KDE connect , it's made for KDE but works great in Windows too . Features are 1. Notification sharing from pc to mobile and mobike to pc 2. Media controls 3. Being able to reply to messeges from pc 4. Mouse cursor control from mobile and vice versa My favourite thing about it is , I often watch KZbin videos on my laptop with earphones on and couldn't hear when somebody calls it the phone is not in direct eye sight KDE connect stops the media i am watching , and shows notifications of who's calling and resume the media after the call is done .

Thanks for the detailed comment! A lot of people have mentioned KDE connect and with it being open source it certainly is very compelling. What are your thoughts on Foxit PDF viewer compared to Sumatra PDF? Which is better?
@Productive_Tech21 күн бұрын
Sumatra is free and open source and is generally suitable for my needs being super simple, though it is more of a reader as opposed to an editor. I believe with Foxit you have more editing features and probably a more modern-looking UI too but it does have a premium option so there are likely cons associated with that. To be fair I've only looked on the surface regarding Foxit so my recommendation would be to try Sumatra first and if you feel that you need more features (especially on the editing side of things) then give Foxit a go. Hope that helps.

@Productive_Tech15 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. In regards to moving the taskbar to the top I'd recommend the "Start11" tweaker application or the explorer patcher tool depending on your preference. Personally, I haven't used them before, so dont know how reliable or safe they are but people have mentioned these applications online as potential solutions that work pretty well. Regarding zen, though it might not come with a blocker I think this could be achieved through some extensions if you really wanted.
@diszydreams2 күн бұрын
Best way to block ads is to run pi-hole on your network - that way it doesn't matter if you surf on your phone, lap/desktop or TV - ads are blocked before they reach your browser of choice.

Any good video players? Most media players look too outdated on windows .Any suggestions?
@Productive_TechАй бұрын
I've actually been looking into this for one of my future videos. Currently I use VLC but am testing and might switch to "Screen box" it's based on VLC from what I've read, but has a far more modern UI. To be honest the default photos app in windows or the film and tv app are not too bad overall as media players but yh it depends what you're after. Hope that helps
@princelahotiАй бұрын
@@Productive_Tech the Microsoft photos/media player is too basic. I looked into Screenbox and it's looking promising and I might switch. Thanks!!

is there one to fix UI inconsistencies? cuz that's what's been bugging me lately
@Productive_TechАй бұрын
I had come across a few previously but I think all of them are generally more on the unstable side according to people online. Yh I agree windows could be dissected at this point as an example of "how to make inconsistent UI's" but hopefully it improves in the future.
@Productive_TechАй бұрын
Actually, I do remember a tool called Rectify 11 which aims to improve the Windows 11 UI inconsistencies but it appears their website is undergoing some updates rn. The last time I checked it a few months back the website was actually looking pretty good with some big promises. Though it does make some big changes so people should install it at their own risk. I'm sure you can find more information about it online.

@Productive_TechАй бұрын
@@Alikk784 Yh I was definately being more optimistic there.... Microsoft really need to get their act together regarding actually providing a good consistent user experience. I mean as many other views have suggested - Linux? Or should I even consider MacOS at this point? Needless to say both are increasing in market share slowly so you'd think that Microsoft can get it together before it's too late

Chrome: uses to much RAM, so we use.... Chrome... eh Arc, trust me bro, it's not the same browser with a different UI
@Productive_TechАй бұрын
Maybe my explanation wasn't too good in the video but I was not meant to mean that arc and chrome are the same but with a different UI. They are quite different despite both being chromium based
@fischi9129Ай бұрын
@@Productive_Tech I mean, sure, what I ment is: if Chrome is a RAM Hog, Arc is too, they use the same RAM generator under the hood, so RAM usage is maybe not the best argument against chrome :)

why do you so equip closed source vindows to get “freedom” and some kind of “Fix All the Major Problems”. When there is open source linux ?
@Productive_TechАй бұрын
I was mainly sharing/referring to "free" software for windoourcedws 11 that would actually have visible benefits to an everyday end-user without worrying too much whether the software was open or closed-s. Not necessarily to get this "freedom" but just to improve the overall experience with some quality-of-life features. I agree if you really want open source then Linux is a solid option, however, for many people, it simply isn't feasible due to the workflow built up over decades or certain applications that people might rely on daily.
