I love this our story is the same. Bought me some property in Feb made a 3 acre garden on it, bought a small shed 14x33 (inside) in May and have spent the last two months sorting through everything to downsize. Suppose to be out of my house on the 20th of this month had some major anxieties about it. Seeing your cabin finished helped ease a lot of fears. Thank you for sharing

Are you ready to build the best chicken coop ever? Then you need this book! kzbin.infoUgkxzaRUJNcbypw-fRBDbqqz43ULIa-1EGP- It has tons of awesome barns and coops that you can choose from, without making you dizzy with too many options. The book is super easy to follow, with lots of pictures and videos to show you how it's done. But don't expect to learn everything about chickens here, this book is all about the structures. You'll have to look elsewhere for chicken care tips. Trust me, this book is a must-have for any chicken lover!

I am so impressed by what your mom has done, but I keep coming back to it. At 64 years old with a very small retirement savings, this seems perfect. I have to say thank you… You are the only one who has listed ideas of electrical, plumbing, sewage… Costs. When you’re trying to figure out how much something like this would cost, then add postage stamp size property. It actually makes me feel more comfortable for my retirement years. So once again, thank you for sharing this.

Yes ❤️ and at 62 looking t0 relocate to pricing new set up. Yet I have a custom Shed my Mom had built on her Farmhouse land. Due to storms homeowners negligence home not in best shape after ongoing repairs replacement renovations. Yet thinking about this temp. To Deal with homeowners on main home with Apt upstairs. I'm just beside myself devastating all happened. But this would definitely be best and try to recover to get all fixed to not lose all my Mom's BEAUTIFUL Dreams Memories turned into gutted Farmhouse. I love DIYS crafts myself. Dealt with Home Depot thru all my repairs etc. So thank you for these break downs. This is Great. Such an adorable place. Love that kitchen...More

Adorable! I'm retired and down sized from a 3000 Sq ft home to 1000 Sq ft and it's not easy to do. You have a lot of life to squeeze into a much smaller space. There's 2 of us now. My husband, 3 daughters and I built the house we moved from. It took us 10 yrs and we did everything ourselves. It was a vacant 5 acre wooded lot when we bought the property. We excavated, installed the septic/sewer system, built a basement apartment, lived in that and built 2 more floors above plus a 2 car garage, big front porch and huge deck. We poured the concrete, side walks, garage floor and long driveway. That's the hardest 10 yrs of my life!!! We sold it and moved to a smaller home in another city after our girls married and moved into their homes. I would not do it again...ever! But all 3 of our girls build and do projects at their own homes. It did give them the knowledge and confidence to be be more self reliant than most women their age. And they're hard workers, not a lazy bone in their body. You've made yourself a very nice cozy home. You should be very proud of yourself and your home. It looks very comfortable. Thanks for sharing.

My husband and I decided to build a shed home when our youngest was 18. She helped in the planning and building. Our goal was to teach her to use every tool. And she pretty much did. Side effect, she won't even date anyone "useless". She set the bar pretty high, her fellas have to know their way around a workshop. We ended up selling that property and moved last year to a new acreage, and yes we're building even bigger this time! There are already 2 houses on the property, we're just building an art studio. But oh my, it's grand! I guess we just like projects.

As a 63 year old US Navy retiree, who recently retired from a regular job, I've looked at going tiny myself. I'm working on upgrades,touch ups and repairs to my 4 bedroom, 3 bath house in hopes of selling it in the near future to go tiny. I have way too many power tools and knowledge of basic building, not to use them in some manner. I'm seriously looking at school buses so that I can park and travel when I want. You Momma is a wonderful example of being productive after our mid 50s. I love the set up of the house and how warm and cozy it looks. Good for her for doing what she wanted and apparently lives. 🥰

@WomanUnfiltered2 жыл бұрын
@@sylviaschepers5166 I've looked at many options over the past couple of years, to determine what i need space wise. I'm afraid a box truck would be way too small for me. I'm looking at full size, activity school buses due to the length being activity buses they have storage panels underneath. I have a small craft business that includes woodworking, sewing, vinyl and jewelry. Needless to say even pared down there's a lot of supplies and tools, so storage is needed for that. I looked at box trucks, but would have to get like a 36 footer for it to work and honestly school buses are so much cheaper to buy. Lol

Girl your momma! ! She has some mad skills. Was she a construction worker or home builder in her youth? Amazing how she just knows how to build shelves and panel and insert a tub and caulk it and more! This is my life goals. I love this. Hail to the home building queen!

Wonderful! I've seen a fair few retirement tiny home tours but this is a really well thought out design, and so homey. Functional, fabulous AND futureproofed!

It’s wonderful! I love that she uses demoed materials. I’d suggest tile the entire bathroom. It’s so much easier to keep clean. We downsized about 5 years ago. I care for our grandchildren, ages 2 and 5, Monday to Friday. I love it so much we only dropped to about a 1000sq feet. But my husband needs an office, and I still have a place to sew and quilt. Enjoy

Your mom is so creative and handy. I love that she had the electrician rough it in and then show her how to do the connection so that she could maintain it. She has done a beautiful job on it to make it into a very comfortable home. And I have a feeling that it’s going to always be in a state of evolution, because there will be always one more thing that she’s gonna want to make better. 😊❤️

I LOVE this house. Your Mom is a Genius! LOVE the Kitchen and Living room. (I'm just Not into too much clutter, like on front porch, but I clearly understand the baby stuff and grandchildren stuff). And LOVE those curtains in the Bedroom. You did EXCELLENT Mom.

I really love this! I'm retired now with my husband, but as we get older we worry about what it would be like without one of us. I hate that thought, but being close to family in a tiny home looks like a great idea for one person.

So cute love the movable stair/ storage & it was pretty holding the plants before you closed it off as well your mom's very creative :). That's a good size shed. Thanks for sharing. My mother loved the idea of "tiny homes" If she didn't get alheimers disease she would have gotten one. She was a busy bee as well. She's not here anymore enjoy yours :) it's nice to see your generations staying together.
