A current stabilizer will give out a steady voltage so the light won't flicker ... And you can connect a number of batteries to be charged all day long and connect the light to a night sensor and put the whole assembly on top of a wooden post so the village will always have light at night

Excelent, excelent job. In the future, you guys can change those half-pipe for larger ones, once the thrust over a greater area can add more torque to the system. I also think, in the long run, the motor will need some sort of shroud to protect it. and how about a pole in the sandbar, to rise the cables away from the stream?

Nice upgrade. By improving the centering of the pinions, the electric voltage will be more stable. 17:13 The chain tensioners move too much. The capacitor is not sufficient to correct for such mechanical variation.

Instead of using just one 750w motor you could use several together giving you the most out of the swift moving water. That is a great place for power generation. You must be pleased to have it right now. Does the streamgo down very far in the low season ? Good luck with it its a great project !

You have made a primary generator, that can make a little voltage 37-40 volt. If you set here a step-up transformer then you can get from here35 to 220-230 volt and minimum for 30 ampere current.

Doing better with this. Really want to use AC from the motor to the place you need to rectify. Also, everything needs to be shielded from water. A direct transmission would be better than a chain.
@Dave_en3 жыл бұрын
Direct transmission would reduce the speed of motor and the voltage generated would be much less. So we need gear mechanism to convert high torque low RPM to low torque high RPM. Also a three phase generator would be much more efficient. The AC can be rectified, filtered and regulated to get almost pure DC with constant voltage. Some part of the power may be lost as heat from the regulator. Suppose the output varies between 55 and 65V, it can be made into 50V constant DC.

That is what the capacitor is for. He show it to you a few times. That keeps is what keeps it stable.
@rs2klee3 жыл бұрын
getting there, still think the gear ratio is under too much load. Not sure its worth the spring loaded tensioners as its not a motorbike chain that spins really fast but over time i think would benefit them for chain stretching but would need many months constant usage. Next upgrade is a modified washing machine motor with 3 stage gear ratios or even more. I also think the reason for your gearing is the water flow speed is letting you down
