I just caught a little one today I have a crappy little set up as of now. Do you have any advice to such as where you got your interior stuff which plants are safe to keep in there are small rocks a danger to them to cover the bottom and should I get a filter active water fall thing etc. any advice would be great for my new friend

Hey! Filter is definitely recommended otherwise you’ll have to do water changes every day. Water side substrate will only matter depending on how you feed so if it is catching prey maybe something that is safe to digest. The background was made from expanding foam (like in my whites tree frog video if you want to check it out) and as far as plants you want something that will be ok with getting trampled on haha Pothos work well other vining plants do well too. You can also use swiss cheese plants. Good luck!!!

@Trellemania, I wanted to get a baby water snake as a pet. How fast do they grow? I don't have a very huge tank. I have a 50 gallon tank, how long do you think it would take to out-grow a 50g tank?

First Last Hi there! My little guy has not grown that much in the 2 years Ive had him. It might be different depending on the species you get but I’d say a 50 gal will last a very good while as long as all its needs are met :) thanks for watching!

Hey man, I really like this setup! Do you know if it would be possible to keep garter snakes in a simular setup? I would like to build a big terrarium with a large water section, including fish. I can't find any information about wether this is possible or not. What do you think?

Im happy to hear! Im sure if you set yourself to get it done you can make a great set up with those ideas. Patience is key. Definitely try to find all your tools and set up a plan before you start anything. I am still trying to get an upgrade done for this set up but I keep getting stuck midway because I dont have everything I need or I dont have too much time so planning is important

Hello there! I raise and breed garter snakes! I would say give them a large water source! I see people with small water sources and I used to be one of those people too, but they do love to soak in a large water source! if you plan on adding fish and what not, make sure you do research!!!! don't get fish that will eat your snake or your snake will eat and get sick!!! guppies are good for that!
