as for removing the back panel, as detailed in the official documentation, it's easiest to open on the top side (basically, the only side of the laptop left untried in this video), it opens up really easy

Thanks for the video. In other youtubers tutorials, they opened the back cover so easily, thought I did something wrong. Thanks for showing me how to pry it open. :) Keep up the good work!

Thanks 😊 Yes, initially I thought I missed a screw, but then I realized it's stuck. Should be very careful mot to break the locks. Hope you enjoyed it. 😇 Subscribe for more 😉

Would G.Skill Ripjaws ram be suitable when doing a ram upgrade?
@mvbproductions_in5 жыл бұрын
Hey bro.. i think you are from India as I also, have bought 7590 from UK. But want to upgrade with 1 32gb ram. Can you suggest me brand as not available in crucial.
@GnomezGrave5 жыл бұрын
I'm Sri Lanka. You can go with Samsung, Kingston or Corsair, but they can be a bit expensive. However, I suggest you to have two 16aGB modules because it will be faster.

What exact model of ram specs will work; frequency is limited. BIOS not adjustable for over clocking? (3200 and 2666 both failed to boot giving front light code /3 white and 2 amber/ = RAM not found.)
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
I have 2600MHz modules. I don't think we can overclock, it's a H type processor.

If we upgrade ourself can we get any warranty issue?

No, it's meant to be upgraded, unless you break something.

What toolkit do you use? I am confused about the size of Philips screw.
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
You will find it in most of the smaller toolsets. It's the one with 5 or 6 edges.

Hi, I changed my internal drive. However, I can’t read data from my old NVMe drive when I connect it using external enclosure. The drive gets detected in device manager but doesn’t show up in explorer. Any suggestions?
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's because it's encrypted. You need plug it to the computer and boot using that, then decrypt using BitLocker. Then you will be able access the files when it's plugged again as an external device.

Do I need to download windows or anything before replacing the SSD ?? Great video by the way it's the one I'm using for my upgrade. Better than any other vid
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would need a bootable Windows media, because I had a clean reinstallation. But some people suggest to take a snapshot of your current installation and restore it. But make sure you decrypt the harddisk first since it's been encrypted using BitLocket. The easier and the faster way is to do a clean install. But you have to install the drivers as well.

@@GnomezGrave I don't wanna be too much of a bug if you're busy but you know a lot more about these things. I'm picking between a few lap tops for picture and some video editing I was wondering if you have any suggestions or anything
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
If you're doing some light video editing, you don't really need a big graphics card. Any mobile version of graphics card would do. But you need a good processor, at least i7 with 16GB RAM. You can check Dell XPS 15 (this or an older model), Razer Blade 15 or even an 2018 or early 2019 Mac Book Pro. Look for a used one and you will get a good price!

subscribed bro.. great video :) can you also do one for cloning the old SSD to new one please? keep up the good work
@GnomezGrave5 жыл бұрын
Thanks 😊 I didn't clone it, I installed everything from the scratch. License is in the BIOS, so no big issues. Only thing is that we have to install drivers.
@kathiravanmanimozhi85215 жыл бұрын
@@GnomezGrave ok. Sorry I didn't understand the license part. So we download the win 10 pro os and install? No need to purchase license separately? Thanks for taking time to respond!!
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
When you purchase the laptop with a license, the key is embedded into BIOS. So, you don't need to enter the key when you re-install (the same version of) Windows.

Hi I want to clone the 512 Gb SSD to a 1Tb EVO Plus SSD without first installing the OS (so preserving the factory default) but the cloning software fails because the 512 is bitlocker encrypted. Do you know how it can be cloned?
@GnomezGrave5 жыл бұрын
I didn't do it like that though. I directly installed using a bootable USB. The hassle with that it I had to install all the drivers, but it's not that hard. Because the Windows serial key is embedded to BIOS, you won't need a separate serial number.
@vinayakabhatt5 жыл бұрын
You have to decript the drive from windows before initiating the copy. its pretty easy and once decrypted it can be cloned

I would like to Ask, 'What sort of Work you do that you need 32gigs of RAM & 2TB SSD?" Don't you think it's over Specified & unnecessary.
@GnomezGrave5 жыл бұрын
I'm using it for video editing, but for that 16GB would also be enough. But I also use it for development and it helps me to run multiple VMs (or Dockers) and several IDEs at once. But I don't think 2TB is an overkill. You always can upgrade your RAM, but it will be very painful to upgrade your SSD. Since I use it for multiple purposes, I think 2TB is a good investment. But of course, it's not necessarily be that for everyone. 😊
@Amarand5 жыл бұрын
Photo editing uses a lot of memory to hold a large Lightroom catalog. Also editing takes a nice amount of GPU and graphics memory. The 2TB SSD is just barely enough for video editing, and a decent amount for shooting RAW with a DSLR. I have 32 TB of external/internal storage on my desktop, and several SSDs for speed.
