UPDATES! July 11, 2023: All requirements to unlock allied races have been removed. You just need a level 40 character on your account to access the unlock scenario at your faction's embassy! Oct 13, 2020: Reputation requirements to unlock these Allied Races have been removed! Also, due to the level squish, heritage armor now unlocks after leveling an Allied Race to 50 without level boosts.

Since I found Gandalin 1-2 years ago, I have always watched his videos and found them to being more easy explained then the rest of guides you can find because Gandalin always goes step by step in his guides which makes it a lot easier for a non-english speaking guy like me.

I'm just being honest, you are doing a great work. :) Like the times you have gone through step by step and going to tell more in detail for each step, even then you are telling in the easiest way so I or anyone else who are a non-English speaking will understand what we have to do in order to get a quest, achievement, rep or whatever done in the right way and also the fastest, which means a lot for us. :)

I was SO happy when you said you can unlock the allied races regardless of what faction - I played Horde since BC and decided to switch it up next expansion - really wanted a lightforged draeni. I heard a few times that you could only unlock them from the server you're playing on- which would be a very painful process to do from a completely new server and new faction xD - But it makes more sense it's account-wide because the achievements are as well.

Hmm I cant take The quest for Nightborne, cant even find start quest. Is it that u need to be exalted before you can do it?

If you mean the quest to recruit the Nightborne, yes, you have to be Exalted and have completed Insurrection before you can pick it up.

The criteria for these Allied Races can be completed in any order. :)

For lightforged i have both achives but cant find the quest

The quest is available from the Stormwind Embassy, so if you go there, you should be able to pick it up. Also, you can only recruit one allied race at a time, so if you're currently working on Void Elves, you won't be able to start Lightforged until you're finished. Hope that helps!

Not exactly. You can be Horde and complete all the requirements (the achievements I mentioned) to unlock Lightforged Draenei, but you need an Alliance character to actually complete the recruitment questline and unlock them.

No, the recruitment quest line is what comes after you do the Argus story and reach Exalted with the Army of the Light. You can do the prerequisites with any character but you have to do the recruitment with a character of the appropriate faction.

if i use A 110 boost on a non-allied race (like a regular draenei) do i still get the heritage armor?

Your question is a little unclear. Using boosts on non-allied race toons has no bearing on getting allied race heritage armor. If you mean that you'll boost a non-allied race and then do a race change, then you'd only get the armor if you already leveled that allied race to 110. Using a boost and race changing doesn't work. If you're referring to potential future heritage armor for the core races (dwarves and blood elves have it now, gnomes and tauren are coming in 8.2), those have different unlock mechanics than allied races. I hope one of those answers your question!

They are considered completely different races, so you're free to boost a regular draenei and then level a lightforged and still get the lightforged armor.

Yes, these are the requirements to unlock these 4 allied races. The ones coming in BfA will have their own as well. Probably not going to be exactly the same requirements, but all will have something you must do to earn them.

So, each Allied Race has its own set of achievements to complete in order to unlock them. Nightborne have one set, Highmountain have another. So the requirements I talked about in this video were specific to the 4 Allied Races that have been released so far. Ones that are released in the future will have different sets of achievements. For the Alliance reps, you can also try to farm rep tokens from the invasion bosses on Argus. They have a chance to drop them now. You can also get rep tokens from class hall missions and the Kirin Tor emissary. But world quests are the primary method of gaining rep in Legion. They're the most lucrative source.

ok, i do have BFA and both achievements. I also talked to anduin and pursued the void elf race. I looked up why i still can't unlock the void elf race and it said to do the quest " The Ghostlands", but the quest isn't showing. Do you have any idea why?

hmm I'm not sure. Once you choose to pursue the Void Elves, Alleria should give you that quest. Maybe try relogging?

Yes, the Nightborne join the Horde, so they need to be recruited by a Horde character.

I have completed the both achievements needed to unlock the nightbourne race on an alliance character and you said the achievements are account bound so I can do it on any character, but it doesn't let me create a nightborne character. Do I need a horde character on lvl 110 in order to create one?

The achievements are indeed account-bound, but you need a 110 Horde character to complete the recruitment questline. Only then will you be able to create a Nightborne character.

@@GandalinGaming Thank you very much, it did help me however I ran into an issue. There is a quest called "Reinforce the light's purchase", I had a person with me in the group together. When I went to Alleria, she wasn't there and the quest itself disappeared from my quest log but for the person in my group, it worked perfectly. I can't redo the quest. I didn't abandon the quest, but it disappeared unknown for some reason.

That quest alternates with a different quest up at the Veiled Den so it isn't always available. Sounds like the person you were grouped with had it up in their realm/shard/phase, but when you left group you didn't have it in yours. They switch each day. Hope that helps!

Hey Gandalin, I completed the requirements on horde side for lightforged. I made a 110 trial for ally but it does not give me a quest. Does the 110 trial affect it?

Seems like this was recently changed so that you can't unlock Allied Races with a class trial. Blizz probably never intended for you to be able to use a class trial in the first place. Sorry!

No. You could get You Are Now Prepared and Officer of the Light on 2 different characters and still be able to unlock Lightforged Draenei.

You can once you've unlocked the Highmountain Tauren. However, you won't earn the heritage armor that way. You have to level a new Highmountain Tauren from scratch to get it. But once you earn it, you can use it on any Highmountain Tauren, even a race changed one.

Sorry you feel that way. I think the requirements for Allied Races are pretty reasonable given the lore behind why we get them. And they don’t take a ton of time if you’re just focusing on getting one race.

I disagree, it’s not even within BFA content it’s Legion.. so it takes players off the new content and makes them even worse by forcing people to play old content, and before you argue it’s not a requirement to get the races. . Who isn’t going to want that, cmon. It’s forcing people, just like the game force you to do dailies. Anyway, I’m disappointed I just wanted to do 5 mans in whatever I chose and farm mounts and toys lol Wow sucked after MOP
