What is the format of the M.2 SSD you put in? I read somewhere that it has to be a specific format (2242) with three prongs like you have on the video. Will a Facter M Key work fine or does it have to be NGFF? Thanks

Helpful video, thanks! In my T450s there is already a standard 2.5" SSD installed, so does EVERY T450s has an additional M.2 Slot, so that one can use two SSD's? And most importantly, can I take ANY M.2 SSD for my T450s? So would a "M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 with 3D-NAND" technology work and be recognized from my motherboard? Thank you!

HI Z Jeager, Yes every T450s has extra M.2 slot & you can use both SSD's 2.5" standard & M.2 at the same time. whereas you can only 2242 size M.2 in that space not 2280 size & T450s does not support NVME. :)

4gb ram is soldered in so only 1 slot you can mess up with, thus 4+x, thus max 20GB, you can try putting in a 32gb ram giving it 4+32 in total, will be fun to see the results, don't know about SSD though.

Appreciate if you can please share a video on how to clone the existing HDD with Win 10 to the newly installed Internal flash SSD. Did you clone your HDD to SSD or a fresh insall on SSD ?

Hola. Tengo un Lenovo Think Pad T450s que compré usado hace un año o dos. Va bien, pero la persona que me lo vendió me dijo que el disco duro era un intermedio entre los discos duros tradicionales y los SSD actuales. Tengo también un HP elitebook x360 con la pantalla rota, que no vale la pena arreglar. Quería preguntarte si el disco duro SSD que lleva el HP lo puedo instalar en el Lenovo. No haría yo el cambio o sustitución por que no me atrevo. Me lo haría un amigo, pero antes de desmontar nada quería saber si es posible. Muchas gracias.

Estimado Arturo A, me puede confirmar el modelo exacto de hp elitebook x360? lenovo T450s solo admite m.2 ssd con interfaz sata y el tamaño 2242 (42 mm) Si el elitebook x360 actual que tiene tiene M.2 NVme ssd, entonces no se puede cambiar porque el T450s solo tiene una interfaz sata m.2 ssd.

Dear Baraenicep, you can only use m.2 ssd( B+M Key) with two cuts I've installed actual m2 ssd and not dummy.

Dear Sergio Gomes, The Lenovo T450/450s takes 2242 NFGG M.2 SSD which is PCIE based. I have installed 256gb variant in my machine.

Where did you find the screw to fit the sdd?

Do not use screw but a plastic base with plastic pins that you can put in holes. It need just one screw to fix base.

@@mazg9127 estuve revisando y en la pagina oficial de lenovo aparecen los discos soportados y es una unidad de 32 gb no valia la pena, le meti un ssd sata y con eso de momento, ahorita mejor me compre la T14 y es una cosa barbara neta, me levanta el gears of war 4 de la xbox store, si aun la tienes metele mejor un ssd el nvme esta caro para la poca capacidad que soporta por el tamaño, solo cabe la de 3 cm no hay unidades grandes creo para ese tamaño.

Dear coolmanu55, there's no way to add/fit standard ssd in t450s. you have to sacrifice main HDD spot in order to fit standard ssd OR you can go with M.2 ssd alongside HDD as i used in my video.

Can you please update if you have got any laptop temperature issues etc as I have seen few reviews that their laptop is getting hot with the internal flash ssd... Or it's absolutely fine. I found one on amazon...430S Solid State Drive TS512GMTS430S ..can you please advise, if I can buy it or any link to buy it. Thanks again.

@@geekmaher mate, I am planning to go with curcial 500gb 2.5 SSD as these transcend ,2 ssd are expensive and these need to be shipped from the USA. These are like $38 expensive...and this 2.5 inch has better reviews than the m2 ssd's. Adding to it, there is chance of temp increase as few of them are giving problems ( not all) but as per my research. ...and these 35% expensive than the crucial ssd. Not many companies available in 2242 m2 ssd...except transcend. Please upload a video on which free software to use to clone the HDD to SDD. Do we need an external cable to connect it to the newly purchased SDD to clone it right....as we cant clone after we insert ? Have you done anything like that before ?

Are you pushing F1? Or Fn+F1???

Dear Peter Gal, I pushed only F1 but the Fn key was ON as you may notice the green light on Fn key.

Dear brother, ye standard m.2 SATA interface ha jo k normal 2.5" SSD jesa kam krta ha, ye slot NVME supported nahe ha. T460s ki slot NVME supported ha.
