Just got 6" gutters installed on a hip roof with a 18-20 slope, 243 linear feet. The guy installed 2 downspouts in each corner except one... was that necessary? He said "he believes in downspouts" and that's why he installed a total of 7 downspouts. When it rains, some of the downspouts barely downs any water because most of the water is coming from the one next to it in the other side of the corner. I have cameras in my property and they block the view of the cameras and he said there was nothing else he could do. I think installing 1 down spout per corner would been enough.

Hi.. I would like your sincere opinion...I just had gutters installed a couple of days ago and one of them is leaking behind the gutter. I went up to inspect and there are extra holes on the back wall of the gutter.. looks like they made those in the wrong place, so they drill a few inches next to it.. but those 2 holes are wide in the open and water is going in through to the back leaking.. .my question is...since it's a 70 foot long.. one piece... should the installer replace the whole section or would he just put some caulking and call it good and I should accept that?

Would be a waste to replace They should easily be able to seal the holes and they should never leak should take seconds. The leaking most likely is not coming from the holes that would surprise me. I would say the drip edge needs to be bent out in any area water 💦 goes behind the gutter.😉👍

Those holes are probably from adjusting the pitch on the gutter. Instead of going into the same hole, they went near it instead. Like everything gutted said, simply sealing those oles with a good caulk will fix it easily.
