We use those same model N-95 masks at work for Virus and Bacteria protection. They won't filter out smoke, especially if your in a confined space.
@UrbanSuburban0108 жыл бұрын
+Mike L Your totally right. They are made for virus/bacteria protection and they won't filter any gases but it will help somewhat with larger particulates although that is not what they are really designed for. Thanks for watching.

Great set up. I hadn't seen anyone wrap fiberglass around their metal cup for an insulator, definitely makes it easier to use a metal cup to cook or boil water. Nice new camera and fancy camera work :)
@UrbanSuburban0109 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching. I can't take credit for the wrap on the pot/cup as it came that way. Its a really light weight way to make it easy to handle when hot.

something like the monsoon gear slinger in a non-tactical paterned collor, while it may fit less, it will not wave as many flags around, and can more easily be concealed in a vehicle.

Those Gear Pods are just too cool! I have never seen them before. You have them set up perfectly and cover 3 of the 5Cs just there. I understand about car accidents I have a bag sitting on my truck seat for grab and go, unfortunately I have used it too many times but I sure does work and is great to have (that is one kit that is pretty much complete). Still working on my bags, seems like I can never get them quite set up the way I like - work in progress. Enjoyed it Chris! ATB2U/SS - Stan (PS - put 2 more in freezer yesterday! both w/bow small 12pt and a doe)
@UrbanSuburban0109 жыл бұрын
Thanks a bunch Stan. Gearpods are a pretty cool idea. They have all kinds of premade kits and also empty ones you can customize yourself. Ya my bags also seem to be in a state of flux too. Always adding or changing something. Congtats on all the meat! My freezer is going without venison this year. 😩

nicely and well thought out bag sir. i like it. only problem i have with it, is you will stick out like a sore thumbs in a wrol/disaster etc.. or any scenario. The camo bag will tell others who may me in desperate need of food/ gear " hey ive got the goods". and it would alert a check point and cause the gear to be confiscated and you detained or both. inconspicuous is more. just my thoughts.

great video. i think we all carry roughly the same things. aside from the N-95 mask i also carry work goggles, you need eye protection from smoke debris. i also carry a more quality flashlight. also i carry anti bacterial wipes, those can be used as toilet paper, to disinfect cooking gear and you can clean yourself with them. i also carry a water bladder, if i have to leave my vehicle i would fill it with water in order to have accessible water before i would have to start looking for more water. thanks again for sharing

michael leon Goggles is a good point. I always have at least one pair on Oakleys in my truck but they are shaded. I have a better flashlight in my EDC bag which is always on me, plus one in my pocket (smaller). I also always have antibacterial wipes in the truck which are ALWAYS handy, especially with kids lol. One thing I don't have which would be good is a water bladder. Thanks for watching.

@Bo24Yfz9 жыл бұрын
awesome video it gave me a few ideas so i will share a few of mine for you... you talked about vacuum sealing that water straw i believe what i did instead of that is use a mylar bag and oxygen absorber they will last longer as for the cheap bags they use the seals leak after time as well as let light and heat in more then the mylar.I would also throw a few(4 ) hand warmers since you live in canada that can save your life as u said you loose feeling in feet or hands your dead. Im assume you carry a gun of some sort since you have zip ties to detain someone because i dont know anyone that would like a stranger just zip tie their hands like that with out fighting unless the person had a gun so throw a extra mag or 2 in your pack so you always have that. I would ad a lighter in your actual bag so if some weird reason your tube thing breaks ,gets knocked off shot off or what ever you have a fire source. I know MREs suck but they have more calories for you then roman noodles and if your humping a distance your be glad you have them... i would get 2 open them and take out anything you know you wont eat or use like both spoons hot sauce ect.and throw them in a mylar with absorbers. take out the roman they are empty fast burning cals and wont get you through a day and the stove unless you just want it because its cool..lol ( which it is). i forget if you had any protein bars if not get a few of them to eat while you walk.. I would also fill up your water bottle you have and the bladder because instead of trying to find water and filter it boil it or what ever you can be moving to your family. The radios you have are ok if your with in a mile but if your not and have trees and hills and terrain that dont have a straight veiw you will be about home before you can use them... what i recommend is the BaoFeng UV5R Ham radio... which i have about 10 of these you can find brand new ones on amazon for around 30 bucks which is a steal... now before people say you have to have a license to use them. that is true one its a really easy test and if your in a emergency situation you can use these to talk on which i assume if you pull this pack shit got real!! lol but it isnt illegal to own them and listen on these.. the best thing is they the same FRS frequencies your other hand held's have so you can program these to work together as well as you can scan local police and fire as well as other channels to get info to help you move to warn you of trouble areas to stay away from... with this stock radio and a extended antenna as well as the extended battery you can have the radio on for about a week as long as your not talking constantly they also have car chargers so what i did was ad a car charging port in the back of my truck and have them charging under the seat so they will always be full. but with these you can talk well further and get 20-30 mile range of talk...last but not least... a little tool called the ResQme and attach one to your key chain and throw one in your bag... if you dont know what it is google it. I have probably 8 of these things lol and have used it once to get a lady and her child out of her car that went into a water retention pond..its really hard to break car windows with out shooting them out but this lil tool has a glass breaker that can be used in the water and out as well as a seat belt cutter if you need that to free someone.. or yourself for that matter. I have these on all my key chains plate carriers bags you know it they are awesome to have and light and cheap.. other then that maybe a few cheap chem lights and a tourniquet you can get to fast but you got a good set up and i could tell you didnt just throw it together and you have stuff for your area.good job! sorry to make this long and by no means am i saying what to do just advise i have picked up or found out i needed hope some of this helps and sorry if others have suggested anything i did before! and thank you for the ideas i got from you im gonna change my pack this week to incorperate the things i learned from you!
@UrbanSuburban0109 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. You have some great ideas. A few (like the ResQme, lighter and chem lights) are things that I always have on hand in my truck but not necessarily in my bag. I really like the idea of the ham radio and the mylar packaging too. You gave me some things to think about, much appreciated.

Have you tried those SOL things ? I have opened an SOL tap and it was stinking so mych it gave me a headache, the odor was horrible, i wonder if this is just one pack that went chemically wrong or if all are the same. I like very much the Hazard 4 Evac Plan B; it is my edc for work and car, but i think it is too small for a serious overnight or two days pack, the sling is VERY compfortable when weight is down, but if you add weight AND need to vover some walking hours it will hurt.
@UrbanSuburban0109 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I have opened the bivy bag but never unfolded but didn't notice any odor. I have used several of their heat sheets and never had a problem either. And I agree about the bag. Not too many sling packs are comfy with really heavy loads. Mine currently weighs well under 29 pounds so is still good with that wide padded strap.
@AlexandreLollini9 жыл бұрын
My problem was with a "Sport Utility Blanket" wich I planned to use as emergency shelter (combine tarp with rings and foil reflective stuff). What do you know good tarp with a reflective face and some rings, other brand ?? With 29 pounds you are still ok with the sling, i think this is near upper limit for day-long-walk.
@UrbanSuburban0109 жыл бұрын
Sorry. That was supposed to be 20, not 29 pounds. 30 pounds would probably be a little much. The All Weather Emergency Blanket by Grabber is pretty good. 1 reflective side and grommets at the corners. It measures 5X7 feet.

+UrbanSuburban I think it would come out better if you use one camera to show the entire pack and the item you're talking about (just like in this video), and the secondary camera to have a detail on the item itself. I would probably have both cameras in front of the table, with the secondary one maybe just a little on a side, to give a slightly different perspective on the object you're showing. Great bag btw! :)
