Had to re-upload because I got the maximum brightness wrong in the original video. The display needs at least a 30W USB charger (included) to drive it at max brightness (measured 276 nits). I was using my own 22.5W charger and that wasn't enough.

Hi. Can you please measure how much this monitor takes energy in watts when hdmi cable is connected from the laptop etc? Because this way we would know how much the monitor itself uses energy. Thanks
@teohontech71413 ай бұрын
@@itevensystems8860 12-14W. Even though a laptop/desktop USB-C port in theory can provide 15W, you won't achieve maximum brightness because in real life those USB-C ports will deliver less.

@@teohontech7141 is 12-14w your guess or have you actually measured it? And is it for low brightness or maximum brightness? It's because if that's really the wattage this monitor takes, then it's so much. For a portable monitor, even the size of 16"-18", the actually wattage taken by a monitor is normally about 8 watts, when brightness is low, sometimes even 6 watts. I know, because I measure these things. I even have 27" Lenovo monitor and that only takes about 12 watts when at low brightness
@teohontech71413 ай бұрын
@@itevensystems8860 I looked at the two chargers it's connected to and one's 12W, the other's 14W. But it's not at max brightness though. A 16-18-inch taking 8W is not surprising, and can still be powered by a single USB-C cable from a laptop. But this is a 22-inch display. Your 27-inch taking 12W is quite amazing, but that's at low brightness. Chances are it cannot be powered by a USB-C from a laptop.

@@teohontech7141 cool that is very good. But when you measured wattage, did you measure at AC mains or did you measure the real wattage which comes from USB C cable? Because if you measured the wattages at the AC outlet, then it's not entirely correct, because AC chargers are not 100% efficient and some wattage goes to heating up USB C charger/power supply. Can you please confirm that? To be honest, all this information should be provided by the monitor manufacturers and so often Chinese manufacturers miss the most important factor for portable monitor: how much energy do they draw, actually, at minimum but usable brightness and maximum brightness. These are super important characteristics, as much important as real battery life of a laptop. As for 12w for my 27" Lenovo monitor, it's been measured at low but very usable brightness.

A 22" portable monitor with VESA mount? The possibilities are endless with this thing. Just imagine UPERFECT making a lapdock version of this monitor. That'd be insane!

I'm still using this as a temporary display as my main display is in storage during renovation. I like this A LOT

I have this connected to an M2 MBP and i have no scaling issues and only connect using one single cable if anyone was wondering. Power adapter was not necessary but it is so big it starts to drain the laptop battery at about 1% for what seemed like every couple of minutes.
@teohontech71415 ай бұрын
I am using MBP too. If you attach display to power, you can get even higher brightness which is good for bright indoors. As for scaling issue, it depends on which scaling you use. Some options work fine

yeah this display uses 30 watts, which is about as much as an entire base m chips wattage

i had the 16" 2.5k 16:10 for 2 years now, your review really points out the kickstand can do all the way 180 deg so that i dont exactly need to worry having left-sided cables (my current desk setup most cables are on right side) considering getting one 22"

Great review! Could you please drop the link to the tablet stand you're using with it? I'm looking for it on Amazon but haven't found it :-)
@teohontech71414 ай бұрын
That's not a good tablet stand for this monitor. The monitor is resting on the hook rather than resting inside the hook. You will want a tablet stand that has a BIG latch area for the monitor to rest on so that it does not slide off from the front, which has happened several times already for me while not recording this review.

I wonder why they didn't add the foldable cover for this one.
@teohontech71414 ай бұрын
Maybe because the cover stand won’t be stable, and magnets holding the stand may not be that strong. That one downside of many cover stands.

Good one, can it be connected to a phone, Android phone or iPhone?
@teohontech7141Ай бұрын
Yes, but monitor will need another cable to power.
@usnoozeyuloosey5 ай бұрын
The website doesn't say much about the power input. Must you use 2 usb cables or is 1 240w USB 4 cable sufficient? If you happen to know 😁
@teohontech71415 ай бұрын
Company says at least 30W is needed for the display. I tried a laptop with USB C plus a 22.5W charger and that was not enough to drive maximum brightness.

How much does it weigh? and how fragile does it feel?

Not sure about the exact weight. Maybe around the weight of a 15-inch laptop. Build quality is alright, not the most solid but it's not fragile.
