Updating ESU Mobile Control II Throttle

Join Christian for a short video on how to update your ESU Mobile Control II Throttle.
Please Note: This video shows the standard update procedure for All ESU Mobile Control II Throttles. If you recently bought an ESU CabControl DCC system with this throttle it will come with AT LEAST Version 1.1.3. At the time of this video 1.1.3 is the newest version available on our website so there is no need to update that throttle. If you have bought a separate Mobile Control II throttle it could be possible that it will need an update. Firmware Version 1.1.3 will update the 50113 and 50114 Mobile Control II throttles to work with the ESU CabContro DCC system. No throttles included with the CabControl System will need to be updated until 1.1.4 is available.

that's great but the damn android device is SO F-ing slow! it takes like 10 minutes for it to boot all the way up and that's with all the google services stopped. Can you make a 3.0 version yet?

Hi. I actually shipped my MCII to ESU (USA) last December for the update as it was quite flaky from the day I purchased it, several months earlier. It is just as flaky and it now Hangs on the Android Robot Image at startup and is unusable. I use it with my ESU Command Station (colour screen). Does it need a newer update? Can you please advise what to do? Everything else on the layout works perfectly. Thanks. -Chris

Hi Christian, have you updated yourself lately? This the beauty of this system, the end user can update as the updates become available without anyone needing to send it back to the manufacturer. I would certainly try doing this first. Then if still having trouble please contact [e-mail]

I have Not tried yet as I wanted guidance first. I thought perhaps it somehow needed a master reset of some kind before trying anything else.

I have version 1.1.3 do I need to update ??

I have tried that and the start update tab will not become active

Please make sure the throttle is ON and plugged in. Once both conditions apply the start update tabs becomes active.

Does the ECOS need to be on? I have tried all options and still cannot get the tab active. Thanks

No the Throttle only. Try a different Micro USB Cable. It could be that the cable you are using is not allowing proper transmission of the data.
