Souness was everything he says he was as a Liverpool player. He was brilliant in all aspects needed for a midfield player of his era. As Liverpool Manager he signed some , at best, mediocre players. Julian Dicks was a shocking signing. It took a while to recover after his tenure.

I'd have more respect for them if they had the balls to just say they dislike him. His records and his consistency is unmatched in PL since he's been here. Suddenly, a poor 6 weeks after a 3 mth layoff, while still scoring the most for us, and they're literally dismissing all he's achieved. This special treatment is saved just for Salah and in my 40 + years as a Red, and a footy fan, I've never seen anything like this before for any player.

It still doesn't change the fact that they're using 6 weeks to base they're opinion on a player that's been the best and most consistent in England 1.5 months short of 7 seasons. You just need to listen to the other players young and old, who talk about Salah to know Souness and Jordan just don't like him but use a footballing narrative to make it sound considered.

Mo salah Liverpool's record epl goalscorer and he is not even a striker. He is having a blip at present and that happens to most players if not all. He is also been carrying an injury since the afcon and has not been fully fit. Listening to the panel about Salah makes you understand why Bernado can literally swing on his shirt without the English Ref seeing it as a foul. Unbelievable how bias. the idea klopp has takeb some plucky mid tier side to dominance is laugable. he has a big budget and more often than not funished 3rd or worse - finishing in the top 2 only 3 of 9 seasons. city are 6th in terms of net spend over the last 5 years, and have never finished outside the top two in that period. klopp has performed as expected in the main: took a budget that hovers around the top 4 and created a side that mainly finishes 3-5th, but has the occassional run at a title or cup.

The point about leadership is valid, but be honest, this Liverpool team massively punched above their weight this year. Jones was playing out of his skin and the team actually looked better when they had all the injuries (Trent, Robbo, Salah etc). Having all those players come back in and underperform has hurt us. Jota has been a huge miss though. He was on fire earlier in the season. To say it’s just down to the leadership is lazy punditry

Injuries just caught up them. Liverpool were practically unbeatable for most of the season. Small margins. If Jota had been fit, we beat United in both games. If Allison is fit, he saves one or two of the shots that Kelleher let in. Out of the to three teams, only one team had significant injuries, so it’s no surprise that the other two are finishing stronger.

Imo Klopp made a huge error that led to their recent demise - he played a full strength team v S Prague in the 2nd leg of the Europa League with the M Utd FA Cup under 3 days later. Liverpool were already 5-1 up with the tie dead and dusted - he could have/should rested the big names and kept them fresh for the FA Cup where there was always a chance of extra-time. In the event that last -second loss was a momentum-changing point which appears to have killed their confidence....

There is a problem by defining world class as a player that gets into any team. If that is the bar you can reduce the argument to who gets into the best team in the world.
