A dermatologist told me that because I have such a sensitivity to Retin-A that I should put on my more gentle serums & moisturize with my nighttime routine and let that combination completely dry before I go in with the any kind of Retin-A product. Its still gets into my skin but it’s just getting there really slowly, and that’s fine because putting it on straight up or even after just serums, it does some serious damage to my skin. This method has been working really wonderfully, my face isn’t on fire or drying up tight and then peeling thus rejecting a really great anti-aging product! Every other night for now, not willing to mess with what’s working just yet... I can feel and see see a bit of an improvement already and it’s only been about a month. I’ve tried to use it a bunch of times over the years but it’s always been a real nightmare, until now!

Hello Elle! I am a cosmetologist who had a couple o babies, traveled around for my partners work and have totally let any "routine" I may have had at one time, completely go! Suddenly I am 42 and am wanting to feel smooth, fresh and "pretty" again. I started using Paulas Choice waaaay back in the day (2006?) and it was good to me, but I feel it would lose it's glory after a couple of months. Honestly I had such good skin I never really had to worry about it. After I moved to British Columbia (after 37 years of intense SOCAL sun) and wasn't in the sun at all anymore I noticed a big change in my skin. It looked depleted and worn out. I began making my own cosmetics, with the help of lotioncrafter.com, and I formulated some great recipes! I was quite popular with my mom friends there and considered going into the business of making "clean" cosmetics :) However I got preg with my second child and somehow forgot everything I'd ever known. Here we are almost 3 years later, we've moved back to the US and I'm obsessing/fascinated by a routine involving serums, primers, concealers, foundations..all of which were insignificant before. I was a Clinique compressed powder and cat eyeliner girl since I was 13. Depending on my suntan, blush or no blush :). On my new journey I have found YOU! YOU!! are incredible. I love all the insight you share, videos you produce and products you recommend. I feel you are similar in skin tone and texture, ingredient tolerance and ethically conscience as I, and I just wanted to applaud you. Thank you for sharing.
