The reasons why I did not like the Lion King 2 is because even though it was a version of Romeo and Juliet (I love that story because I love William Shakespeare's stories), the story made no sense, why would Scar have a secret family? also if Kovou was not Scar's biological son, Scar would have killed him, it was also rushed so this film was up againist itself, I remember watching it trying to keep up with the story, on the other hand the characters and songs were fantastic, it had some humourus bits and some clever bits where the outlanders' eyes glowing when they step out of the shadows and when Scar turns into Kovou but that is it, it would have had more potential if the story was better.

+Eleanor Hogan Well, I can understand that. But (and considering they are treating the monarchy here as we treat monarchs in the real world), Scar knew he wasn't immortal (if you go with the musical version of the character in "The Madness of King Scar") so he had to have an heir to continue is legacy. His actions of choosing an heir from his loyalists isn't all that strange in the real as King Edward the Confessor (the last Anglo-Saxon King of England) had no clear heir and chose either Harold Godwinson or the eventual William the Conqueror. The situation is still murky but William got the crown in the end. As for Scar's 'secret family', I can understand that confusion unless he viewed Zira as unworthy of being his queen but not as his mistress (much to adult for a Disney film). Also, had Kovou been Scar's biological son, there would've been some serious outcry about incest in Disney films as Kiara would've fallen in love with her second cousin.

+PeterBluth Well yes, I understand what you mean, but as I said the story made no sense, I was rummaging myt brains trying despearatley to follow the story, I must admit that I have never seen the madness of King Scar. But as I see it certain films do not need sequels, midquels or live action and/or mordernised remakes.

Eleanor Hogan What about didn't make sense? The Madness of King Scar was a song in the musical where he laments his lack of an heir and nearly rapes as a result.

Eleanor Hogan Who said he had a family, he just had some ass on the side is what I always gleaned. There's no hint of dialogue that Nuka or Vitani are the result of Ziara and Scar's relationship.
