Updating Display Audio Software for Honda Accord 2018-2020 (18AA-2071-001)

This video shows how to update your unit with the latest system update. Process displayed is through a Wi-Fi Connection. Below are the fixes/enhancements (will differ by year).

Additions/Enhancements:
• Garmin Navigation app update to version 2.24.
Provides software updates to correct the following potential intermittent errors:
• Conceals Wi-Fi password after initial connection setting.
• System resets while driving.
• Apple CarPlay® disconnects while in use.
• Display Audio shows incorrect device name when paired to a Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
• Information from the Display Audio appears blank on the meter display.
• Bluetooth® connected pop up message at Ignition ON.
• Brightness mode for the Display Audio and buttons syncing with lighting.
• HondaLink app reports incorrect vehicle information.
• System resets while in Reverse.
• Parking sensor displays Full view, when set to Split view.
For USB Updating:
Download the update
1. From the Home screen, select System Updates, then via USB.
2. Connect a flash drive to the USB port in the center pocket or console compartment*.
3. Once the system finishes copying to the flash drive, disconnect the drive and connect it to your computer.
4. Follow the link to download the update files. See usb.honda.com for more details.

Thanks for this! My 2019 sport wasn’t updating at first via WiFi (it kept saying my system was up to date). So I turned on the hotspot for my phone and connect it via usb cable ( center console) and waited a few minutes, tried again and I got the update!! Hope this helps someone!

My 2019 Honda Accord does not have the System Update menu at all. How do I do this without it? It can connect to wifi, but there is nothing it can do with internet. No browser, no apps, nothing that uses internet. Even android auto is not showing most of the apps.

Try removing battery terminal for a few minutes. Once connected everything will be reset. You will have to drive around to recalibrate everything.

Unfortunately no. Must upgrade entire head unit to either aftermarket or higher trims from OEM.

Must be a strong signal otherwise it won't download. It does this to prevent a bad download and corrupting your unit upon install.

So far iv’e only done the front grill and vinyl rapped the honda emblem to black front and back. (UPDATED) I went back after the car was sitting for half hour and it all came back on it's own. ;-) So if this happens to you just wait a bit. Don't update it! I just did the update and lost the Audio and Phone display on the dash (where the tachometer is) .

Make sure you are using appropriate connection cable. I used an non apple cable and it didn’t work. I went and bought an apple usb cable and it worked. Of course this is for apple phone.

Here in KSA the Stupid ass dealer removed the fuc**i update button which means we’re stuck with those bugs forever. Honda should not allow dealers to mess with their cars and remove a whole punch of stuff just to save some $$. They even removed the front sensors, wireless charger, and blind spot, and this is the T 2.0 I’m talking about

Took 3 hours you need to have a clean USB drive of more than 16GB.

And then once it’s copied over the link from the car head unit, you will have to go into the house plug it into the computer USB and follow the link to download from Garman and then will take a couple of hours and then you have to go back to the car and start up the car and connect it to update and that’s gonna take another 2 to 3 hours.

Any idea if this will work with the stereo in a 2020 Honda Civic? Mine has an issue that every now and then the phone would disconnect from the stereo randomly. I would have to unplug and replug the phone for it to work and sometimes would have to try more than once. Its weird and like I said its random, so I can be driving and listening to a song and mid way through the song it just stops and the can't connect error comes up on the screen. Very annoying.
