you know what would have made this video fantastic, seeing the end result! It seems while this works for Intune only enrolled machines, the bahviour seems to be varying for hybrid devices. The rings and policies get assdigned to the machine alright and they gray out some settings which indicates that they are actually working but then do nothing regarding installing/downloading windows 11.

We run into this exact problem while pushing the 11 upgrade

At 1:28, you instruct to "locate the policy section". I've found no such section. I've checked with senior admin, there is no policy section here. With these instructions referring to a section that does not exist by following along with your process, this video is completely useless. Please advise.

This has been moved further down into it's own option called "Windows Updates" - There is a Feature Update policy editor within there.

@slatibardfast correct. Many of the Intune videos that I have published will be different because Microsoft has moved things around in the endpoint manager center. Which is a pain!

what's the purpose of enabling that GPO?

Its a pre-requsite to allow Intune to push the updates to the device, what he did on local GPO can be done from Intune direct by creating 2 config profiles to enable it ( google it) then apply to your group

ya right lol, like why would you show all that but not drop even a hint of why?

Sucks that he hasn’t responded, but I have to imagine it is one of, if not, the only service that Intune uses for its communication to the computer EDIT: I was wrong, I looked it up and found that computer without telemetry enabled might install a newer version of Windows instead of being held at whatever version is listed in the policy. This shouldn’t really effect you unless you care that it installs only 23H1 instead of 23H2 for instance.

windows 11 is horrible in a corporate environment. or I could just be a crappy sys admin. Either way it caused me way more issues than windows 10.
