+Elli VIXXette Personally my natural hair is 3C-4A (more of a 3B when wet) so if I wash it everyday it's such a nightmare (gets dry, coarse, impossible to brush, etc), I wash it once a week to minimize the time it's like that.

I know! Though for me I do every other week, but thoroughly rinse my scalp with warm water every couple of days because my hair is naturally super curly and dry. Plan on trying out argan oil because of the benefits.

I love love love any of the Pantene conditioners, and according to the official website, none of the p&g products are tested on animals, though there are a few sites out there that claim they do with no evidence to support it. In any case, I have hair just past my waist, a little thinner than yours, and it was color treated about 2 years ago. I use various shampoos, but my conditioner is always one of the Pantene ones. I like them all, and I've never found another brand I like.

+Isabella Dewhurst your privacy settings don't let me reply to your comment, but I don't get my hair wet - I just use a shower cap on days when I don't wash my hair. I let my hair air dry and it takes several hours, so wetting my hair every day would be highly impractical.

Have you tried Live Clean's Argan Oil Deep Conditioning mask. They do not test on animals and its available at Shoppers Drugmart and is cheap. The Live Clean does not have cones but it has good slip, I use it when I need good conditioner that I can find on the ground. I am a type 2 as well and about WL. My hair gets super matted and can detangle well with products from CG companies- like Deva Curl, JessiCurl, Curljunkie, ect. No Poo from Deva is also a great cleanser.

I use several horse products in my hair, Quic Color as a shampoo seems to bring out alot of highlights and Show Sheen is an awesome silicone based detangler. I know this isn't for everyone, but I fund they work well for me. I've always felt that if it's good for my horse it ought to be good for me (within reason, you won't catch me using Ivermectin or anything, but you might catch me trying a treat or feed type to see how it tastes) Cause you know, horse people tend to be kinda nutty like that..

When you are talking about how the hair will adjust according to washes, i`m a guy with naturally red hair, it gets greasy overnight, i have a good day now and its slightly greasy.. Would you recommend waiting a few days before i wash it again? I usually wash my hair and wait two days before i do it again, but it does get greasy anyway, should i wait longer?? Also, when not washing your hair, do you mean not showering or not getting the hair wet? Thanks:) growing long hair is a hassle, haha.

As my knowledge of olive oil similar as urs, I choose extra virgin coconut oil(cold pressed) or Sweet Almond oil. I feel they worked on my hair much better than conditioner. For cooking, I think grape seed oil is really good. cold pressed is the key to anyone looking for good quality coconut oil. and I observed different brands, same story as olive oil, good ones r really expensive, some r mixed or fake virgin coconut(refined).

Great video! Your hair is lovely. I'm a pro stylist with a broader view on alternative hair care and you are 100% correct about some products containing junk ingredients that claim to be "natural". Also Argan oil in its pure form but my hair is baby fine and thin compared to that mane you have going on!

I have hair down to my upper thighs, and all I've been doing is washing it with organic shampoo. Desert Essence shampoos are really good, it just takes a couple washes to get really dirty hair clean. It should also be noted that I have hair that gets oily quick as well as a more European hair type (it's thick for being ash blonde but it's not as thick as some Hispanic / Islander/ Indian hair types) It sad, but that's just the way genetics works, so these products might not work as well for others as they do for me.

What benefits do you get from applying conditioner after the shower and leaving it in? I ask because I have a very similar hair type (relatively coarsish 2c/3a hair) that tangles hoooorrrrribly. I've always used a rinse-out conditioner then a leave-in or creamy styling product but still get awful snarls. Agree on cones. It's not the masking damage, it's the long-lasting slip that keeps me coming back. They are great sealers. And no, they don't suffocate your hair!

Do you know is there any connections about dying hair and silicon/cols? My friend dye heavily her hair and now the colours don't stick in her hair. Is it possible that those cols has stuffed into the hair making it repel the dye. I have seen/heard that happen to other my friends like some colour they randomly used get stuck in the hair like even they tried to colour it again with different colour or one dyed her hair (usually dyed red) blonde to get the red more red but it didn't work anymore...

@LucysCorsetry
@LucysCorsetry 5 жыл бұрын
I don’t count my brush strokes, I only brush enough to detangle my hair and then I stop. Too much friction can damage the outer cuticle of the hair. I don’t own a boar bristle brush, just a detangling brush. Boar bristle is good for distributing sebum, but it will never be properly distributed down my entire length so I just apply oil on the ends of my hair now.

Can you please,please do a video on how you actually shampoo and wash your hair with your shampoo bars,I have been struggling with using various company's shampoo bars and always end up with dry tacky broom stick like mid lengths and ends. I have bought a shower head filter and follow up with a acv rinse or Dr. Bronners citrus shikakia hair rinse and my hair still feels dry and coated with residue. I want to use these bars for all there pure organic ingredient s and oils and butters but I'm failing miserably. I'm currently using Bobeam Cheri hibiscus bar, I love its rich creamy soft lather and it feels great while washing but then dries waxy and very tacky.

I have a question, some say that brushing hair especially with boar bristle brush is super healthy and has a lot of benefits for hair because natural hair sebum is distributed through hair and if you don´t do it then you get greasy built up on scalp and you have dry ends.....so is it true?
@LucysCorsetry
@LucysCorsetry 10 жыл бұрын
Boar bristle brushes do effectively distribute sebum and help with "finishing" (smoothing over flyaways, etc), but it's not the only means of distributing oils - other brushes can help too. No matter what brush you use, you're likely to experience a gradient of oiliness (more at the scalp and less at the ends). I notice that my ends get a little dry, but there is no brush on this earth that will distribute oils across a meter of hair, lol.

Yvainnie I always detangle using my Tangle Teezer, and then if I need the extra finishing then I'll use the boar-bristle brush. There are billions of people who never own or use a boar-bristle brush; I don't think anything horrid will happen to you if you decide not to use one.

I only used to go to salons to get my bangs trimmed (back when I had bangs), and I do all other trims/ cuts myself.

+Anastasia Milkshake I know this is old, but I used to have very long hair (it got to knee length, although I think when I was getting it trimmed in a salon it was more like hip length) and honestly it tended to be a test of a good hair dresser. If they didn't give me a hard time about the length and respected my desire for a trim rather than spending the entire time trying to talk me into a pixie cut, I'd go back. They did have some trouble with it in the sink, but they always managed. I think once or twice the shampoo person would borrow another set of hands so they could make sure to rinse the full length of the hair, especially at the end, by having someone else hold up the stuff near my scalp that had already been rinsed, but it really wasn't a Major Problem. Actually, funnily enough, even though I moved from the US to the UK and back in the intervening years, and he had another career for a while, my hair stylist now is the same one who used to trim my hair when I was younger and had it really long because I trusted him to actually TRIM it rather than hack off a foot. I've also gotten my mom to start going back to him, and referred at least three other people to his salon that I know go there regularly for cuts and styling, so clearly dealing with my extra long hair is working out well for him these days. :D Do be prepared that there are some hair cut styles that really don't work well with longer hair - like, the proportions of things like how long layers should be just don't work out right, that sort of thing. So you may occasionally hear "I can't do that" but a good stylist will explain why, and perhaps be able to suggest something that might give you something similar.

Kris Dow thanks so much for the detailed reply! that last point you mentioned, ugh, hit that first hand, went in with butt length hair and an idea for slightly updated but equally long hair and she said "yeeeeah for that we're gunna have to cut loads off kay" "oh....o...k..then" now its nearly as long as it was again :D my ladies always do a great job and ive told them im growing it and trying to keep it long so they try not to cut too much but it is kinda damaged, and they comment on it being "too long" and i "cant grow it much more" but i guess we'll just see how long i can get it, i want to keep going to them :33
