Thank you, thank you, thank you! Great helpful vid. After a week of swaping parts and trying to figure out why my Jeep Wrangler was in "limp mode," i finally discovered that mice had chewed through at least one of my wires underneath the TIPM. I had no idea how i was going to get underneath and fix the cable. I learned a lot of helpful tips like how to hard reset and how to properly connect and disconnect from the battery. Your vid saved me (and most if us here) valuable time and money. Thanks again!

@@TIPMRebuilders Mak. I just saw this video. We had issues on my son's 2019 ram 1500. We had the dash errors going off like crazy. Brake light, wipers, abs, everything. We replaced the TIPM and seemed to work fine for about 10 miles then same issue. We can disconnect the ground for 20 minutes and put back on and seems ok for another 10 miles or so then same thing happens. Dash warnings, wipers come on, won't start. Can we now do the 12 Second ignition on? Or the tying the neg and pos together overnight if that doesn't work? Thanks for the video. Well done.

After my soft top leaked on my 2015 jk my lights and wipers would not work. I checked the fuses and they were all fine - so I tried the 12 second hard reset and that did not work - so I pulled the battery cables off exactly like this instruction - left the jeep that way for 3 hours and reconnected. I did another 12 second reset jic and now everything works! Thanks for a great video!

Hi Jake. Definitely try the Hard Reset. Immediately after doing a hard reset, try a 12-second soft reset too. If it doesn't work, call us. I'd be curious to know if 1) wipers are stuck on and headlights too when the wipers are running. There is a specific cause to that combination of symptoms when coupled with dashboard issues (no gauges). If you have all three, call us 818-798-5558. -Jeff

The problem with my 2012 Jeep is that although my stock radio works, I have a parasitic draw that I narrowed down to it's fuse. Each night I have to remove that fuse from the TIPM, so that my battery doesn't drain. Would replacing the TIPM fix this problem?
@TIPMRebuilders
@TIPMRebuilders 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Usually a battery drain issue is not the TIPM unless the internal fuel pump relay is bad which would cause the fuel pump to be on after shutting the vehicle off which would kill the battery. The other component that it could be within the TIPM is a faulty IC which is harder to detect without taking that unit apart and testing internally. In any case please feel free to give us a call if you would like to send that unit in for repair or would like to try a rebuilt unit. Have a good day!

Thanks for the great presentation. You explain things so well, and your not a smart ass like some that seem to need to do that to straighten their confidence.. I need to check the connections on the PCM for my 99 Durango. It seems the trans relay does not always connect, causing limp mode. The temporary fix seems to be taking that relay out and re cleaning the available seen contacts from the relay side then reinstalling the relay. Also it seems to not work with new relay I bought, however other components will when I switch them around. Somethings not connecting, long term. I was told the wire harness does not pull out on the 99, you have to take the entire harness out of the car, stripping it down becoming a major project. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, From Joe M.

@TIPMRebuilders 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe. Your '99 predates the modern TIPM era. Our expertise drops off pretty quickly pre-2002, so I would not presume to be able to provide you a ton of high-quality advice on the '99 architecture. But perhaps it is a wiring issue between the fuse box and the transmission.
@joemarotta2237
@joemarotta2237 5 жыл бұрын
@@TIPMRebuilders Thanks for the come back. All my wiring is good, even pulled up the fuse relay box under hood,"PDC", and everything looks like new. If I ground the number 2 prong on the trans relay, it shifts perfect, leading me to the PCM. I've investigated almost non stop for a week as to what inexpensive scanner to get for this 99, and I found the Autel MaxiLink ML629 to be a useful tool for transmissions and engine, on this model, and mostly all others. Free updates forever we will see how that turns out. The second might be a couple Launch models, but so many of theirs wont even connect to this 99 Dodge. Can't hardly find negative reviews on my model Autel, which should be here today, "Sunday", so I'm a bit excited. I still do some work on the side so it might come in handy in the projects ahead. THX..

Will doing a TIPM reset possibly fix multiple electrical issues on an existing TIPM? Such as; all seat heaters and fans, 4wd control switch, all lights, all of instrument panel hazards and auxiliary inverter power. I suddenly have all these things going off when I start vehicle and windshield wipers run constantly. Then about 45 minutes later everything kicks on and wipers turn off. Next morning, same issue.

Can I safely remove and replace the fuse box (TIPM) on a Ram 2017 1500 5.7 if I disconnect the battery without doing the hard reset (Tying them together) and use a memory saver plugged into the OBD port. Would there still be no power to the TIPM? I am a little nervous about the hard reset. I liked your video very much and it is very informative. I did learn a lot from it. Thanks.

Hi Mak! Bought a rebuilt TIPM from you last week. Installed it the other day and completed a soft reset. Car started wonderfully but the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. The ABS, the swirve control, the engine, the brake, tire and airbags. Everything that we can check works except the brake lights outside. We decided to unplug the battery for 24 hours and after doing that and then another soft reset, the engine light went off but now the automatic doors will not work unless manually or with car key control and the brake lights still dont go on. What do you suggest? We have done a total of 6 soft resets (5 of them after the battery was unplugged). TYIA

@TIPMRebuilders 5 жыл бұрын
Just curious, when you say 5 of the soft resets were "after the battery was unplugged" you mean, "after having done a 24 hour hard reset", right? I just want to be sure you weren't doing soft resets while the battery was unplugged, as such reset attempts would have no effect. I am sure you meant "post-hard reset". In any event, rarely does a synchronization problem after the initial soft reset occur or last for more than a couple of days. While temporary false dashboard lights after the initial soft reset do occur from time to time, it is this door locks issue and brake lights issue that concerns me. We should definitely talk about sending you a replacement. Give us a call at 818-798-5558.

@@TIPMRebuilders Once we installed the TIPM, we did the first soft reset (battery was connected). Then we got many dashboard lights and decided to go ahead and disconnect the battery for 24 hours (TIPM was installed, battery was disconnected), then we got dashboard lights but not as many, but each time we start the car and go somewhere, we do a soft reset (counting to 12 with key engaged but not turned over, then removing key and reinserting to start) in hopes that it will get the system 100% but it doesnt. I talked to Jeff via phone and he said to give it a couple days, so by Monday, if not back to normal, I will call to get replacement. Any ideas I could try?

@@billsmith9249 The problem was the TIPM and it was 95% resolved (yes we did leave the cables tied together but not touching overnight) . I called them directly and I believe Mak answered, he instructed me to take it to the dealership and have them do a small procedure to it (sorry, cant remember the term) but it cost us $60 and took about 20 minutes. In doing this, our brake lights and back turn signals worked again as did the doors and such however the front blinkers do not work and rather than messing with it further, we decided that was acceptable. As long as people behind us can see our signals and brakes, we're good. On a side note, after we installed this TIPM and got everything working, @TIPM Rebuilders bought our old TIPM for $40 which helped with the overall expense of the repair. It's been over a year now and we are satisfied!

Having an intermittent problem with radiator fan not turning on and overheating due to that but when I hit the TIPM fans turn on or make attempt to turn on,so I guess it could be a lose connection on the plug that power up the fan under the TIPM I already replaced the radiator fan thinking that was the problem, 2015 wrangler jku 3.6 Btw great detail video

Hello, I would not be too sure which plug controls the radiator fan off the top of my head ,but I believe you should be able to find what you are looking for here: connectors.dcctools.com/home.htm Once you enter your year and platform it will take you to a new page. In the search box type in the word "totally" and you will be able to see all the pin outs for each of the connectors that connect to the bottom of the TIPM. @TIPMRebuilders
@TIPMRebuilders 5 жыл бұрын
Yes. Tying the battery cables together dissipates any stored charge in the vehicle's capacitors. Just makes it safer to work on the electrical system. But when doing it as a standalone "hard reset" (instead of when just swapping the TIPM), it can further serve to clear the control computer (PCM aka ECU) and other modules of short term memory error codes that can be causing all kinds weird anomalies. Also, it is a good habit to keep cables from flopping around and accidentally coming in contact with a battery post.

Are you able to confirm that all the fuses are pushed down as well as the connectors being snug and that the grounds are tightened properly? yes, but from what I understand, IF there is a corrosion, or water has entered then it may NOT need replaced, however you may have to pull it, clean the connections and put it back. Price? ZERO. If that does not work THEN yes you may have to buy a used one and replace it. Tip: Use dielectric grease.

Do you have to take your fuse box out to hard calibrate? Johnny Kinsler
@TIPMRebuilders
@TIPMRebuilders 3 жыл бұрын
No, not for a Hard Reset. In fact, you should leave the fuse box still fully connected. The reason is that the box being fully connected completes all the circuits, allowing capacitors in all the electrical components in the vehicle to dissipate any stored charge. If you remove the fusebox, this would be impossible. So, leave it installed, and merely disconnect the two battery cables and tie them together (away from the battery posts) for the duration of the hard reset.
