UPDATE: What to know before installing flexishield 2.0!!!!

Apologies in advance as I’m a wrapper and not a photographer lol… in this video I discuss the important idiosyncrasies of Flexishield and what to know before installing it. I don’t claim to be a flexishield expert just someone that understands the properties of the film and how to use those properties to your advantage. Feel free to reach out with questions!

I believe it is a polyurethane top layer on top of a PVC vinyl base. This explains why the film rolls into itself in that direction, the vinyl is shrinking but the polyurethane isn't. I did a civic si roof with a sunroof in flexishield and i found the way it squeegee'd, stretched, and took heat were interesting to say the least. I'm excited to learn this new film, something really different to explore

Looks amazing. I tried to do a model y (super easy car), but no matter what i do, i see a lot of glue lines. A LOT!

Thanks for your videos! Can you post or demo for us how you tackle a model Y bumper? I used your measurements for my job but I can’t seem to figure out where the inlays are used. I can’t seem to figure out where to use the knife less tape.

So do you find this wrap easier to install than like a 3M 2080 matte finish then? Or still add 2-4 hours for the Flexishield install?

Add 2-4 hours per day probably

Used Flexishield and let me tell you this. Flexishield is thick, tacky, and definitely not that stretch due to it being thick. Your better off wrapping your car in something else and Ceramic coating it.. But if you have all the money then go get flexishield

wonder what the condition of the paint will be when you take it off. Will the paint have all of that goo on it from the wrap? Do you think wrapping a car and then ceramic coating it provides enough protection as compared to standard PPF?

@@ronin120 As long as you let the car sit outside in the hot sun, and use additional heat from a heat gun or a steamer to slowly take off the film, around 90% of the goo will come off. Heat is the best solution for removal

Justin Pate, I'm sure he is good but that guy seems like a hack. I've been wrapping cars since 2004, professionally! I was the RallyFighter wrap guy for 4 years. I've even wrapped cars wet with 3M 7125 film before the 180 film was invented.
