Dominique, afternoon. Been watching all your videos over here in London. Very informative and helpful. Thank you. I have a question: you mention that you have super curly hair naturally. Is it more like your sister's texture or 4C? I think I'm super strength 4C to the point that a relaxer textlaxes rather than relaxes bone straight and despite leaving it in for 20 minutes. The ends frizz up with any contact with water despite regular trims. I prefer to keep my hair straight but air drying leaves the ends frizzy. Any tips or tricks? Thank you

Heyy Dominique, thank you for the honest and informative videos. I've been relaxed and I'm currently natural. After 6 years of being natural, my hectic life has left me in need of an easier way to manage my hair. Girl, Im at a crossroads trying to figure out if I want to go back to relaxed hair. So I hit youtube looking for a healthy relaxed hair woman I could relate to until I make a decision. After 2 videos yourrrre it! Thank you again. You don't understand how much you've helped me. New Subbie! #thestruggleisREAL

Great info, thanks for sharing. Us relaxed girls are pretty scarce these days. I've been taking better care of my hair but the no heat struggle is real...frizz, frizz, frizz! Your hair is lovely by the way.

Hi Nandi! Thank you for watching! While I don't suffer from too much frizz, I feel the hairstyles are really limited! I just throw mine into a bun and call it a day. LOL! xoxoxo

Thank you for the informative video and your awesome personality. I too hate roller sets because they are hard to do on longer hair and take forever to dry (for me anyway) so i find other no heat styles. I hate sitting under the dryer for hours, every now and then i will flexi rod set and half way under dryer and dry the rest over nite.
@StyleDomination8 жыл бұрын
@ms.chelle Thank you for this! These are great tips! Honestly, the thought of sitting under a dryer for a day makes me want to die. LOL! Thanks for watching!
@karenscales55178 жыл бұрын
First let me say that your hair is just gorgeous....OMG.....you should not hide it. Getting a roller set would be a great move. I grow long hair with roller sets. No blow dryers, or flat irons. I do not own a flat iron. I have a blow dryer that I once used. My hair hates direct heat. First lesson learned. Yes...u can use direct heat on a regular basis and have healthy hair. I have achieved that in the past. But....it was extremely high maintenance and expensive.. A male beautician had this city sown up with clients, and he used blow dryers and smoky hot curlers that were placed directly in a heating stove. My hair was sooooo healthy...and lots of body. He found that balance in his clients hair and worked it. He was a master at caring for the hair and finding that balance. After he retired from the hair care business. I was lost, because.....I did not need all of these products, like oils...and moisturizers. He taught me how to care for my hair without all of those things. So.....I say that to say this...and it was over 30 years ago. If you want healthy hair.....finding that balance is very important and that is what I like about your video. Very vital information. and a reminder that my body has changed and i have changed. My hair has thrived without a lot of the things that I have seen on KZbin. But I am on a lot of medications now due to some health issues. My hair flip flops and I am ready for some consistency. I just need more balance. Thank you so much. I am on this hair journey and it is fun and interesting. I am bra strap length and shooting for 20 inches by spring. My hair has always been thick and I have never had a problem with it growing. Lost some length during a long illness period. I am back now and ready to proceed. Thank you and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

You're welcome! Right? I really needed some relaxed hair guidance so I started doing research and just started my own channel! Check out my instagram too for more hair tips! I got lucky with a hairstylist. She is friend of my mom's and suggested I start seeing her. The stylist is so great, patient and knowledgeable. Thanks for the updated information, I really find it helpful. Do you have problem with shedding and if so how do you address it?
@StyleDomination8 жыл бұрын
Hi Nickiesa! I used to have a problem with shedding BEFORE I started deep conditioning weekly. What I did was got mad at the constant shedding (lol), got a good trim, started deep conditioning weekly, and started putting a little coconut oil or almond oil on the ends each night. I would say that a few months of doing that, my shedding disappeared. I hated wearing white clothing because the broken hairs would show up so much on them, but now the problem is gone! Good luck!

If you like Leonor Greyl, you may really like Rene Furterer. That's my French natural based hair care brand of choice. the moisture and smoothness of the Karite line is out of this world. Tracee Ellis Ross is a fan of the line too.
@StyleDomination7 жыл бұрын
Becky Armady So funny you mentioned this line! I just received a bunch of Rene Furterer products that I'm testing right now. I'm loving them! The Karité line is incredible!
@beckya6407 жыл бұрын
Yay! I am so glad you like them. You've got me really interested in Leonor Greyl, but I will hold off on trying those products to save room in my cabinets and be kind to my wallet. It's difficult and almost unnecessary to be a PJ when using luxury natural products, since they tend to actually work. My holy grail search is basically over, which is great because I need to focus on other things like makeup, since I just started wearing it again. I'm looking forward to more videos. Keep up the good work. :-)
@gemruby417 жыл бұрын
I also like Rene Furterer. I've used the Karite and Carthame line, and I like them both. The shampoos don't dry my hair out, and the masks are moisturizing.
@beckya6407 жыл бұрын
gemruby41 Yes, the shampoos are a dream. Many people try to avoid sulfates, which those lines have. But if you ask me, I think sodium chloride is the culprit people should be avoiding like the plague. It's so stripping, and RF doesn't put sodium chloride in Karite or Carthame. I am so glad you like them. They are so worth the money.

Thanks so much for the update! I have a question, when you do the oil dc do you do it as the actual DC do you follow the oils conditioner type of DC. The second part to that is in what order do you do the oil conditioner b4 or after you shampoo.
@StyleDomination8 жыл бұрын
Hi there! When I do the oil DC, it is for the actual DC. When I shampoo the oils out, I will use a little Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner just to detangle. I will use the oil DC once a month. And yes, I always do the oil DC BEFORE the shampoo. I use so much oil in my hair that it would just be such an oily mess to keep it in for days. LOL! I also breakout really easily so I try to keep the oils off my face too. Hope the clarification helps. Thank you so, so much for watching! xoxoxo

When you had shorter hair (like a bob) what type of styles did you do to grow out your hair? I have a pixie cut now that I am thinking of growing out but overwhelmed by the grow out process. Also do you relax bone straight? Thanks!
@StyleDomination8 жыл бұрын
Hi there! When my hair was shorter, I'd constantly have it in a bun, being careful to place the bun in different spots (high buns, low buns, side buns, double buns). I was also careful to alternate how I'd twist my hair up into a bun too to give my hair a break from being styled the exact same way each day. You could also try other protective styles too like wigs and extensions (just be careful not to have your extensions put in too tightly). Check out kzbin.info. She has amazing tips for protective styling!! xoxoxo

what oils do you use through out the week between washings?

Do you mix the Joico conditioner with the masque because the masque is too thick?
@StyleDomination8 жыл бұрын
I mix it with the masque because the Joico detangles better, whereas the masque conditions better. Hope that helps! xoxoxo

My hair tends to be very oily when I moisturize it. And when I leave it , it gets dry. What should I do ?
@StyleDomination8 жыл бұрын
Well, what are the ingredients like of these products you are using? The daily moisturizer I use (that I forgot to include in the video, but is listed in this description box) is water-based. It's TGIN Buttercream Daily Moisturizer. It is one of the very few I use that does not make my hair gross and full of product build up. Also, are you using a deep conditioner weekly? If not, I've listed a few good ones in the description box and video. xoxoxo Good luck!
@shaniaharry59398 жыл бұрын
+Style Domination Okay I'll check that out ☺ Thank you.
@denyshadials57028 жыл бұрын
Shania Harry Try using a weekly hot oil treatment too. It can improve how your hair accepts and holds onto moisture. It sounds like you might have low porosity hair and your products might not be penetrating well.
