It is a lot of work as you always want your garden to be at it's best, but remember we are our worst critics. Good morning my great friend. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! You so deserve this and I always thought that your gardens are stunning and gorgeous and well maintained. I am doing the happy dance. With the fence painted it will bring everything together for the tour. To me not all places and gardens need to big/large. Most of the time the saying is this: "Less is more" I would if it were me, put down the compost then mulch. Have fun planting the iceberg rose and completing the small area and have a wonderful day.

Fourth, all that leaf mold you cleaned up from underneath the ferns is nutritious. Consider forking/digging it into the north-facing border in the back yard. The clay is super nutrient dense, but the texture could be more friendly.

Yes! Nutritious!! My husband and I just went to the “woods” and gathered old leaves from damp areas with the soil underneath to put in my new raised beds!
