Thanks for the video, you helped me a lot! I have a doubt now, I currently have the 330S with 1TB HDD + 16 GB Optane tech, I want to install a M.2 SDD for system and some programs, and leave files and the rest to the HDD. But the trouble is that the M.2 slot is the same where is installed the Optane, so I have to remove Optane memory if I want to install the SSD. It's actually better to have SSD + HDD, or HDD + Optane? Btw, i have dual boot with Windows and Ubuntu, not sure if that can be a element to consider. Thanks!

I upgraded my Lenovo 330s and added the m.2 ssd.. it worked but it made my sata stop working... like the computer doen't even read it when the m.2 is on

So I installed the NVME SSD in the laptop and let the SATA HDD stay as it is. However on boot up I don’t see the SSS drive. Do I then need to reformat my Windows OS?

Hi I arrive this video because I have a very similar laptop model and I install windows on the nvme device and all ok, but when I created the partition to the hdd device my pc starts on boot menu when I turn on it and the nvme device is not on the list (the hdd is on the list but that not helpme)... except when I turn of and tun in on again it starts normaly, this is uncomfortable I need to start my laptop twice when I need it. Thanks if you have a solution I will appreciate it very much. My native lenguage is spanish sorry if I sorry if I made a mistake when writing.

Would you mind helping me out. I have a lenovo ideapad 330s 15ikb. I want to upgrade the ram. I would like to add the 16 crucial chip as you did. My computer is 8gb. I'm assuming 4 gb removable and 4 non-removable. Task manager shows my memory speed 2400 mhz. Factor form is sodimm. So I would just need to be sure I order the crucial 2400 16GB chip right?

I just today put 16gb ram 2666mhz ddr4 on my lenovo ideapad 330s, it's working amazing. My version of the 330s came out of the box with 4gb soldered ram and 16gb intel optane. The motherboard have 1 slot for extra ram. :) Now i have 20 gb total ram :) hopefully everything goes smoothly :) Also my laptop came with 1tb HHD, but it was almost unusable as it was extremely slow and freeze. Last year i changed it for an ssd and the performance improvement was enormous, but the very little ram was still an issue, and i had to close Chrome tabs and Adobe software struggled from time to time. Now i feel like i can use this laptop for many years :) i'm happy

Hi. Actually, yes. Much. You have 2 basic types of ssd drives, m.2 nvme pcie, and m.2 sata ssd. There is also 2.5 inch sata ssd. Speeds on nvme ssd are considerably faster. Dale

I have this same laptop, how ever when I went to upgrade my ram i bought a 8 gig stick because it said that the max was 12. I have 4 gigs on board. So if I replace the 8 gig stick with a 16 gig will the system use the additional memory or only use 12? thanks

You can use a 16gb stick plus the 4gb on board, and end up.with 20gb. Manufacturers always say less than what you can actually use. If you have a small ssd, like a 128gb for example, increasing the ram will use more ssd space for your swap file (page file). Something to keep in mind. Dale

max UPGRADE is 12gb.. not max total ram :) It came with 8gb on board and he added the max upgrade of 12
