Love what your doing. I also watch Diyfferent, they have put a new foundation under there home in Fla. he did a great job may help you all. Railing looks terrific painted white! I’m a firm believer in getting other people’s funk out and replacing it with ours.🤣Sometimes it takes longer to tape off a area then to paint it. Nothing beats those straight paint lines! 👍

The white stair railing looks so much better than that dark green color. I was also amazed at how much better the wood walls and floors looked after you used that soap stuff on it. Ouch! Butt splinter! 😣 The stairs look so much better, and now you can navigate those steps easier due to the edge detail. That was the perfect solution! As you’re working, I’m thinking is shouldn’t be sitting in air conditioning…I should do the solidarity thing and work out in my hot garage. And then I remembered, I did stuff like what you’re doing thirty years ago in a super hot house….washing all the woodwork, plastering, sanding, painting, wallpapering, installing fixtures, etc. I’m with you in spirit, and I can tell you that you will be incredibly satisfied every time you complete a project! The struggle is half the fun - take it from an older fluffy gal. Oh, and the projects never end - they only move outdoors…wood chisels, stain, and waterproofing…😂 Keep up the great work! I can’t wait to see what is next on your to-do list!

U have the energy of a 5 year old! Think about the pointed end cap on the stair rail. Maybe sand that on at the bottom of staircase a little rounded for safety. They have a paint roller that was invented when old hot heat boiler units were installed in every room to paint behind them. This tool is great (faster and easier) to paint railings. ❤️ seeing the progress!

I remember my mom making us scrub the stairs and banisters as punishment. If we were "to sick" to go to school but felt good enough to go play after school we had to wash the stairs, banisters, and woodwork. Boy we did not fake often.

Very impressed how good you did scrubbing it and painting it looks awesome, Getting stuff moved up there if you install a fixed railing you might have issues getting a chair up there and stupid things i say a hinged at the bottom or removable one. Good evening Candice. Just watching this video my poor back and knees would have been aching so badly doing this project. I know you said you have some medical conditions but man you can move around so well. Before you do any painting outside you may want to see if your wood needs a few coats of Linseed Oil. If the wood is too dry it will continue to rot whether you paint it or not. The house I grew up in was built in the 1910's and had wooden lap board siding at the rear of the house and this gawd awful pressed paper with tar and fine gravel siding on the rest of it. It kind of looked like they had used roof shingles for siding except that the siding was over 1/4 inch thick. When we removed that siding we tried to paint and the wood was soooo dry it was absorbing every coat. So we taped off the windows and used a sprayer to soak the whole place with Linseed Oil. It worked.

Holy buckets, that looks awesome! I love the bright white stair tread and white on the railing. Sorry about the splinter; ouch! For my grandkids ouchies I got a bottle of liquid Band-Aid Hurt Free Antiseptic. It has Lidocaine in it so it takes the hurt away long enough to clean and dress the wound. (Don’t think it would work so well on your bum though. 😊) You are amazing!
