Im new to f1 and had problems with locking up when breaking (playing with no assists) and for some reason never thought about putting my feedback 150. First time I have drove this consistently, and it was just by adjusting the settings. Thanks, great advice for controller player!

Update: I bought a ps5 controller and compared to ps4 it feels really good. It will take a bit of time to get used to But its worth it. The joysticks are a lot smoother and the triggers are lighter which made me go on throttle a bit to fast in the beginning But now ive adjusted to it

I knew it, I was also testing higher and lower Wheel rotation & damper settings several times and felt almost no difference. Even at Monaco lowest or highest rotation felt the same. I will test the feedback settings tho I have them all on max rn

For the throttle and braking, do you always leave it at 0 (Linearity)? Ive got them quite high as it gives more control but i still feel that I could be quicker if I had better settings. Is it worth it to put them to 0?

Thanks for these tips man, I was wondering if you have any thoughts about using controllers with longer left stick? I'm using it with my Elite Series 2 on Xbox, and I found it to be more manageable, but maybe I loose time with it. Given your experience, does any thought come to your mind about it?

Im so happy its so good without assists and traction control. This is how racing should be. You should learn about theottle or how to accelerate out of corners etc. Also your settings are perfect! Im top 2% right now.

Isn’t it contradicting to put the steering rate at 160 and the linearity at 1? Would keeping it at zero and decreasing the rate not be the same?

nope. steering rate at 160 means it is 60% faster steering but the steering linearity just means that the more central your stick is the more lazy the steering will be

sorry i know i aint him. but what i do (ps4 player no wheel) i use what we call: "C steering" first steer as much as you need for the corner, then drag it upwards like a C shaped one

Someone help me out. If my controller is vibrating while turning is that because I’m under steering? That’s all I can think it would be but it doesn’t seem like I’m going to fast for the turns and I feel like I’ll lose a lot of pace slowing down to the point where it’s not vibrating.

Typically it’s because you’re wearing the tires. You’d wanna ease off the gas. This is what Verstappen does so well. He breaks early and smoothly and carries more speed in the apex and also accelerates smoothly. You’ll see that you’re not losing speed at all if you’re on the right line.

Had a similar effect. I am also not that bad (Like top 1000 players on most tracks). Had 280 at the start, then tried again some different options (always went up and down by 20) and was fastest on 240. Was like 2 tenths on spa compared to 280.

@@quilesnicolas1037 its how quickly the in game steering wheel goes from full left to right. Basically its how fast the response is. I find a lower steering rate allows you to be smoother
