That is a great idea, the erase board. Pilots have them, smaller, to write down call signals and instructions. I never thought of that for trucking, but that will work.

Awesome!!! Congratulations 🥳 I’m hearing Freightliners is the best way because easy to repair by anybody. Good Luck
@scottythetrucker13362 жыл бұрын
I trained on both a Pete and a Freightliner. Pete's are more comfortable. Smoother ride, little more room, but have the reputation of breaking down more. Freightliners will rattle your bones, but tend to be reliable workhorses. I'd be happy with either.

Outstanding Scotty 👍🏽,Hey you need to get a set of load bars.Load bars will save your A** if your going reefer.When you get loaded from a shippers they’re gonna load you but it’s your responsibility to make sure your product is secure.You can set your load bars both horizontally & vertically so the product your hauling doesn’t shift,or tip over during transport.Also get a bag of green chem sticks so @ night if your doing an alley dock you can put a chem stick on top on each side of the dock & there’s your 2nd set of eyes 👀.Remember once your solo it’s all you & getting in & out of these shippers & receivers is crucial.Again good luck 👍🏽.

Yeah, this was just the small odds and ends. I'll pick load locks and those supplies from the shop and charge it to the truck. I love the Chem stick idea. Genious!

@@Moondoggy1970 the other option that I saw another driver mention was a small waterproof battery operated lantern like Harbor Freight has so it’s reusable and if used with rechargeable AA’s, minimal ongoing cost.

Congratulations man, glad to hear it’s moving forward. I’m excited to see what truck you end up with. I got issued a lightweight, it’s okay for regional but not ideal. I wouldn’t recommend if you plan to stay out for more than a week at a time.

I think you could have got the dual abloy locks ( big and small) that share the same key and u can use the small one to lock up load locks .. Just an idea
@scottythetrucker13362 жыл бұрын
I believe the abloy for the back doors needs to be this standard size, however I know there is a way to get them keyed the same. Either way, you live and learn. Just didn't want to get caught without one.
@an60772 жыл бұрын
@@scottythetrucker1336 you need a smaller abloy lock for the load locks , they sell them as a set at the company store. The standard one is too big can only be used to lock up trailer ..

@@an6077 Yeah, these were only for the doors od the trailer. Load locks and other items are supplied after I have the truck and it gets outfitted in the shop.

AWESOME!!!! It sounds like things are coming along. It shouldn't be long before you get your truck now! Some better trucks might come along in one or two days, but who knows; it might be better to take one of the Internationals; it's hard to say.
