@CaTastrophy4274 жыл бұрын
Softer shell, less harmful, actually. Sticky hair, definitely. Cranial fracture, probably. Major brain damage, maybe. Snapped neck, possibly. But there'd be no shattered skull and splattered head in the majority of cases, were there cases of ripe watermelons falling onto people's heads from, say, ~12 feet in the air. Botanically speaking, it's be nigh impossible for them to grow any higher than about 15' up, because the weight would be likely to bend the trunk too much after that point.

I 19 have have my head down as I'm finding his hand and bodily movements distracting and later find out o process info better if it's mostly visual or audio but not both, and he suddenly shouts " you are really starting to piss me off!" I look up to see him looking at me so I'm thinking, wtf is this dude's problem? Apparently he had been recently promoted and this was his trial period before he was given an actual instructor role, but he didn't yet have the sense that people fail themselves in the military, and results are what matter. So he took my head being down as me not listening or robotically fixate on his presence. I hope he eventually pried his head from his ass as I did after realising the army was just a job, and not something I wanted make a career with when those people are everywhere. Also something I just remembered. There was this dude that had a civilian life of working a construction site. He was younger than me, a rank below me, but was obvious he had a good head on his shoulders, so I didn't question his judgment when he had input to give. He knew I was socially awkward before I even knew that was a thing. He was a good dude, hard working and knew his shit. I hope he's making 100k now with his own business because he was worth it. I had one similar to the ATM story at 0:40. I was an overnight cleaner at Walmart and shortly before closing I was sweeping the floor near the ATM. Then a woman using the ATM flips out at me, accusing me of trying to get her PIN number as she was entering it. Right; did she really think I was going to steal a customer's debit card? I had the whole store to clean; does she really expect me to just stand there twiddling my thumbs waiting for her and everyone in line behind her to finish using the ATM? I think it's clear her real problem is that she thinks she's god and she expects everyone to stand around waiting for her to finish. I had a similar reaction from an overnight Walmart manager. She was using a piece of equipment and I waited until she was far enough away until I walked behind her. Then she flipped out at me, saying I wasn't supposed to get within a few feet of her while she was using that equipment. I WASN'T within a few feet of her; I had waited for her to get sufficiently far away so I was several feet from her. Moreover she was moving away from me. Finally I had to clean the whole store by myself (since the other cleaner called in sick) and I didn't have time to stand around waiting all night for her. Just like the woman at the ATM she thought everyone had to stand around waiting for her. And she certainly didn't practice what she preached; a few times while she was hauling a skid with a pallet jack she came out of nowhere without warning and cut in front of me while I was scrubbing, forcing me to immediately slow down or I would have ran into her. Sadly her behaviour is all too typical of Walmart managers and is a major reason everyone hates working there, and illustrates why Walmart has a (well deserved) reputation for chronic mistreatment of staff.

The couple only then came back to us when it still didn’t work, turns out they misunderstood what was included in the product and needed product y to fulfil the desired feature, they were frustrated but there was little I could do other than show them what they needed. But the “this B serious?” moment was when they wanted me to refund product x, which they had bought from a different company and none of us told them to buy. The kicker? Had they come to us first we could have sold them the thing they needed for less than the price they paid at the other company. When you get to customs, they divide the crowd by passports - UK and EU one side, everybody else the other side. Fortunately, we had oceanic passports, so we took the comparably shorter line. As one family moved from the line because their kid was throwing up, another mother with a stroller broke from the UK line to follow us and started to berate us about skipping lines and that if we get to, then they should. Even after explaining the situation, she was irate. Eventually, my father had words with her but I could only imagine how the people at customs felt watching this.

She spends countless hours on it daily and has a fear that the rest of the family will see it through the Screen Time feature on her iPhone which she strictly keeps off. One day, unbeknownst to us, she turned it on and put a pin to monitor and reduce her daily time. Unfortunate for us, she forgot she had turned it on and forgot the pin with it. The day comes when she "discovers" that "somebody" turned the feature on to monitor her. Here's where it get's crazy. She storms into my room incoherently yelling at me and threatening to break my (new) computer and other items I hold dear. After assuring the Raging Bull that i didn't touch her phone, she sprinted to my sister's room and repeated her words (although my sister did not have a brand new computer). After telling the bull that she did not touch the phone, the bull threatened us with arbitrary punishments and heft in a huff. She came back home later that day and apologized to us.

The story about the mom who tried to claim the employee wouldn't let her daughter play games reminded me of a story of my own. A few years ago I got a summer job at some retail clothing store where the target audience was for young girls (though some of the largest stuff could fit adults, but about half the shirts probably had flipped sequin designs). I remember one of the first days I was working there there were some little girls who were shopping with their mom and grandma. Once they had bought everything they wanted, they were about to leave when the store's alarms started going off. This actually happens a lot since sometimes those security tags on the items would end up getting overlooked during purchase, and so some of my coworkers and I had to go through the bags and find what was causing the alarms to go off. I eventually found them attached to the Fitbits, and proceeded to remove them. A few minutes after we put everything back and handed the bags back to the customers, the mother and grandmother angrily come up to the counter and ask to return everything they had just bought. They were mad at us because they were supposed to be surprises for the kids (the very ones they had brought with them). No idea how we could have avoided any of that, and my manager wasn't even really mad at us for it, but I still feel kinda bad for those girls that their mom thought they didn't deserve any of those nice things just because it couldn't be a surprise.

The parks employee people who maintain these rides year round. Rides that NEVER move out of their places and if they do they are moved once or twice in their lifespan onto an area that has been marked, leveled and setup specifically for that ride. Carnivals..... Are tore down and moved and then put back up in a different location. The general wear and tear just from that is monstrous. Ever stripped a bolt? Cross threaded a screw? You telling me that NEVER happens? At least in a theme park they literally have a shop that can make the parts needed and modify if needed overseen by ACTUAL engineers and machinists. She gets wide-eyed with rage and says (loudly and offended) "I am a married woman, you will address me as Missus!" And I thought, "Wow, you are literally shouting at me to recognize we're here because you committed adultery. Whatever you want..."

had such a moment with a stranger at an airport. i had bought a burrito for breakfast so i could eat it before getting on the plane. i timed it like that at the airport. (this was lsat year, pre covid 19)There were few seats by my gate. so i sat in between two different groups at one seat left. i was right next to this older lady who did NOT look pleased i sat there. sorry im overweight, sorry im out of breath running aorund the airport, sorry I needed to eat my breakfast before boarding the plane. Then my leg started to tap; that is not something I can control unless I'm thinking about it. She blew up at me by that point stating I needed to stop shaking my leg. I stared at her like she was crazy and said I couldn't help it. I really couldn't. She kept huffing next to me. jesus lady, i dont even know you!

I loved that one second is smaller than a meter because i was thinking the exact same thing as the guy who replied. Seconds and minutes can be a measurement of distance when referencing latitude and longitude. Of course, unless your a geographer or a navigator you probably don't know this. It certainly isn't common knowledge.

Best one was local grocery chain put lunch coolers on sale in fall. I'm a construction worker and our lunches sat in an unheated truck and I don't like frozen food for lunch. The cashier was a particular dopey woman who asks me why I was buying a cooler in fall. After explaining why she looks at me and asks how the cooler knows to keep my food warm?

I used to work in a chain game store. I had a woman come in who we all knew had kids and buy a copy of GTA 4. I explained to her that maybe, just maybe, the adventures of Niko Bellic and his chums weren't appropriate for younger players. "Oh no no, it's fine." Aight, cool, whatever, not my kid you're traumatising. 2 days later she comes storming into the shop, throws the game on the counter and starts screaming how you "get points for killing innocent pigeons!" I stood there, totally zoned out thinking to myself "Do I actually hate working in retail now?"

This wasn’t too bad but I was in Tim Hortens peacefully waiting in line and overhear the lady infront of me who was at the register. She got her stuff and the worker was very nice she said “Have a good day!” And the lady gets an offended look on her face and says “Aren’t you supposed to thank your customers?!” And she tried to start an argument with the worker but the worker stayed calm and said thank you eventually. (keep in mind that the Karen did NOT say thank you) And as she was walking away she gave me a weird look and sarcasticly laughed

Dog Story => At least I don't usually have this problem. I have Newfoundlands and a Chow. Chows strike fear in people's hearts (though mine is a total sweetheart), and Newfoundlands are GIANT dogs. Bigger than some people. It's been months because of COVID, but people rarely approached me without asking.
@jacklow96114 жыл бұрын
Why would anyone ever be afraid of a Chow? Even though a Newfoundland is a large dog, they're very gentle and friendly. About the worst anyone could be with one is being slobbered to death by one.
@TheIronwil4 жыл бұрын
Jack Low I socialize my dogs all their lives, so my Newfies are great around everyone. My Chow is weird. I’ve never had to give her ANY obedience training. She potty-trained herself in three days, and is the best-behaved dog I’ve ever raised. All my dogs are sweethearts.

I will never EVER understand the people that fuck up and then blame everyone around them or pretend nothing happened or just don’t care. Such weird ass nasty people. Suggested in a drive thru once to a man behind me after throwing trash out his window that he could just wait and drive up to the trash can and he copied my plate and then found my house and took construction site trash and spread it all over my driveway. Nuts, bolts, screws, glass, used razors etc. never actually drive over any of it. Got cleaned before I even got home. Got a Ring doorbell after that.

Worked at a Rose's in Georgia years ago as a cashier. Lady and her elderly mother came into my line to buy a tarp. Rang it up to about 20-30 bucks. Lady gets iffy. Lady: I thought it was $5! I found it in the $5 bucket! Me: I'm sorry ma'am, it rang up at $20, not 5 Lady: How dare you be rude to my mother! Me....bitch what? In the end, after so much yelling at one of my managers at the price, and him trying to get her to understand that people put products away in the wrong place, so it's not the price she was arguing about, ended up begrudgingly telling me to change the price so they'd leave.
@melkiorwiseman52344 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that if that happened in Australia, the manager would first explain the situation, then maybe offer a small discount (like, max $5 off so $15 total) and then would tell them to get out if they refused to accept that.

Use a college train pass with my name on it, train staff woman snatches it out of my hand runs off claiming she wasn’t giving it back because I didn’t have a photo with it (again this had my FULL NAME on) I started recording after she refused to tell me her name (which is illegal) and explained to her that well I didn’t have a photo for that card (not necessary just a courtesy) I had a bankcard and my provisional license with my name and photo on it so I could prove the pass belonged to me. She locked her self in the train cabin with my pass then called the police on me for “harassing her” when she realised I had recorded her hiding her name badge. When the police showed up they treated her like a fucking idiot especially when I explained that I had to other forms of ID that could prove it was mine, she yelled at me when I rang my college and reported my pass stolen and I think she got fired for the disturbance she caused. All over a 16year old girls train pass

Nothing wrong with trying to haggle on price...even if it is a Walmart and they'll probably say no. No harm in trying. Now if you get upset and start acting like a whiny b**** after they say no then that's another story.
@mayorb33664 жыл бұрын
C'mon dude.... WTF. WM is as full blown corporate as it gets. Did you REALLY think every customer coming down the aisle would have ANY luck negotiating their own price??? If the checker took so much as 10 cents off (not that they can) they'd get fired instantly. I'd like to see you open your OWN business and "negotiate" with every customer over price. LMFAO!!! As the old saying goes. "If you don't like the way we do things here... buy the joint". Buy Walmart.

This one’s not super great but it sorta fits. When I was in middle school my friends and I sat at a lunch table where there was a group of upperclassmen next to us. My one friend had odd eating habits and one day the group was looking at her weird and laughing at her and basically not minding their own business. So I decided in a blaze of confidence pulled out of my ass to tell them off. And this one kid goes “do you know who I am?” With full seriousness. And to this day I think about it and cannot believe he actually said that with the confidence of it doing something
