Updates I made to the Kitchen Area on the Vistabule Teardrop Trailer also Goes to Fruita, CO

On the flats it does awesome. If your in the mountains you will slow down a lot, but it's not a problem for me. Every car has its pro and cons, so a few slow time on the hills does not bother me. It’s really nice using manual mode on the tough climbs. Hope that helps!

Nice Subaru, I have a 2018 Outback 2.5 Premium , I drove it to Rockies, Dinosaur National Monument, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, Black Hills and Badlands in 2 weeks June of 2018 from Ohio. No problems.

Thanks for your informative video. Your Vistibule Teardrop looks great. Maybe adding adhesive backed Velcro between the storage boxes would help. I picked up ideas I'll incorporate into the teardrop I build. I drive a 2015 Forester 2.5i so we have similar towing capacity.

Johnny Battle Life, I had a welder build the trailer frame with a Dexter torsion axle. The teardrop will be 5'4" wide by 10' long and have a Benroy(ish) profile. Instead of skinning it with aluminum I'll fiberglass the exterior and paint it. It will have a 160 watt roof mounted solar panel. I plan to have an AC/DC fridge/freezer in the galley.

Johnny, I really like how your spare tire is mounted on the underside of your Vistabule's A-frame tongue. My trailer has an A-frame tongue built with rectangular 3" x 2" tubing. I'm considering how a spare tire could be mounted to the underside of my trailer's tongue. It would require some kind of a mounting plate/area with correctly spaced bolt holes to match the spare tire. Could you post a photo, or followup video, showing how your tongue area tire mount is set up? I'll have a tongue box similar to yours mounted above the tongue. Are you a member of www.tnttt.com? Hi from Tasmania Australia. I have a 2018 xv (crosstrek) that i use to tow a Jayco freedom pop top caravan with.The van weighs around 900kgs,In Australia you can tow 1400 kgs braked with the subaru.

10 pound rated velcro does a great job holding stuff in place. Usually find it in the sewing area. I find that as a good way to hold things together and less permament than glue. #2centsworth

Hi Dave...The trailer is about 1200 lbs dry and 1500 lbs loaded. Milage depends on if I'm driving in the mountains or on the flats. Mountains 20-24mpg and flats around 24-27 mpg.

I have a 2016 Crosstrek and am looking for a small lightweight camping trailer, as the Subaru's do not have much in the way of towing capacity. Have you made any mods to your Crosstrek, or does the stock Crosstrek tow the Vistabule Tear Drop trailer ok? Just looking for some advice as I would be using the trailer for mountain biking trips much like you. Keep spinning and keep the rubber side down!

the crosstrek does a nice job of towing the trailer on the flats. If you run into large hills it will slow you down a lot, but overall it works great. I don't have current data on the Fuel economy, but when I get some more data I will share it in an upcoming video

I have a 2016 Crosstrek. I'm looking to get a 4x6 enclosed cargo trailer with a ground to roof height of approx 6 1/2 feet, empty weight of approx 700 lbs and could carry no more than 200 lbs of cargo. In your opinion, do you see any issues towing a configuration like this with the Crosstrek?

HI Brian you would have to check the towing rate for the 2016 my 2018 is 1500 lbs as long as you stay with in the mfg towing rate you should be fine. The crosstrek did ok with the teardrop due to the low profile of the trailer.
