Updated 7.01 REAPER Level 100 Rotation Showcase | 2.49s | 2 Mins + Pot | Dawntrail Patch 7.01

If you watched the 7.0 video, the main change here is that we’re trying to late weave our AC in the opener, and we want to late weave our AC in the burst window in order to better align with party buffs.
Here's a quick rotation video showing off Reaper's level 100 Standard Opener and 2nd Minute Double Enshroud Burst Window!
What I'm doing here is basically the whatever is written in the Balance! Currently, the website isn't updated, but the mentors have updated the graphics on Discord. I tried to link the images shared, but the Discord Image links expire after a while. I suggest joining the discord and looking at their infographics!
My GCD timer is 2.49s, which is the optimum skill speed for Reaper. Afaik the 'BIS' now doesn't have that skill speed, so this is more of a demonstration when Savage drops and we have proper gear.

Take note that the late weaving for Arcane Circle in the Opener should be done without clipping. If you're having trouble and clipping your GCD, just do a regular double weave. There'll be minor potency lost in the opener, but everything re-aligns back after the 2nd minute burst! Also regarding the burst prep, currently the balance infographic says "9 seconds left on AC", it'll actually be around 9-10 seconds, depending on how late you weave AC in the opener. Same goes for after the 2nd minute mark! I've put 9s in the video, but take note that it's actually 9~10s! You'll know you're doing it properly when you're refreshing Death's Design right as it's falling off. Also do let me know if the new action timeline position/size is better or worse than my previous video. Will help make future videos better!

Leveled Viper to 100, currently 89 on Reaper. I appreciate both as a controller player, the lack of button bloat is great for slowing the development of advanced arthritis in my hands before I hit the age of 30. Reaper's rotation feels so weird though, it doesn't seem to loop smoothly. Viper's is like clockwork.

These are awesome. I would really enjoy seeing what a high parse run looks like for m1-4 in the current savage tier, with all the downtime. Ive been trying to optimize the runs but cant break purple parses.

There are some things that are beyond your control that you need to consider when parsing. 1. Are you BIS yet? By this week, anyone who cleared week 1 will have BIS already, so you're competing against them. 2. Are your party members BIS and doing their rotation properly? Both are important factors that add up to our RDPS. 3. Which fight are you parsing? Generally the earlier fights in the tier are easier to parse as there are more players with low damage clearing. 4. Does your party have any deaths? Deaths contribute to your 2 minutes, and might also affect your kill time (ie. Ending a fight at the start of your 2min window will likely reduce your parse). 5. Are you using LB? Using LB outright causes you to lose DPS. Check if these factors are accounted for first, as these might be the reason you might not be breaking purple. Tbh, I've thought about making videos about optimising these fights on Reaper, but Reaper just feels so annoying to play and I don't really want to touch it as much anymore. Not to mention parsing this tier is very RNG reliant since there are patterns where you have uptime, and there's patterns where you just can't uptime. If I have infinite time and patience, sure, but for now I just want to spend my time on other stuff.

@@omupenguin Thanks for the detailed response. Currently full bis and i play with 3 others that are too. We haven't tried parse runs together yet (schedule) but the PF parse runs, that was my experience. I hear you about annoying. I've been looking at alternatives for the next tier but seeing how some are getting great parses on reaper, i thought it was doable and would be really interesting to watch them do non-standard to squeeze out extra. I get 97 on EX1 but no one really counts that lol because its full uptime. I've been starting to speculate that the 99+ are very speicific conditions/composition within the raid. For exmaple, I've seen a log with a 100 parse reaper that had 4 healers in the raid.

Eh I'm 99% sure you don't need to do non-standard if you want to get orange parses. From my own experience (for reaper at least), as long as you have keep your GCD rolling and do your burst windows properly, you should get orange parses consistently. I would guess that non-standard Reaper is really only for going for rank 1. But honestly, you can still get rank 1 without non-standard gameplay (and even without an optimised rotation) because at the end of the day, crit RNG can affect your DPS a lot. I do suspect that some raid comps seem easier to parse with. I personally feel that having a scholar makes it easier, but I don't have any evidence to show that's actually true. The 4 healer comp COULD give a 100 parse probably by having a really good kill time, but I highly doubt that anybody can get 100 parse with that comp if it's anywhere past the first week lol.

@@omupenguin thats funny you say that, because that 4 healer comp log had a 100 parse scholar too. Just the two of them at 100 and the rest in grey. I thought maybe they knew somethings on "gaming the system" but i trust that you know whats up. Thats why i ask :) Thanks again!

Also can I ask what skill speed you are using specifically? I followed the crafted bis but as i beat two fights my sks is all wonky with the upgrades.

2.49s! Crafted BiS is 2.47s, so it’s a kit different. I don’t really feel any differences in our rotation though surprisingly, i was probably doing something wrong lol.

You can see my vods for m1s to m4s, those were done with 2.47s. The rotation’s not perfect but it should be correct most of the time for execution. All the best!

Alternatively, you look to upgrade your gloves with the tome gear to get rid of the skillspeed. It’s week 3 now so you should have enough if you’ve been capping your weekly tomes!

Do you have the weapon/gear pieces? I don’t think there’s a point worrying about parses now because people with weapon and gear will just outright do more damage even if they’re not doing the correct rotation. You can be 100% optimised but it doesn’t matter if you just have worse gear because raw numbers > skill. Just plug your log into xivanalysis and see what you can improve on. You can also try sharing your log in the balance and ask for help reviewing your play. Feel free to ask me anything, I’m a reaper main anyway.

I was doing this and delaying my arcane circle for the 2min burst window but someone in party kept telling me to not delay my bursts and that by the end of the fight I would lose a burst window coz it all keeps “delaying”, so I don’t know if I should just stop double enshrouding? Or if that person is talking non sense, I do understand that in savage now I have to disengage sometimes and I’m not the best at greeding uptime but I did notice my buff window still aligned with the others, even if it’s not perfect. Any advice for prepping for the 2 min burst? Often times I feel like I get to 50 in shroud gauge while the arcane circle window is still in the 20s-18 ish. I think it might be because I go into the first enshroud as soon as I hit 50, instead of 70 maybe, I’m playing on console and my ping isn’t the very best if that matters

Yes, you’re supposed to use Arcane Circle off cooldown, ie. use it right as the ability is available again. You’re not supposed to go into Enshroud when your shroud gauge hits 50, or your soul gauge hits 70, or whatever. Your burst window is centered entirely on Arcane Circle, cos we want to use it off cooldown. So when the 2 minute window is coming up, make sure you have 50 Shroud (blue) gauge. And when Arcane Circle’s cooldown reaches 10s, count 2 GCDs then you enter enshroud. I suggest looking at my gameplay and see when I enshroud with respect to Arcane Circle. You can also how I do the double enshroud window in actual fights since I have POVs for m1s to m4s. Feel free to clarify anything else.

May I ask why use the Gibbet and Gallows interchangeable instead of sticking to one and staying in the respective coordinate?

After the first time you use Gibbet/Gallows, you will get a buff that enhances the other one. So if you start the fight with Gibbet, you'll get enhanced Gallows, which makes your next Gallows do more damage. If you look at my hotbar (or your own hotbar), the one that is enhanced will be highlighted. So just click the shiny button to do more damage!

Apart from Opener, nope. Our Burst is just too long to fit in Gluttony and the 2 execs G/G. That’s also why Gluttony will drift during the 2min burst.

I’m either taking off pieces with skillspeed or still using the level 99 gear just to reach 2.49s. This showcase will become more relevant once crafted gear is released and we can reach 2.49s normally. EDIT: IF we can reach 2.49s. There’s a possibility that we can’t straightaway like in Anabaseios, but should still be able to reach 2.49s eventually.

This rotation is kinda meh, seems like theres a lot of pausing between skills. Is that on purpose? Dps output seems a little low as well.

What do you mean pausing between skills? And DPS output here is low because I took off my gear in order to reach the desired skill speed (2.49s). It's a recurring thing throughout my videos since raw DPS numbers aren't useful information.

Its heartbreaking how reaper rotation is so clunky atm. Once you play as vpr for a bit and see how reawaken has no cooldown you just wonder why the hell were we suffering with enshroud 15s cooldown all this time? Not to mention how you have to push perfectio, aka your new shiny button, outside your ac otherwise your combo breaks… its just sad. Also sacrificium is super lame and feels so out of place during enshroud. Ok. Rant is over. Tyvm.

We are suffering because double enshroud probably wasn't intended by the devs (though there are evidence that support both sides of the arguement). But tbh, I much enjoy this than Viper's 'braindead' burst window as it helps to separate the good and great Reapers. Don't get me wrong, both are fun in their own ways, but I really appreciate Reaper's 'clunk' because it allows for further optimisations (and it makes Shadow of Death so much more interesting). Also, Perfectio is in our AC window. I used Perfection before AC drops in the video. Combo only drops if you start your enshroud on a non-combo GCD, and/or you screw up your burst and clip your GCDs. IMO Sacricium is the best change to Reaper in Dawntrail. It raises the skill ceiling for a job that was pretty easy to play, and once again introduce some minor optimisations. I do think that Reaper is clunky though, because they're just not really designed for downtime IMO. Doing any of the fights where you need to disengage just sucks, causing your burst to desync and feel awful.
