UPDATED Forza GT Car Tier List - Forza Motorsport Update 3.0

Since it's not clear to some, this list is NOT a favorites ranking or anything of the sort... This list ranks the cars in order of competitive viability. A lot of testing has gone into this, so the list is quite objective. I'm always glad to be proven wrong, but "I like X car the most" or "I beat Y car with Z car all the time" is not proof of anything. However, if you have competitive lap time data, let's have a discussion. Thanks!

This list is pretty much perfect. The C8, M8, 17 911, and Ford GT are so close, I feel it really comes down to the car that speaks to you between them in terms of which one is better for you. Would be nice if they balanced tha cars around these 4.

The Mclaren being so weak in Forza is a shame.. the Evo version it has been my main car in ACC in most competitive races I’ve been apart of. Being said that this is a pretty accurate tier list if not the best for Forza!

Any plans on making a updated forza gt tier list vid? I feel like now would be a great time since we're only getting 1 new gt car this month, which is the RCF gt3. So you won't feel overwhelmed with the amount of new cars entering the division.

Just started using the C7 trans-am car and I’m surprised at how fast it is. A lengthy first gear isn’t too much of a downside on track, as it makes launch out of slow corners smooth, and the absurd downforce compared to the other cars can make things like Homestead Miami turn 11 surprisingly consistent. It has its downsides but overall, it’s a really fun and good car.

I have recently become a fan of the channel from your GT7 tuning videos even though I am a Forza player. I love how well you explain things with good visual examples in the games. I would love to see your opinion on what it takes to tune a fast Forza car. I am performance engineer in real life and you are one of the few people I have found to clearly and correctly explain handling concepts and how to optimize settings for the game even if these settings would cause poor handling in real life. My current annoyance with Forza is that it seems to be the most egregious offender of this where a good tune would be nowhere close to drivable in real life. In addition to a Forza Tuning video I would love a theory based video explaining how some of the physics issues/flaws in games like GT7 or Forza create an unrealistic optimal tune. Regardless of my requests, I love your videos and the educational support you provide to the community and I will be certainly sticking around to see more. Thank you!

The "decent" category can also be called "balanced" ha. Also, its cool to see how the Ferrari moved up several positions but you didnt mention one thing about it ;) Ferrari is really nice with a proper tune on atleast half the tracks.

Ferrari moved up naturally from the other cars around it. Agreed it's a solid car - if it had a bit more grip it would probably be a strong car

Just came back to say: Dang son, that KTM being "op" is not a lie! It's nearly on par with the Audi. Because of your vid I decided to try it out today. Just had my first race with it, with a borrowed tune, on Suzuka. Quali (soft) was 2:00:5, fast lap in the race (Medium, 4 laps) was 2:02:4. Just beat 3 Audi's that are, well hopefully, around my driver rating and it was a fair and tough race. (My Rating is S-4975) The funny thing is... No one else is racing with this thing, yet. Maybe because the car is unstable as hell which can put people off, but when you apply a proper tune that makes it more stable and you keep it under control, wow.

Super good list man, thanks for this. Only correction I would make is to put the C8 in a category below avoid. Damned thing sounds like a struggling, old vaccum cleaner when you're driving another car near a C8. The noise it makes is attrocious.

Certainly not confirmed but I'd imagine the Nissan gtr gt2 will be coming and probably detuned to meet this class. When you first open forza, the online multi-player picture displays it racing with a supra (maybe another addition). Only the first time from a restart of the game does this image appear.

Man, i just decided to switch from the BMW M8 to the Viper. I am SO glad i did. It's a much more stable car in the corners with the proper tune on it. It's not a tire eater like the M8 is either.

This list is pretty much bang on… except, I think the old C7 Vette needs to be dropped to the top of weaker. The only track it somewhat excels on is Lime Rock, it just doesn’t have enough acceleration or top end to compete with the rest.

Thoughts on the new Ferrari 488 GTE? I think it's really strong. I am driving it with no tuning whatsoever and am finding myself beating my best tune car times.

The things I would change: Acura-OP C7.R-Mid/Bottom Strong C8.R-Equal to Viper Mercedes-Upper Strong Reasons for this: The Acura can actually hold its own with the Audi. It has better grip and can fly through fast turns. I’ve been able to keep up with the Audi. The C7.R and C8.R are both monster with grip. And tire wear is not an issue with them. The Mercedes is overall a beast. Amazing grip and is fast. Yes it lacks a little acceleration and tire wear due to the weight but, it’s super strong. It basically is the viper on crack.

If you're keeping up with the Audi in the Acura, the Audi driver is just slower. The Audi is half a second or more faster on any given track. The C7 is fine, but it's not on par with the C8 at all, and the C8 isn't as good as the Viper on most tracks. The C8 also is on the heavier end and wears tires quicker than the lighter cars. The Merc also struggles on some handling tracks and isn't as good as anything I've placed above it, especially not the Viper

​​@@jaycee3399unlike other people who are ranking these cars, I'm ranking them on raw competitive ability - there's little to no influence from my opinion here. Some of my favorite cars are in the decent category, and I'm not a fan of half of the strong cars. Hope that helps some!

Something else to notice is that, a GTE car (with the exception of THAT 911) will usually be a strong choice since the other cars are GT3. Of course there are outliers, but GTE cars were designed to be quicker and more thoroughly researched

That's completely irrelevant... Forza balances the cars how they want to. The Audi was the fastest car until it got nerfed, and that's a GT3. The 2 fastest cars now are Super Trofeos, and after that it's a GT2 and a GT3.

Just want to let you know: I like to tune and use 'underdog' cars and I think they have 'adjusted' the Porsche Team Manthey car that is in your "avoid" list. I made a tune that is getting me podiums and wins. And I'm S-4980 so I hope it does say something about the people I race against. You need to update the list again! :)

Unfortunately that doesn't say much - rating is pretty much irrelevant. I'm in S 4999 but still winning races by 30+ seconds. The 2015 Porsche can win races against almost anyone online, but that just speaks to the lack of strong drivers online. The list was made with drivability and raw pace in mind, and the 2015 Porsche sits at the bottom of the list when compared to the other cars. I will have an update once the next Cadillac releases

The acceleration is very good. Getting the gearing right is important because the power band is so narrow

@@alleksfc1167 yea the stock gears aren't very good. Make 1st gear go to around 70 MPH, make 5th gear almost top out on the straight on the track you're testing, and space the other gears evenly in between

2018 GT3 R is way too low, it has decent accel and great rotation. C7 GTE wasnt moved up anywhere near enough. C7 GTE is basically the challenger TA but better, and the C7 TA is most certaintly not better than the C7 GTE C7 GTE should he moved to the bottom of strong. 2018 GT3 R should be moved to the top of decent. C7 TA should be put just above Challenger TA Otherwise good list

C7 isn't better than the Challenger at all... The Challenger handles better and has the same top end. The GT3 R is right where it belongs, too. It's nowhere near as good as the M6

@@theFORZA66 the Challenger and Aston smoke the GT3 R on grip tracks, and the Aston has very good low end accel. The GT3 R will only beat the Bentley on a track where high top end is important, and the Ferrari is so much faster in a straight line that it just runs better lap times than the GT3 R. A lot of the best drivers in the game have spent a lot of time in these cars, and this is a widely agreed upon list. If you're faster in particular car, that's great, but that doesn't mean it's objectively better. It's important to understand the difference.

It’s the worst race game in history BOP(balance of performance)wise. Forza was always about class racing.. if you do now class racing it’s all about handling cause it’s borderline OP . A formula Mazda is 90% of the tracks top 10 in A Class even mugello ( with its enormous straights )in fm6 the ktm Xbow ( similar car to the formula Mazda) only worked on Bernese alps school and Catalunya school circuit. All others it would drown heavily cause it was to slow on straights. Now in fm23 you can take a Audi rs6 with 600hp vs the 180hp formula Mazda and it would only pass it like a snail , but in the corners it’s like a F1 car agianst a semi truck .. A class has never been slower . The highest hp most tryhards use is 400hp. in fm6 the AVERAGE!!hp was 450-500hp !!! I already quited the game like many loyal forza people I used to race.. it’s just broken . The physics are atleast better than fm7 ( wich is a crap game aswell) but it’s still a bit bland , I only drive on tracks with elevation or trailbreaking corners , cause tracks like Silverstone short just feel bland like fm7 was. I wish I Could go back in time and play fm6 online agian best BOP ever. Or I was a multi billionaire and would make a REAL forza agian..

A good around track to test cars its Suzuka, test it there compared to the Aston and the C7. And don't be arrogant with that “give me your gamertag to show you how good I am with it” bs, I know perfectly well that you are fast with any car, don't be cocky about it. If you're going to make a tier list, do it right, test all the cars on multiple tracks.

@@dragonnestodyssey3939 why are you making assumptions...? I've tested these cars on most tracks, probably more than you have... Those are just stand-out lap times the car has done that are on par with strong cars. If I'm fast with any car, you should take my word for it that the car is good... It doesn't make sense to call someone out on this when they have the ability to push cars to their limits better than you. It's more likely that you're not getting on with the car rather than the car being slow. I was in the same boat, and I was proven wrong after spending time with the car. I'll report back on Suzuka times with all 3 cars if you want, but I won't be surprised if the Bentley comes out on top there, too

People who are faster than you think the Bentley is a good car - I'm not the only one. That leads me to believe that either you haven't spent time with the car, or you don't have a good setup for it. Like I said, I'll test it against the cars you suggested on Suzuka, but don't be surprised if the Bentley is on top
