i once lived in a place that was a living room kitchen open situation like yours and a bathroom and no bedroom , and it was myself and my two children . our couch made out into a bed . we had a card table an chairs that we used as a dining set . i had a dresser in the living room another chair , and a metal closet situation by the bathroom door arranged somewhat like a room divider between the kitchen an living room part of the room . the place had three windows total , one in the living room area , a tiny one in the bathroom and one in the door you walked into to get in the place . there was no back door , no washer and dryer either . today i’m sixty eight years old and my children are both in their forties and they both tell me living in this tiny place with me was one of the greatest happiest times of their childhood !

This a great way to live debt free. When you get your own land and build your forever home, perhaps you can design everything so you have another tiny home that can bring in an income and then as your children are transitioning to leave they can use it. Eventually, you can move into it at retirement and rent out the big house for income. I know a lot of people want their privacy, but how you design the property layout and landscaping can still allow privacy. It’s always good to have multiple streams of income. Nice job decorating!

That space looked lovely! I have limited mobility thanks to arthritis and a stroke. My husband is about to retire from working on a research ag facility. I spent years teaching, scout leading, newspaper reporting, etc., but now I crochet and play at being grandma. We have been married almost 50 years but we turned over most of our bigger items to the kids. We would love to live in a space only slightly bigger than this to allow for our needs, but more could pose more work for 2 older folks with limited mobility and resources. Space outside for gardening and for grandkids to play is all we need for space and a storage area for a select collection of yarn for my crochet habit would keep me happy. We don’t want to put lots of money in a home at this point, just basic comfort and needs.

I love tiny. I am 59, so I already live debt free. We've raised our 3 kids in a 1400 SF fixer home that we bought 18 years ago, but this year my husband and I will be moving into a 400 SF park model log cabin in a small RV park that we own. We collected a lot of stuff over the years raising our kids, and I am so looking forward to downsizing to having much less stuff. I am adding a lot of built in storage to both of the bedrooms in the cabin and it already has a lot of kitchen storage, so that it is a tiny home with a megaton of storage. Between that and a 200 SF outbuilding for tools and a deep freezer, we should be able to keep it very uncluttered. I lived in a small RV with my husband when I went to college, and I loved it. Having less is freedom. Stuff is work. It's going to be so much easier to keep my 400 SF home clean and maintained than my 1400 SF home. I had to have a bigger home for my kids in the cold climate we live in, but now that they are grown, I am so looking forward to living tiny again.

I could comfortably live here, alone. I don’t know if I could live there with my husband, he’s so messy! But debt free is the ultimate goal for everyone.

I love everything about your home. Yes, I would/I want/I will live tiny. I’m 52 years old and there is ZERO reason for me to go in debt for a home, tiny is where my heart is. Your layout is absolutely perfect and well thought out. I’m a new subscriber and I love it here. This is my kind of content.❤

Your stove looks fine. Maybe they sell replacement Rings separate that you can change out? I did not see any rust in the video because I'm looking at this from my phone and it is Tiny. It is a beautiful stove . The blankets look amazing on top of the haha "vintage" closet. Your home is beautiful

Thank you, it's definitely not for everyone and it's even a stretch for us. But I just love any kind of alternative housing that gives people more freedom 🩷

Kitty in the corner looked like a painting. A big basket under the clock could also store blankets or pillows. 😊

Hi Lacey, thank you so much for sharing your home. I love the tiny house setup. I am 66 years old and retired. It is a great possibility to purchase land and have a couple of small homes on the property. I love your narrative of your space, it did help to cement my idea to buy land and tiny homes soon.

I'm actually in the research stage of Tiny living. I want to go tiny, but I'm doing my research. I'm taking notes from everyone else about do and don't, etc. I don't want to dive in unprepared. I've been downsizing and replacing. Measuring she's and furniture and built in stuff. I'm a big planner. And I like to have plans for failed plans. But, I'm saving money slowly and I'll get there.

We kinda just jumped in. Lol. Although I had been watching tiny home inspiration videos on KZbin for 5 years beforehand. I think for my personality I have to jump in feet first and learn to swim as I go. Downsizing was the hardest part of this transition so it's good to purge as much as you can ahead of time. I would definitely encourage anyone to give tiny living a try if you want to. ☺️ Good luck on your journey!

What are the outside dimensions of your adorable tiny home? How big is your bedroom? We live in 830 sq ft on 33 acres. Rent is super cheap, but we plan to buy and live tiny forever. @lovelaceyxo

@@debbienance8258 the building is 16×24. My bedroom is small I don't know the exact dimensions but we had a king size bed in here along with a large safe.

It's adorable, I would live there, and yes, I am debt free, including my home. I wouldn't trade the feeling of freedom for a larger sized home or greater possessions. We intentionally bought what is a small home for our neighborhood, which is 1650 sq feet. We wanted to be able to pay it off quickly, and since I suffer from chronic pain and fatigue, we also wanted something that was easily manageable.

What an amazing job of turning a shed into your home! I am single and would live in it. I love watching tiny homes videos…but I live in New York State and don’t think they’re legal here. Anyway, you are so lucky to have it on your parent’s property! Beautiful home and beautiful life. Thanks for sharing.
