depot who will throw it away, and have it end up in the same landfill), kept me from buying any other E-Go products. They should have provided postage paid returns, and recycled/disposed of the thousands of defective batteries properly. Thanks for caring!

I had a problem with the charger it self the battery was not charging all the way I call tech support and they sent me a new charger for free. And the battery charger great and works fine.

I got a new 56V 6.0mAh Ego battery which I had charged up on the standard charging unit ok, and then about 3 to 4 days later, I went and put it in my Ego blower and the battery had NO POWER !?? - Hmmm 😨😰😰
