Thanks mate I appreciate that! Yes the Garmin was fantastic and really introduced us to home golf simulation to the masses but I feel like it's had its day. There are better options out there now for entry level... The MLM2PRO is the best in my opinion in terms of accuracy. I'm sure Garmin are working on the R20 or whatever their next unit will be called.

Agreed, I have the R10 now on my DIY setup. (in my living room.. nice being a bachelor) it's just off way too much. I have a SIM around the corner w/ GC3's and it's way more accurate. But the R10 served it's purpose.. ie. got me hooked on my home sim. Got a MLM2Pro in the cart ready for paycheck and checkout.

Love your videos, Joe. Watching your videos made me seriously contemplate building my own sim room. I started first with the removal of kids old cubby house (wife not happy 🙂) and just today I received my MLM2Pro from Drummond Golf. I might ping you if I need any help setting it up - for backyard net for now.

@@JLagGOLF I bought a net off Amazon from Yarra Supply. Arrives next week. I couldn't wait and started building a cage from a discarded driving bay from Precision Golf in Sydney 🙂 I just need to wrap some net around it. One other question I had, and I sent an email to Rapsodo support about it: The iPad MLM 2 Pro app can also run on Macbooks with the same chip - M1 or higher, with no additional development or changes to the app. However, the app developer needs to make that choice available when uploading the app to App Store. It is just a tick box. I checked with Apple. I have a very old iPad and a new Macbook and I would rather run the app on the Macbook as the iPad is....old and laggy. Would be good to get the community to "bombard" Rapsodo support with this request. What you reckon?

Pretty dang impressive to see the Rapsodo MLM2PRO perform near identical when going up against the GC3, Quad, Eye Mini, and more. With the constant improvements like the new target range, seems like the obvious choice sub $1,000

Appreciate the video. I believe I have spin rate issues with my MLM2 unit. Wedges seem to read very low, about half of what's expected. PW sub 5k spin etc. Support have been no help. Need someone with your skill to test it properly though, my strike is too inconsistent..

The eye Mini putting is fluid but I find even 8 stimp is faster than a normal course green.

Great content as usual! I wonder if you have been getting bizarre data with the MLM2PRO following the update last summer that enabled data capture on short chips. We have similar swing speeds, so I'm wondering if you ever see a bizarrely short shanking slice with >12000 back spin on drives that you have absolutely middled. Rapsodo has not been helpful with the issue despite sending in dozens of videos for them to review.

I know you want to use the RPT balls to appease the masses but it would be nice to do a few ball dots shots at the end to show their effectiveness.

@nupezb I use them and 100 percent trust them and the data. I have done an in depth video showing the data between them. I honestly think I had a few misread recently due to using the RPT balls that have dots worn off. With the dots I don't really get this because I keep them looking good by not hitting them directly.

The MLM2PRO seems to do much better than I had expected, especially given the pricepoint of both machines. I just dislike the dots and the connection issues you’ve had

It looks to me like the MLM2P is quite a bit off on side spin at times, reading a lot friendlier than it should. That shot at 20:30 is a good example.

Yes the misses where it was a hook or a slice is interesting that's where I saw a bigger difference. The eye mini seems to be a lot more penal than the MLM2PRO! On good shots they are insanely close.

Given all the improvements to the MLM2Pro, which of these would you recommend to someone who is looking to get a launch monitor? I recently sold my Mevo+ because of space limitations and am looking for new solution. The Mevo + required a minimum of 8’ behind which I couldn’t support (all my longer shots had weird spin numbers). The MLM2Pro says it supports 6.5’ behind the ball, which I can do. Based on this comparison, I don’t see the why paying 2K more for the eye mini lite would get me that much more. But you have both, so I am looking for your direct feedback. The other option is Bushnell LP, but I don’t know if you have that one to discuss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey mate, so if you're only concern is heading full of shots and working on your game, the MLM 2 Pro is absolutely amazing because you're getting the accuracy of a GC quad for a fraction of the price. If you however want to play Sim golf and have a full Sim experience, this is where you're better off getting an eye mini or an eye mini lite As they're going to offer a more full experience with putting and better chipping. Also, with the photometric base launch monitors, you don't have to worry about space requirements. As long as you can swing a club you're good. What I will say though is if you do get one of the photometric base launch monitors. It's a lot harder to play left and right-handed if you have other handed golfers come and play.. something to consider

Get a mesh wifi system and add a hub near your unit/set up (especially garage or place that is far from your wifi system). Eero is a great system

You have to pay $199 annually for the MLM 2 Pro premium features to connect to 3rd Party apps. GSPro is $250 annually. Additionally, you will need a computer powerful enough to run GS Pro.

The Uneekor 3rd party connector is also $200 USD a year so very similar fees with both of these devices. And yes for me now the Garmin is very much on the way out. I still love my Garmin but it's no where near the MLM2PROs shot shaping accuracy.

Hey man, you didn’t compare putting???? LOL These comparisons are probably more helpful to those thinking about getting into a launch monitor. What I can see is that based on measurement data they were very close. Some differences arose with the calculated results and that is to be expected. I had and returned the MLM2PRO because I felt like I was playing with it more than using it. That and the space required by radar units plus vendor supported integration with GSPro let me rationalize the EyeMini and downgrade the projector for a large TV to stay close to budget. For me it was the right choice. I will say I think this version of software for the EYEMINI over cooks the flight on draw/hooked shots. I don’t have your skills to know exactly when it happens but I do know that I see hooks that I rarely see on course. I basically chocked it up to INSIDE SWING SYNDROME. Without face to path data it’s hard to know. On course when I am staying in my comfort zone my miss is a pull hook and a good shot is a slight draw. When I am trying for more I typically hit a fade or slice. This is what I see with the EyeMini but the results seem to accentuate the negative.

The Bluetooth connector supports webcam putting. I’m using a simple 60fps webcam and getting very accurate results. I hardly notice it’s a workaround anymore

For me if I was buying one it wouldn't be a question I'd get the MLM2Pro any day! I would only say get the Garmin R10 now to someone who really really couldn't afford the $200 a year subscription. The Garmin isn't going to give you the same level of accuracy as the MLM2PRO so for me that's a big deal. I also think Garmin have stopped support for the R10 we haven't seen an update in a LONG time now. It would surprise me if we saw an R10 successor in the next year 🤞

Yes it did seem to be high on the MLM2Pro. What I will say is that I am in my garage that is not perfectly flat and now I'm thinking I need to try this with the unit just on the floor and match the slope that the eye mini is sitting on. All garages have a very very slight slope back to front and I wonder if this is influencing that higher VLA.

@@JLagGOLF I only have the original MLM and it seems very accurate for everything except driver, which is 40-50 yds shorter than both TopTracer and on course w/ Arccos. Range balls, but still.
