Updating Celestron Advanced VX Firmware (and fix bricked hand controllers)

Congrats on your AVX! It's definitely a great purchase. If you have a newer version of the hand controller, you probably have a USB connection so updating it will be even easier since you only need 1 cable in between your computer and controller. Clear skies!

Hello, I have a Celestron VX mount after updating the controller and mounting, it shows an error 17 and not detected mount. Please suggest what to do?

Hey, sorry for the delay, somehow missed your comment. Error 17 is a communications issue. I would try unplugging everything and reconnecting them in case something is loose. Also make sure you're sending the mount enough power. If you still get that error, you can try downgrading the firmware and see if that works. If you're still getting the error, you may have to reach out to Celestron Support because it could be something with the hand controller or the mount control board (hopefully not).
